I'm Mexican-American, and it's sad to see this happen to Mexico; I still have lots of family there and some live in Sinaloa, which is just as bad, if not worse. Before anyone starts blaming the drug dealers, I think they should take a look at the government. Once the government is rid of all it's corrupt officials, then maybe Mexico will have a chance....

Wow. I didn't know it was that bad on the border. Once again, it seems to me that a national concealed carry law would allow citizens to protect themselves from this growing threat. By the way, free our Border Patorl Agents who have been wrongly jailed. These guys are good and did nothing wrong. Sure hope those gang bangers don't get up to Missouri (KC and St Louis don't count as Missouri) because we will give them a Missouri welcome sound - the cycling of a 12 ga round into the chamber.

I'm sure the Mexican criminals are just completely confused. It has been demonstrated boldly, publicly and repeatedly that our law enforcement agencies are hogtied when a Mexican commits a crime either against or in the United States. Our own Congress has plainly let it be known that they believe it is in the best interests of the United States to look the other way and not respond to the criminal, illegal immigration flood that has taken place over the years. So, isn't it logical to think that the criminals are the real victims here? They're just confused. They haven't been told that there is a distinction made by the United States authorities and that when they start kidnapping, raping and blackmailing Americans, THEN it will be treated as a crime and they mustn't do those bad things.

I'm sure that's all it is. They're just confused. Maybe the Mexican President can come back to the United States and lecture us again about how we are to handle this Mexican criminal activity.

How about NOT going to these places, and keep the tourism dollars in America. Maybe after the mexican gov. loses a crap load more of there tourist bucks theyll start to hang these thugs in public as an example to the other thugs...Keep hanging them without remorse until they realize that its not worth there lives or the bucks to kidnap anyone. Wake up America! I worked for the Federal Government at one of the Ports of Entry along the Arizona border. The US border with Mexico is just one big criminal enterprize. It is a very dangerous place, that the US Government doesn't want you to know. The president of the United States refuses to secure the borders.

I am a consultant for GBM Marketing and worked in Northern Baja last year for a home developer named The Waterfront Development Company. I am also an avid Baja traveler enjoying the camping, culture and nature the peninsula offers. Last year I was pulled over more times by the local police than all seventeen some odd years I have been crossing the border combined. Every instance was minor yet the feeling was uneasy. Something needs to be done on a catastrophic level by the TJ and Rosarito authorities to turn the tide or Baja will go dormant again with few appearances by people like me.

Nations are not murdered. They commit suicide. Permitting what we do on that border to go unchecked shows that we are not the Americans of long ago. Those Americans would have had some of our life long polticans thrown out of this nation before permitting the selling of Americ they have now stooped to.

Congrats to Newsweek for having the courage to investiage and print this story. I am going to start my subscription up again. After being a loyal reader for all of my adult life, I stopped it when they printed nothing but propaganda on that border and the war that rages down there. In a side note, that is a little funny and a lot side, with all of the lies and confusion about the Fence on our Border, One small Mexican Town has been reported as having taking a vote and 90% of the people there want the border fence to be extended to protect their village too. We have let the militant Chicanos still the voice of gentle Mexicans who live inside Mexico, love their nation and would like to go on living too.

Tonight I saw two bits of Senator Ted Kennedy singing in Spanish on the Texas Border. He was singing how far from Neuvo Larado? Where over 300 young girls have dissappeared. Where the Mexican House of Death even got the USA investigator murdered. Where drug cartels have cut the heads from Mexican police and drumped their bodies into vats of acids. He sang a song of keeping our borders open not twenty miles from where lawless cities cannot keep a sheriff or where even the Mexican Police cannot bring some sanity to that tormented land. Kennedy and his ilk, and they are Republican Politicans as well as Democratic Politics on his Open Borders sides, and included are all three Democrats currently running for office.
Their political agenda is more important to them, their poltical party so they don't talk about the Border. If they don't talk about it, the Main Stream Media (accurately protratyed on SNL) certainly will not research something and besides...when some iinvestiages the war zone on our border..one is called a racist.
