Looks like Fineman is desperate to criticize McCain for something, but doesn' really know what.

    "IN HILLARy WE TRUST"
My sources HAVE assured me that HILLARy WILL WIN By MORE THAN FIVE POINTS IN TEXAS AND By DOuBLE DIGITS IN OHIO. SHE will also take Rhode ISLAND but lose Vermont by seven points. HILLARy's door to door camPaign was very successful in both states.

FOR SOME REASON THE HUSSEIN NAME HAS SCARED THE TEXAS FOLK. AND OHIO WAS ALWAyS A SURE VICTORy FOR HILLARy.

This article reflects the average excuse from reporters regarding why McCain gets a free ride.

"Those of us on the Straight Talk Express eight years ago got a breathtaking journalistic opportunity: to be inside the lively mind and heart of a leading contender for president. McCain was as joyously combative as Popeye and as earnestly confessional as Oprah. Now, in the wake of the Times story, the old bus has, in effect, been put up on cinder blocks..."

I voted for McCain in 2000. But the straight talk has been on cinder blocks for a long time. His unreflective support for the war in 2002-2003, and his insistence that it would be short. His failure to call for more troops when it became obvious they were required in 2003, but his very public accolades for Bush in 2004.

Now he runs around claiming he was a long-time critic of the way the war was waged. Pfui.

He endorses making the Bush tax cuts permanent, while also endorsing a war that, according to a Nobel laureate economist, has already indebted the US for $3 trillion. And he claims he is a fiscal conservative.

A straight talker who held those positions would make iut clear that almost every other program except the war would have to be decimated to support the war at an average cost of $2000 per capita for every US resident per year. (Try dividing $3trillion by 300 million people and 5 years --oh, yes, I forgot --reporters don't DO arithmetic.)

So feel sorry for mCCain all you want. From any dispassionate point of view, he is just another serial liar occassionally overwhelmed by remorse.

Good for him. Shame on the media.

You bet,At that time on Iraq vote Hillary voted with the majority of the people and with 77 senators who voted for it assuming that stupid Bush will not go for a preemptive war. Now majority is against the war and so does she. WHAT IS A BIG DEAL? I think majority of young people are stupid any where in the world and more in the USA. They say experience is not required. Let me tell you if we have professors in the college without any experience how good they can teach you? Same way a leader has to be stable and experienced person to lead the nation. I agree that some times experienced person makes mistakes too. But it is always better to have experienced person than in experienced when they are alike on 95% of the issues.

So many blacks are voting for Obama blindly, So when he becomes president he will be compelled to do good for them. And it may go till whites feel it is unfair. Also criminals will be flying high hoping he will not punish them. What would you do? Impeach Obama? No one thinks on the long term effects. And many politicians are just jealous of Clinton they are not looking into the interest of the USA, period.

The best solution is to have Obama as VP and Hillary as president. This way he will gain good experience and may be both will be president having Democratic ruling for next 16 years. It will be a WIN-WIN situation. The John McCain???s feet will be trembling!!!

Good, insightful article. Lobbyist get what they want because they have the money clout. Where do they get that money? From the people ... the ordinary citizen-taxpayer-voter. So the money and the votes really come from the ordinary citizen-taxpayer-voter and politicians are elected by the ordinary citizen-taxpayer-voter. But the ordinary citizen-taxpayer-voter gets the hollow shibboleth "lip-service" while only the Lobbyists get the results. What's the lesson? The ordinary citizen-taxpayer-voter needs to develop a learning curve for recognizing these relatively obvious tell-tale signs (circumstance that don't pass the smell test) and start voting for someone else.

As a long time viewer of Countdown, I agree with Marty63. I am very disappointed.

Straight Talk Express or the BS Beltway Shuttle? Washington DC's favorite candidate is an embarassment to the Republican party and the thrumping he is going to take at the hands of Barack Obama in November may mark the end of my party. Actually it serves us right- the all time lower voter turnout in our primaries allows the crooks to rule.

With the help of the press Obama will beat McCain, however I do not think that Obama will be there on the part of Ordinary citizen unless he can get some press from it. As a constituent of Mr Obama's I have contacted his office on 2 occasions about a public official in our local government that lied under oath, and committed perjury, trying to cover up the fact that he intentionally failed to do his job. If Mr Obama had requested the evidence that I had and after looking at it felt there was no reason for the U,S, attorneys office in Central Illinios to investigate I could accept his decision. But as my Senator(and a candidate that is always bringing up conversations he has had with the "people" he nor his senate office has even bothered to let me know that they recieved my fax or e-mail. So there is no way that I can believe that he is interested in representing the american people in the future anymore than he represents the citizens of Illinois now.

Howard I am in no way a supporter of McCain, but I think that if the press, Written & TV took an honest look at itself they would see that it is they way the press has changed as much as McCain. Clearly this election season anyone who has bothered to read or listen can tell that the press is not writing about the campaigns but are actually campaigning for a certian candidate. When we reach the point that the press is actually out there campaigning for one candidate the freedom of the press becomes void, and I truly believe that when reporters (and magazines such as newsweek) should be upfront and tell the public upfront that their candidate is Barack Obama before each article they write.

Hi Howard, please do me a favor and tell Keith O. at Countdown next time you see him that now more than ever I think he "LE ACARREA EL AGUA A MR OBAMA" and that I thought that he was a fair man, and he has used his program to discredit Mrs Clinton; next time he has the urge to bash Fox Noise for being the propaganda machine for the GOP he might just wanna take a quick look at the mirror himself.

If McCain's hands are tied, it's because McCain tied the knot himself. The reaction to McCain now by the media, is the same reaction McCain got by the Republicans when he was labeled a Maverick. As you can see there are many parts of McCain. If some think McCain is too liberal, it's OK to say so. If some think McCain is too Conservative, it's also OK to say so. You can't please everyone, especially the critics. Everything must be brought out in the open. The positive and the negative. No one is perfect. Especially McCain, Hillary, or Obama.

You Media people are all so pathetic. I am embarrassed and ashamed of everyone. I am 54 years old and have never seen anything like this. There are no good articles to read anymore and certainly not one thing to watch on TV to get news that isn't so over the top in favor of Obama that is makes you want to scream.
Let's turn on the news and watch the talking heads show the people fainting, the people applauding because Obama blew his nose, oh look lets ask the Senator why he endorsed Obama - what does he satnd for - what are his accomplishments???? Gee, I don't know - I can't name one!!!!! WAKE UP.

Give it up Fineman. This is turning into the boy who cried wolf. I always thought you were above the partisan garbage but I should have known better. Just so you know, Howard, the NYT didn't lay off those workers a month ago so they could make room to hire you, quit applying for a job with them by stroking their lost, legless story.

It's pretty simple Howard: The NYT ran a *** piece based on third hand unnamed sources and it fell flat. The only thing accomplished is you made the right more simpathetic to McCain. Something only you hacks could have accomplished. McCain 1, MSM 0. Next storie, please.

** Man files Federal Lawsuit against Obama regarding GAY sexual act and drug use claims **
A man named Larry Sinclair posted a video to YouTube claiming to have used cocaine and engaged in a gay sexual act with Obama when Obama was a state legislator in 1999.
In the video, Sinclair claims he and Obama met on two separate occasions, that Obama used crack cocaine and that Sinclair performed an oral sexual act on Obama both evenings.
Now Obama and company are quickly trying to quiet this man, but Sinclair has filed a federal lawsuit. Sinclair filed suit against Obama and his campaign guru David Axelrod in Minnesota district court for allegedly attempting to abridge Sinclair's right to free speech, and for waging an intimidation campaign against him.
check out the video on youtube for yourself:

Both MSNBC and the New York Post have verified the authenticity of the facts... will the American public have to wait until Obama gets the nomination to finally have this become public...1st on FOX News??? it will be too late for the Democratic Party... Obama needs to be fully vetted... seems like at the age of 40 someone was getting busy in the back of a limosine. Crack and gay sex... what a mess....
