to suggest that the only reason hilary will be kept out of office because of her gender is ludacris. Excuse my spelling. Obama has run a better campain and better connected to the people, and it is this, not sexual bigotry, that will sent him to Washington.

HILLARY THEATRICS ARE LOW CLASS AND EMBARASSING! Is she really a presidential candidate? Talking to the stars and heavens as a mock of Obama shows how panicky she is. I say get out now, you have made a food of yourself Hillary. Obama has shown us to be a man of Presidential material, exhibiting class, patience and plenty tough enough for this country to vote for President.

Two American families have controled the Wite house for nearly 2 decades.. tThey are behind the scenes allies )They have brought us The War, Nafta and the current econimic downturn >
Bill feels empowered to approach Obama supporters who have shouted Obama's name at his speaking engagements ......( he appears abe defending her honor , and we recall that he did not defend his wife when he could have protected her and his own term's integerity way back when ) as the yhave often refered to their intention to re-establish a CO-Presidentcy, she bears responsibility for NAFTA, The Iraq War , and Bills bad behaviour as well..
Ms. Clinton seems ugly each day and reveals to us all that she (like the Bushe's belives that it is her "birth-right". to be the standard bearer of th Demorcratic Party..
I once supported her and now I find her mean streak embarrsasing
Ms.Clinton it is time to go!.

Who are you to say Hillary should get out now? This is the most ridiculous comment I have heard - especially since she's been gaining some momentum these past few days. I guess my question is; how much is Obama paying you? Wow, I can't believe the media; and this is comment is coming from a concerned resident of Canada. Talk about media trying to influence the voters.

This is Hillay's ONLY chance for presidency. The DNC will not support her next time around, just like John Kerry.

If all people want to hear is pretty words and "feel" inspired then anyone running for president who chooses to confront the grunt work and unpleasant issues will never win the presidency.

Its ashame that the most liberal and the most conservative think alike Hillary should stay and turn up the heat by attacking his references to releigon, his failure to understand the symbols of America and their importance, Think about it the greatest symbol of America is the President and if he can't believe in that then he can't believe in the job he seeks. He is trying to make us believe beliveve that God will come forth , and save us if we have faith, well when God stays away will he then say that we did not have faith sounds like the false
Quit I hope not I pray not Liberals should remember that we have enough strength to stop a canidate. WE DO NOT HAVE THE STRENGTH TO ELECT A PRESIDENT , look at the past attempts, now with Nader we will lose the centerists and some moderates who feel Obama is to liberal and Mcain gets the White House
    Get real

How could you even suggest such a thing. Hillary is not some wimp who is in the race just for noteriety. She is in the race to win and to serve those that elect her as the next President. If that is how you feel, why are you not screaming off the mountain top about Huckabee? Double standard no doubt. Hillary has always been a fighter and has fought her way through much worse adversity. She is our best chance to take back the white house. I feel in my heart that if Obama gets the nomination...all hell will break loose and folks will come out of the woodworks to tear him down...they are just salivating and waiting for that momeht...then and surely then, the Republicans will be right back in the White House. I hope she can win the nominaton.

    Mr. Alter,
For Hillary Clinton, as close as she is on delegate count now, with all the support she has in the upcoming states, the fact that she will be the candidate to beat John McCain, and, the fact that she truly won a landslide from Florida's temporarily disenfranchised Democrats, "going down ugly" , would be to leave the race. anytime bef

    • Posted By: BRogers08 @ 02/25/2008 5:08:42 PM

Actually, the polls show Obama having a significant edge over McCain while Clinton is in a dead heat with him. Is it truly a "fact" if it hasn't happened yet? I think not.

  • Posted By: Clevelandgirl @ 02/25/2008 5:08:40 PM

I still do not know what Barack Obama stands for. I don't want a President that is known for just being "Nice". Would you want a Doctor who manages your life health to be just "nice" or qualified? Hillary better start asking Barack what his position is on alot of questions instead of trying to run a "NICE" campaign. Go Hillary!!!!! I need to get back to work. The US had a lot of work when Clinton was president.

  • Posted By: USA Gone Crazy @ 02/25/2008 5:08:40 PM

The media has flavored this campaign for too long, and the taste is bitter. Let the candidates and the people decide when to stay and when to go. There is certainly NO humiliation, as Alter believes, in fighting the fight. Hillary is a fine candidate, person, humanitarian, and woman. I hope she continues on until this is definitively over, and if victorious, won't say "I told you so"! Hillary, you're fantastic!

After her very staged kind words at the end of the debate Hilary walked past Obama and has been tearing him apart with no grace !. Perhaps Newsweek should point out that Hillary Clinton answers most questions on her position by dismsmbering her opponents position. Her so-called experience is a cruel joke. Why did no one ask the Senator fron New York what treaties /agreements she negotiated while traveling the world as First Lady. Why was she negotiating with anyone ,... she had no official appointed nor elected office in the Clinton Administration!

The sad part of this article is that it echoes what so many pundits have wished for the last few months of this primary/caucus fracus. The media has barnstormed the Clinton candidacy since it began last Fall and up until the Obama-mania started, were somewhat behind her lead. What confounds me is that the same isn't being said for the stuttering, sputtering Huckabee campaign which is leeching votes away from the Republican front runner. He isn't asked to "bow out gracefully" to avoid embarassing the party or ruining his chances for a 2012 election bid. If the buzzards are going to hover over the bloated carcasses of fallen nominees, shouldn't they wait until the bodies are cold? Hillary can hang in there as long as there are people who want a choice. How about Ralph Nadar stepping in as an independent (again) as close as you can possibly get to the 11th hour? I frankly think voters should be given an opportunity to vote as they please not because the rest of the country has spoken for them. There are still states that have not had a primary.

Very good article. She should follow your advice. However, I'm tired of everyone speaking in such glowing terms of her final answer in the most recent debate. In a debate where she took a badly received cheap shot at Mr. Obama for plagerism, she started her final answer with an almost word for word lift from the movie "Primary Colors." Check out the scene in the Krispy Kreme donut shop. After the debate some commentators suggested that what Mrs. Clinton needed to do was show more of a fighting spirit. BAM !! Two days later there she is, raising her voice and pronouncing that Barak Obama "Should be ashamed of himself." I hope she reads your article, because she obviously sits and waits for someone to tell her what she should be thinking next. Hillary's approach to leadership is this, "There go my people. I must find out where they're going so I can lead them."

I am writing you as a concerned American and Texan. There is so much anti-Hilary press that I'm concerned about voters not focusing on the issues and the facts. I want to reach out to Hispanic voters in Texas and say: "Educate your self about the candidate before you vote!"

    1) When you hire a person for a job, you not only consider their answers to questions but you review their resume.

    A. I know Hilary has more experience than Obama but also she was absent for voting in the senate 6% to Obama's 17%. Which says to me she cares more because she was there representing the issues. (Who is Obama??? and he does not have enough legislative history to answer that question)

    B. Senator Watson from Texas stumbled on national tv about Obama's legislative accomplishments. If his representatives can represent him well then how can Obama represent me well? (The Clinton's have stood for over 30 years, where was Obama?)

    2) When Obama is speaking, he never really says anything of substance. He avoided immigration issues in his speech in Dallas but all issues were covered by Chelsea Clinton on the same day.

    3) I never want my son to come to me and say: "The president tried cociane, why can't I?" It wasn't right for Bill and it's not right for Obama. He represents this country. Hilary is not Bill!

This will not be published because the media is so anti-Clinton. But, I needed to say this and hope gets published so Hispanic voters start to educate themselves before they vote on March 4th.

Obama owns up to cannabis, cocaine use as teen
    10:20AM Monday February 12, 2007
    By Andrew Buncombe
WASHINGTON - Bill Clinton famously admitted to having smoked marijuana but denied having ever inhaled.
"When I was in England, I experimented with marijuana a time or two, and I didn't like it," he said. "I didn't inhale and never tried it again."

His successor, George Bush, while acknowledging a near-alcoholic past, refused to say whether he had ever taken illegal drugs. In 1999, he said: "I've told the people of this country that, over 20 years ago, I made some mistakes when I was younger. I've learnt from those mistakes."
But a generation later there seems to be less bashfulness about the topic and controlling the message appears to be the key.

Barack Obama, the Democratic senator who has formally announced his bid to become America's first black president, long ago admitted taking both cannabis and cocaine while he was a teenager.
In a 1995 memoir, Dreams From My Father, he wrote: "Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it. Not smack [heroin] though."
