Bill Clinton was also in a Turban as a sign of respect to where he visited.

So what is the beef about BO wearing it. This attack has failed again.

Circulate this picture, send it to CNN, FOX, MNSBC, all MSM!!!

This is a common sense approach. I hope Senator Obama reads it and takes it to heart. The independents and moderates will determine this election like they always do; these men all have integrity and are known on the national stage. Go Obama

How come only Republicans are considered "serious enough" to add gravitas to Obama's campaign? This sounds suspiciously like the Unity 2008 group that is filled with moderate Republicans terrified of being completely out of the loop because they did not have the courage to stand up to the extremists in their party. Sorry, there should be no place at the table for people who had any hand in enabling the Bush administration's destruction of our constititution and our government.

People who complain that Barack Obama lacks experience must be unaware of his legislative achievements. One reason these accomplishments are unfamiliar is that the media have not devoted enough attention to Obama's bills and the effort required to pass them, ignoring impressive, hard evidence of his character and ability.
Since most of Obama's legislation was enacted in Illinois, most of the evidence is found there -- and it has been largely ignored by the media in a kind of Washington snobbery that assumes state legislatures are not to be taken seriously. (Another factor is reporters' fascination with the horse race at the expense of substance that they assume is boring, a fascination that despite being ridiculed for years continues to dominate political journalism.)

I know how Obama will beat McCain in November.

    Video clips of McCain saying/singing:

    Bomb Bomb Bomb

    Bomb Bomb Iran

    and.....

McCain saying we could be in Iraq another 100 years.

Yeah.....he sounds like a GREAT Commander in Chief.......continue to desimate or Military.

I know EXACTLY how Barack Obama can beat McCain.

Keep showing McCain's speech about 100 years in IRAQ . And show the clip of McCain's.....Bomb Bomb Bomb, Bomb Bomb Iran.

Yeah.....he sure looks like the Candidate of "Change" and just think of what he will do for our already dissemated Military.

How dare you write as if Obama has aready one the Nomination... I am so sick and tired of this campaign, this election is based off nothing but race and extreme media coverage of Obama... I am tired of it... thanks for handing the campaign over to a person that will act like a scared little boy once in office! Good Job!

I am an Obama supporter but am genuinely concerned about how he will face these issues once the genneral election kicks off. The strategy you suggest is both proactive and shows the unity that Obama represents. Taking these actions sooner than later would also help unify the Democrat base and dispense of Clinton and her attacks on these same issues.

All he needs to do to win is show who McCain truly is. Let's see McCain wants 100 more years in Iraq, McBush tax cuts for the wealthy, and chases lobbyist skirts. McCain has the worst qualities of the past two presidents that we cand do without.

Wonderful commentary by a political veteran. Perhaps there is a place for Mr. Jordan on Obama's short list of political advisors. His strongest point is the need to repel the "Republican attack machine" by elevating the discourse, not wallowing in it. And I love his choices for Cabinet, all respected individuals with superb track records.

Chicago holds alot of skeletons in Obama's closet. Next week they may all be revealed. Some of the people indicted in the corruption charges are singing like a canary. Everyone involved could be brought down.

Good try lillea but the Rezko incident won't negatively effect OBAMA. Find some other 'mud' to throw but this won't work.

November is a long way away...

  • Posted By: drellen @ 02/25/2008 3:46:32 PM

What words of wisdom! If the Obama campaign is smart they'll be calling Mr. Jordan today! For all of the Obama almost supporters who worry about his experience in running our country, Hamilton Jordan's proposals give us the best of both worlds, change and experience. Thank you Hamilton. Stay off the phone so Obama can call!

So even his admirers admit Obama is so green, risky, liberal, and inexperienced that he cannot win on his own merits, and will need to bring in experienced, centrist, capable old white guys to prove himself? So much for change.

This article perfectly encapsulates why Obama will lose in November: if he needs all the extra help to show he can get the job done, he is not ready to to be commander-in-chief.

Hillary Clinton and John McCain don't need an assist for voters to know they are strong, capaoble leaders.

Obama supporters have balked at the idea of another Bill/Hillary co-presidency. Why would I vote for a Obama/Bloomberg/Hagel/Nunn presidency when I can just vote for McCain?

    Gene Taylor for VP.

I know Gene Taylor might not be well known outside of the South, but he's a conservative Dem who served in the Coast Guard and did wonderful things in the aftermath of Katrina.

Having a running mate from Mississippi would be a stroke of genius. Whoever is the vp candidate with Obama has to have had military service.

Obama's pick for vice president will probably be the most important selection for this slot since JFK chose LBJ.

    • Posted By: StrongArm @ 02/25/2008 3:35:27 PM

Awesome post!! Gene Taylor was one of those folks who rolled up his sleeves and got in there with no real fan fare. I like him and what he stands for!

Very thoughtful article. I would suggest ading Jane Harmon to the list as a possible VP

  • Posted By: billwallace27 @ 02/25/2008 3:33:52 PM

So I hope someone will e-mail this article to Obama. Maybe we all should.

  • Posted By: Kevin Lofton @ 02/25/2008 3:33:18 PM

Very thoughtful article. i was also thinking that he should lean toward Jane harmon as VP.
