I am totally offended that anyone should even suggest Hillary drop out. She is the most experienced and most capable to get us out the of MESS we are currently in. Think about it!!! Would you turn your Fortune 500 company over to an inexperienced leader??? I certainly would not. I would want the most experienced person with a track record of success to handle my affairs. People are completely doing this on emotion, and not what's best for this country. We should all be standing behind Hillary to help her gain control of the White House for the next eight (8) years.

Why should she drop out? Because your magazine has already decided that "Our Change Has Come"? I don't think it will kill you guys to let us little voters decide.

    Hillary 2008!!!

Hillary cares not about her party. If she loses, you can rest assured that she'll do everything in her power to help McCain to win. It's the only way she can have a shot at this thing in 4 years. The problem is that people are really getting to know the true Hillary Clinton; a confused, unprincipled chameleon who is afraid to stand on her own ideals because she does not have any. She is a power monger like her husband and she'd rather demonize her opponents than attempt to work with them. The gridlock that she would create at this point in time is not something America could tolerate. We need the Clinton's to fade away but they never have and they never will. Like Mr. Alter says, the Clinton's will not quit until there is no pulse left but beware, they may even come back from the dead. They really are like a bad horror flick. I just hope the good guy eventually wins in this case.

It doesn't surprise me that a man wrote this article (which it is a fact that most men aren't for her), and he is probably a supporter of Obama. Clinton still has a chance, and a good one at that. She won't give up, and I don't believe she should. Ohio, Texas, Vermont, and Rhode Island .... I can say right now, living in New Hampshire for about 8 years and knowing a lot of people in Vermont, that I will be VERY surprised if Obama wins there. If he does, then he probably will end up getting Hillary out of the race.

How could you even suggest such a thing. Hillary is not some wimp who is in the race just for noteriety. She is in the race to win and to serve those that elect her as the next President. If that is how you feel, why are you not screaming off the mountain top about Huckabee? Double standard no doubt. Hillary has always been a fighter and has fought her way through much worse adversity. She is our best chance to take back the white house. I feel in my heart that if Obama gets the nomination...all hell will break loose and folks will come out of the woodworks to tear him down...they are just salivating and waiting for that momeht...then and surely then, the Republicans will be right back in the White House. I hope she can win the nominaton.

Getting the job done right is in the eye of the beholder, male, female it does not matter. Most of us have no idea of the innerworkings of todays government or what it takes to actually get things done. Look at these posts, look how polarized you are just within your own party, do you see that actually getting things done will be near impossible for whomever is elected. The President is the spokeshole for the country, outside of controlling the military and ability to pardon, there is very little that they have an effect on. I know a lot of people place a lot of stock on how well these candidates speak, but you definately want a straight shooter sitting in the Oval Office, not a well spoken liar.

She our stay in the race. We need a qualified candidate who will be able to lead this nation, not just someone who talks a good talk. Obama mayhem (and his followers) are really out of their minds if they think Hillary is the least qualified candidate for the presidency. She is the most qualified, in fact. Words are just words if there is no follow through. Obama keeps talking about change, but has never stepped up to the game. Even Nader commented on his ususal silence in the senate when it came to hard issues dealing with the poor.

I'm hoping for a strong showing on March 4 by Hillary. By the time the dust cleared at that convention, there'd be so many alienated and justifiably disgusted democratic voters, McCain with Nader's nudge will have a walk in November.

Alter: You are an idiot!!! She is only down 80 delegates so why weren't you telling Obama to drop out when Mrs. Clinton was leading him by over 100 delegates after super tuesday???

I was a Newsweek subscriber but will no longer endorse such a biased and hypocritical publication!!! You should be fired!!!!

Would someone, anyone on here who supports Hillary please try to explain anything she has ever accomplished? She criticizes Obama but has done nothing herself. Being married to a Governor and Former President counts for nothing. She has done nothing for NY as a carpetbagging senator. Please explain her credentials and accomplishments...they don't exist.

Wow... I am so embarrassed by many of the comments I see here. Since when have the personal attacks being made here about Clinton, Obama, Republicans, Democrats, or anyone else been appropriate. I think that everyone can make their point without the name calling. Also, I expect that most who are commenting are not even all that aware of any of the candidates platforms. Maybe you should take a break and go check out what the candidates are ACTUALLY proposing becasue most of the positions people here are claiming the candidates take are frankly incorrect.

Hillary should stay in until every state has it's primary. We have the right as voters to cast our vote for our choice of candidate, and have every right to expect that candidate to still be in the race when we vote especially if that candidate has the delegate count that Hillary currently has. The people who are pulling for Hillary to bow out are seeing just how vulnerable Mr. Obama is now that he is the "front runner". Who knows what the press will try to throw at him, true or not. Let's be happy that we finally have a race in which people are coming out in large numbers to participate in. Why should she bow out when the final delegate count could very well come out in her favor? It is not over.

Her ad that states "I have taken so many hits in my life".....is DIRECT plagiarism of BILL CLINTON"S speech from 1992. She like he "husband" is a complete phony.

  • Posted By: robert6906 @ 02/25/2008 5:11:09 PM

Absolute rubbish. Only 10-15 percent of eligible Democrats vote in the primary. It is no meausre of her ability to win on the issues. The media is acting as election power brokers. Hillary stay in and fight ot he end. "Never flinch, never weary and never despair." Winston Churchill. Who the hell is NewsWeek to decide anything. You're entitled to your wrong opinion.

Imagine if she had, well, the imagination for a breathtaking act of political theater that would make her seem the epitome of grace and class and party unity, setting herself up perfectly for 2012 if Obama loses?

Uh-huh. And if she did so, what would the media narrative be in 2011? "Clinton couldn't stick out a tough primary fight in 2008."

Good job, Alter. We all know the mainstream media and the blogosphere is in the tank for Obama, but few accredited journalists have the guts to publicly admit it, your lame "we love the horserace" disclaimer notwithstanding.

BTW, nice try with the Photoshopping, but we all know you're bald.

    hey robert.mcfarlane,
we know what kind of person you are , the kind that will lick monica's blue dress with his tongue to know bill clinton. whoooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

This is the problem with the campaign season starting so early. Why should she quit? This would take away many people's right to vote, who want to vote for Hilary. The democratic process is to allow Americans to vote for the candidate who best represents their issues. Because she's not winning the popular vote, she should bow out now? The primaries are only getting started. I think Obama is a great canidate. But just because he's winning the popular vote - so far, we should eliminate any possible options for the rest of America who hasn't voted. These reporters need to give it a break and let the democratic process take place. After all isn't that why Bush says we are in Iraq? To allow the citizens the right to follow democratic processes like this?
