People like the writer of this article are intimated with a brilliant, intelligent woman like Hillary. I'm not at all surprised.
Hillary, don't ever quit because these bozos says so! The country needs you!
The media continues its hatchet job on Hillary Clinton .
Hillary is done. Stick a fork in her.
No - You Obama-ites are done. Stick a fork in your racist, sexist, age-ist candidate.,
Hillary= Sexist, pridefull, arrogant, moody, egotistical, hatefull, divider. Sounds like a good leader. She done.
Look just because less than 50% of you think Hillary should (deserves to?) be President you have got to look realistically at what your fellow Democratic voters are saying. THEY DON'T AGREE and in large numbers. It can't be denied, or explained away as ignorant voters, or a slight against women etc. Her message is not resonating with the American people because it is condescending, it comes with unacceptable baggage, and its proven to be power hungry.
that's your opinion cbernami, and you're entitled to it. but don't concoct baseless rationales or try to acribe motivations to an entire electorate. we have a close race between two attractive candidates. you may not like senator clinton, and if you don't , don't vote for her. but lots, and lots and lots of people think she would be a great president. it's not by accident, or because of her husband, that millions of people have voted for her--yes, many millions of people. she is tough, experienced, committed, and knowledgeable. you may not like her, but who cares? go have a beer with bush, and then you both can go into detox while the rest of the country works us out of the ditch he (and people who blindly followed his empty promises) drove us into. this is not a popularity contest, or a rhetorical debate. it's a serious decision about who will make the best president in very challenging and dangerous times. an inexperienced senator who decided to run for president before he even had one year in federal office? if you're willing to gamble on him, that's your democratic right. but i happen to think that would be a mistake. i'm not looking for a friend or someone to replace my priest on Sunday's. i'm looking for someone who can lead our Nation against all threats, foreign and domestic, and put our economy back on track. Hillary Clinton is the best candidate.
How did I become an alcholic in detox? I thought I felt funny this morning thought I was just compassion fatigued.
You say millions want Hillary and I agree with you but more millions want Obama.
I will not be voting for either thank you just watching with interest. Why? Because I voted for Bush and am not happy with the job he has done. If there was a democrat who I felt could do a better job it would be considered. Will you vote for Obama if Hillary is not the candidate?
I think you have a gender problem. Sometimes I think the reason why this world is crumbling down, is that, commentators like you exist and get paid to write stupid stuff. If Obama is trailing 60 points, you will be writing something else, like, "there is no reason for Obama to give up, even if he trails 1000 points".
Both Clinton and McCain are railing against Obama's "hope" message. And both claim to be religious. Perhaps they should read I Corinthians 13:13 - "Now abides Hope, Faith and Charity, these three...." Even a non-religious person like myself, knows that "hope" is one of the three cardinal virtues of humanity.
I am so sick of the media coverage of HRC. You are so biased and as a media as a whole, you shouldn't be. Take your pick, do you want HRC to be polite and nice to Barrack or critical, either way its a lose lose situation. Newsweek is one of the worst media coverages out there. I would like to see you out there with all negative attention. Obama is now 11 points behind Clinton in Ohio, so I would like to know how he is closing in the gap, seeing how last week he was 7 points behind. And PA will def no support Obama, look at the pools, especiall with the Governor endorser hear. I think you get your facts straight, and stop being a biased *** and do your job correctly. Better yet, lets hold hands and talk about and sing camp fire songs with the terrorists and see if we can work out our problems just as Obama says. Newsweek and Obama can shove it up there ass. Obama is nothing but a Jimmy Carter in the *** making, he is a fluff and so are you Newsweek, SHAME ON YOU
Easy to cut and paste??? It looks like you are worse then the media. I guess it is true, haters love to hate. Try talking about issues and why you disagree. You sound ignorant. Try thinking before you share your opinion. Try and get people to understand your ideas. I know this might be a big challenge.
You are out to lunch...part of this process is to have choices. Regardless of how I feel about each of the candidates, this is part of the democratic process. Unforfunately, the power of the media is strong against an easily swayed, frenzied general public, and you, the conservative media, know that. Bush the 1st wone on rhetoric..."A thousand points of light". Bush the 2nd won on Compasionate conversvative and a uniter not a divider....when all the while he banrupted any company he ran and has bankrupted the country. BOthe same...style and littls substance. Even his supporters cannot articulate his positions and anything substantive about his candidacy. Shame on you for printing this article when you know what influence you have with an ignorant public! You are the worst kind of media manipulator.
I think Hillary should stick it out until her only hope of winning is the superdelegates. Then, even though she might have a chance of brokering her way to a nomination she could demonstrate class and party loyalty and concern for the future of the country by bowing out.
I favor Obama and my wife is emotionally devoted to Hillary and the idea of a woman president. For the sake of all the women who have pinned their hopes on Hillary she should stick it out until her only shot is a backroom deal which she should refuse to do. That way her devotees would understand that she gave it her all and that they too should follow Obama as the Democratic nominee. I have a strong hunch that Obama will be looking for a female running mate or at least several top rank female cabinet members. He is a good politician and will see that women need to be integral to his administration,
Thank you Jonathan for your column. Hillary Clinton is putting the future of the Democratic party at risk for the next generation by continuing her campaign. When she insults Obama's "big rallys," the "inspiration" etc., she really is, in effect, insulting Democratic voters. I understand perfectly that she wants us to know she can be the biggest, meanest battle-ax on the block; I just wish she understood that I don't think that is productive, nor do I want to listen to that for the next 4 years. She can choose to be as shrill or theatrical as she likes, but she's turning off Democrats. Hillary --- you don't get people to vote for you by yelling at them and frankly, you don't get much done anywhere with anyone by yelling at them. Please just quit and go home.
Oh, and Obama says things like "Her people will vote for me, but mine won't vote for her." He snubs her and is disrespectful. Oh, but he is male; so, that is okay! We need a Svengali to lead us after all we have had a cocky, unexperienced, untried, uniter as President for the past seven plus years, why not have another one.
Calm down Blue. Hillary is deviding the party and lossing. Sorry that upsets you and other dedicated supports, but it is time to move forward. Obama has been professional unlike Hillary. She lets her emotions get the best of her. The article simply shows that if she stays in the race the polictics will get ugly. She will justify the bad and unwanted politics for her pride to win. That is something we do not need to see.
Hillary is a fighter. She's not going to quit and I don't think she should. The media and the Republicans love Obama bec. he can be beat easily not like Hillary. They are intimicated by women like Hillary especially after how she performed during the debate in Austin. She's ready, vested and tested! She's the one! No other candidate can measure up. Go Hillary! Now, I won't be surprise if this comment didn't get posted since I know who the media is rooting for.
Does is really matter which one we send to the gallows? Neither has a chance. Hillary is almost as divisive as Obama. Just because Obama is black, doesn???t mean we have to like him.
Hillary lacks the class to pull out soon. She and Bill will do EVERYTHING possible to claw their way back into the White House. ENOUGH CLINTON AND BUSH DYNASTIES. Vote Obama !!!
Agree, thank you for telling it like it is.
Hillary is correct about Obama being all talk & no action. She proved that point well in the Texas debate. While Clinton spent her energy attacking (a very definitive action) Obama focused on discussing (more talk, how boring)his plans and proposals. Come to think of it she really didn't give a whole lot of details about her plans. Hillary must have been caught up in the moment, the act of doing (another action) rather than just more worthless talk, which is perfectly ok in my book.
Clearly you did not watch the entire debate...because I heard nothing great about her words and Obama clearly indicated his actions are speaking just as loud as his words.....check your facts or should I say check the polls.....
Oops forgot to put my disclaimer on that last remark.
Beware of sarcasm.
Corny just like Hillary!! Have a nice day!
ralp nader says obama was pro palestian, howq dare you connecticut you guys are gestapo jews, smart jews like me in calfiorniaand smart jews in new york and new jersey went for hilllary 90 percent to 10 percent because we know the very threat of islam. and hispanics are polling inhillarys favorite by 80 percento 20 for hillary in new polls so sionce calif were she got 67 percentot 33 poewrcent, obama has not made any inroads in hispanic community and the hispanic commmunity along with jewish communtiy along with asian community will vote for mccain if obama is elected nominee so you people have no other chocie but to vote for hillary!!!!
I don't know where you are getting your facts from but they don't reflect reality. I am a hispanic woman and I along with most of other hispanics I know will never, ever vote for Hillary. The 70-80% of hispanics you are quoting for Hillary is a myth, it is probably more like 30-40%. The better educated hispanics will be voting for Obama just like most Americans in their demographics.
Since the debate, hillary has gone back to her old ways. The clintons are dangerous. If i were Obama i would be very scared. Alot of Obama supporters still remember Vincent Foster. I think hillary may be schezo.
Comment: The following is a quote from Barack Obama's Dreams from my Father. If that doesn't reveal an angry person, I don't know what does!! "We were always playing on the white man's court...by the white man's rules....If the principal, or the coach, or a teacher...wanted to spit in your face, he could, because he had the power and you didn't...The only thing you could choose was withdrawal into a smaller and smaller coil of rage."
Cut and paste is easy. It would be nice if you could talk about a current issue.
Indeed, the longer Clinton stays in the race and continues to escalate the scorched earth policy, the tougher it will be for her to ever run again. But then, everything she has done over the last eight years has prepared for this moment - the acquisition of a Senate seat so she could claim experience, the lack of activity and moderate voting record as Senator designed to provide a defense against the Republican attack machine (the war vote seemed like a no-brainer at the time), the luke-warm, even undermining support for Gore and Kerry, the incessant deal-making with donors. She has waited so long and worked so hard for this crowning moment how can she admit the diadem has slipped from her grasp, how can she do anything but try and snatch it from the victor???s head as if it was rightfully hers?
What on eath are you talking about .?
I'm a democrat who hereby pledges to vote McCain if Obama wins. I refuse to drink the koolaid or assist that vapid windbag in becoming president.
what do you mean by kool-aide you stupid person white people drink kool-aid as well
Since Hillary Clinton constantly refers to her concern for children, I am surprised that we haven't seen more questions about her the Clinton's abondonment of the principles of the the National Children's Defense Fund, or the Clinton staffer who resigned as a result.
Additionally, the Clinton's response to race and povery has always been symbolic and not substantive; and that's not good enough anymore.
I also find it intresting that Bill Clinton often began his campaign speeches with the statement "I'm from a place called Hope (Arkansas);" in their critism of their opponent, the Clintons appear to be suggesting that hope is only for some and not a universival attribute.
The attempt to use incite fear by religion bating is deplorable and un-American; shame on the Clinton campaign; it's a character issue that Hillary is losing and appears so determined to make sure that she takes another human being down with her.
