Obama has 1319 delegates, Clinton has 1250, a difference of only 69. It takes 2025 to win and this means Obama needs 706 or 49%, Clinton needs 775 or 54% This is a difference of 6%. By no means is the game over yet. It is better for both candidates if one wins and the other looses. No one should have bragging rights due to a forfit.

I think Hillary should give it up, she has shown how vile, hard, and unsympathetic she is. Every time she gets on the stage with a child, older senior citizenm, or an hispanic she tries to act likes she cares. But we all know she doesn't care and would be a disaster as a President. Her daughter has been so programed growing up in this environment, she also comes across false. Needless to say, we sure do not want Bill in the whitehouse to start his sex scandals all over again, that would certainly show to the European Countries how weak our President is, that she would put up with him and all of his women.

Hillary's last stand will be March 4th in Ohio and Texas. With as much money, time and momentum that Obamas ground troops have had, I expect Clinton to lose both. THEN, it's over.
She must ride her ponies into the Rio Grande just as Custer rode into the Little Big Horn. Confident of victory.

I love the idea of our Nation's first female president, but I don't consider Hillary to be a women. She is more like an evil witch in politocians clothes. She has a very nasty temperment and that side of her is about to come shining through. We need a president with some class and that is not her. If she wins I want to move out of the country. The scariest thing about Hillary is that she thinks she is above the law and should be treated like a godess or something. WHat is all this experience she keeps talking about anyways?

I think he has it all wrong. She should stay and fight. I can't afford Obama's healthcare plan. hers will never pass. I don't need a movement, I need a President. I will not vote Obama.

I agree with the author of this article. Sen Hilary Clinton should just exit gracefully, she's on the loosing streak 11-0. This is just a sign of a no win situation... the longer she stays in, the more vulnerable the democratic party will be with the republicans come November.

I am african american and I voted for Hillary. Pretty speeches don't sway me . If he thinks that partisanship is going to end when he is in office, then he is a fool.

  • Posted By: bolderdash @ 02/25/2008 4:51:56 PM

For the sake of the Democratic Party it's time for Hillary to step aside! She is on attack mode in desperation and this hurts all Democrats.

She is fast becoming the Britney Spears of the political world. She needs to do herself a favor and withdraw now if she wishes to have any kind of political future in the Democratic party.

While the comment that Obama is "all suit" is a slight stretch, I don't believe I am ready to entrust the mess being left behind by Bush to someone with his limited experience. Hillary Clinton, like the rest of us, is imperfect. However, I have no doubt that she is committed to this country, that she has hardened experience, and she has bigger cajones than most men she deals with. I will support whichever Democratic candidate is the nominee. However, I hope for our country that it is Hillary - she's the right person for this time in our history.

If Hillary Clinton intends to run the country like she has run her campaign then we are all going to be sunk if she becomes president. They say Barack doesn't have enough experience to be president but look at the way he has run his campaign and the caliber of the people he has surrounded himself with. If he can run the country as intelligently as he has his run for the nomination then I think we stand a very good chance of turning things around. I remember Bill and Hillary fondly. They were a lot of fun to watch, even when they were embarrassing the country with their soap opera White House antics. But this time we need a president who really is intelligent and has the capacity to bring people together. Lets go for the guy that taught constitutional law and, after all these years, was able to get young people involved in politics again. Let's hire Barack this time.

There is one overwhelming reason why things have turned out the way they have. It is so very simple that the elite media just couldn't conjure up the courage to say it: Simply stated...People just hate that ***. Plain and simple. She's never been as popular as the wet-dreamers at the New York Times wished she was. She is as crooked and conniving as her husband. She is the epitome of the phrase "damaged goods".

It's pretty clear, Obama wins the nomination not because he is black, not because he is a visionary, not because his ideas are superior...but simply by virtue of the fact that he is not Hillary. A vote for Obama is a vote against Hillary. She's that despised by even yellow-dog dems that she stands no chance. The fact that she ever believed she did is a testament to her own egomaniacal character.

The sexism on this blog is blinding. When a woman doesn't give up just because others wants her to, she has no class. Shen she fights for her political career she is not gracious. She is a human , that is a woman running for president. She is not auditioning to be a Russian ballerina . Stop asking her to be gracious and has class. This is not 1950's. It's only a matter of time before someone starts asking that she quits running and starts baking cookies for the PTA.

PS. Politics is not for the thin skin. If you cstand the heat get out of the kitchen.

Amen - The Hillary supporters should look to the future. We have no chance of winning the national election if we nominate Hillary. Much of this country, outside the Democratic party, will support Obama in the national election. Mr. McCain will also have a wealth of old scandals and circumstances to bring out against Hillary. Not so likely with Senator Obama. Before you vote in the primary and caucuses, you should really think about this.

Comment: None of this has anything to do with "sexism", as suggested by coolrepublica. This has to do with logic and probability. Hillary's chance for victory is all but over and to beat McCain it is critical that the Democrates begin working as one. Clinton's and Obama's continued battle will only provide the Republican's with more food for the trough.

The bottom line is that Obama is running against two people, Hillary and McCain who represent the past and whose campaign oratory makes ones eyes glaze over compared to his. His message is forward, McCain's message is backward, and Hillary's message is lets keep fighting everybody who disagrees with us. People are just fed up with partisanship and gridlock and fear mongering. Obama is not an unknown guantity to anyone who has bothered to read his biography and his record. He is the real deal when it comes to his committment to social progress. He was president of the Harvard Law Review and he graduated magna *** laude. He could have written his own ticket on Wall Street, in Boston, or in Philladelphia, but he returned to Chicago to do organizing and public interest law. He was successful and well respected in the Illinois legislature. He has the same level of experience that Abraham Lincoln had when he was elected except that Obama is much better educated and much more travelled. This is a test for the American public. Are you ready to live in a post-racial society where you are willing to accept the leadership of a black man or aren't you? That is the real question. Hillary is entitled to see his hand in Texas, and Ohio. If it goes down like the last eleven states, then she needs to choose.

Agree...It is nice to see someone talk about how qualified he is rather then trying to disqualify him. People are starting to see how qualified he is. It is sad to see that some, like Hilary want to take away and talk bad about his vision and goals.

      • Posted By: changen2008 @ 02/25/2008 3:51:32 PM

        I agree,

Remember Hillary's finest moment, at the very end of the debate, when she spoke with heart-felt sincerity about the hits she had taken, and how they were nothing compared to the hits the American people take every day, and the whole crowd stood and applauded? Well, this turns out to be a Xerox moment. The idea and the very words were lifted from a 1992 Bill Clinton speech.

The clip was shown briefly on Wolf Blitzer's Situation Room the day after the debate, and written up in an article on the CNN website:

        http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/02/22/clinton-faces-claims-of-borrowed-language/

But reporters and commentators still continue to praise Hillary for that speech. I was fooled too. We we all duped. This says alot about her character, and voters need to know.

Hillary Clinton answered a question ,she did not make a speech nor were the words used by her verbatim of what Bill Clinton said over 8 years ago or What John Edwards said months ago. Some answers to questions would start out the same no matter who is answering. Look how easily influenced you are by the medias attempt to put hillary down. Get your facts straight, when she uses someone's words in a speaach and claims them as her own, then we can talk.

I can't believe what you just wrote. If you don't see that Hillary said the exact same thing as Bill did in 1992, you are not being honest with yourself. I don't think your Queen Hillary is capable of doing anything wrong in your eyes!

The woman needs professional psychiatric help. What she does not need is to continue running her reputation into the ground. She's turning into the Britney Spears of the political world and to step aside gracefully now would be the only thing that would allow her to remain in the political areana in the future at all.
