Great. Obama is a gender bender now.

itory like the Military history lesson article as it shows his true nature as ignorant of how the system actually works. he has also shown naivete with his comments on talks with the Cuban regime. we dont need this wimp for president, he is going to get eaten up by ahmedjani/gulf states/ chavez etc. all these rogue nations are salivating at the fact that they would be able to have talks and try to extract concesions and financial aid as his program is obviously one of appeasement. See preww2 and neville chamberlains appeasement of Hitler to prevent ww2. worked great didn't it? he has no strategy or tactics and would bring America down discounting our great power and place in the world. dont vote for this wimp

Is there some reason you think that saying the same thing over and over is going to change people's minds? I would like to refer you to the comment quoted from Bill Clinton in the article above about people who keep trying to do the same thing and expect a different result.

MCCain has arthritis in his brain. He is an old man from the old school politics, He does not have the energy and enthusiasm. Hillary is over excessively emotional and she needs anger management. Her jealooussy of Obama is revealed.. Obama has grace and enthusiasm, a wonderful personality. He is genuine.

TO THOSE WHO WOULD CAST THEIR VOTE FOR ANYONE WHO SIMPLY TALKS EMPTY RHETORIC ABOUT "CHANGE" WITHOUT ANY REAL EVIDENCE THAT THEY HAVE THE ABILITY, KNOWLEDGE OR INCLINATION TO ACTUALLY FACILITATE "CHANGE", I GUESS RON WHITE WAS CORRECT WHEN HE SAID "YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID".

    • Posted By: Johnsonium @ 02/26/2008 3:14:52 PM

But you can, and should fix your 'Caps Lock' key.

      Go Obama!

      • Posted By: jaimehlers @ 02/26/2008 4:45:42 PM

Very true. While it's true that one can sift gold from dross, I generally choose not to try sifting meaning from one who posts in all caps.

totall in agreement with you sir. I am so happy tht their are many others who can see the empty rhetoric and the cult of personality that has evolved in regards to Obams. I think he has change...for a dollar 3 quarters two dimes and a nickel. thats about all the change you will get with an idealist such as mr. Obama. remember the carter admin.. idealists who wer also going to change washington. boy did he ever get egg on his face from home and abroad. the problem is we got it too in the form of true world embarrasment with blindfolded americans on tv for 400 plus days a high double digit intrest rate and lost burned helicopters with servicemen who died embarrasingly and futilely. at least now we have an impressive kill ratio in iraq and afghanistan even tho its never mentioned in the media. the naive will votewith their candidate as they are all idealists who know very little about the actual issues and the complexity involved.

      • Posted By: Johnsonium @ 02/26/2008 3:34:45 PM

Wow. We went from the all-caps guy, to the no paragraphs or even proper sentence guy. You two are perfect spokespeople for the intellectual robustness of your brethren. By all means, keep going.

maybe you could comment on the content of the post rather than its form ? did you read the content? do you disagree? rebut my points individually if you can sir or you can continue to criticize form.

Arguing with ignorance is a waste of time. In order to have a decent discussion, a person has to make a cogent point in the first place. Engaging people who express half thoughts, regurgitated talking points, and ill-conceived logic is only emboldening them.

        • Posted By: miamiman @ 02/26/2008 3:38:01 PM

are you a grammar proffessor? do you have something relevant to discuss?

            What's a 'proffessor'?

I WANT TO FIX HILLARY CLINTON FOR STAYING WITH BILL WHEN SHE SHOULD HAVE DIVORCED HIM OVER:
    1. HIS ANTIMASTURBATION
    2. HIS CHEATING ADULTERY
ALSO IM AGAINST HER NOT LISTENING TO ME ABOUT VOTING AGAINST THE ANTI POKER BILL (PHONE CALLS, LETTERS) AND RECEIVING FUNDING FROM HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANIES WHEN THEY ARE ALREADY OVERCHARGING AND AGE DISCRIMINATING. I ALSO BELIEVE LIKE JOE LIEBERMAN THAT BILL CLINTON SHOULD HAVE BEEN IMPEACHED AFTER ILLEGALLY CHEATING ON HIS WIFE.

I am an independent voter that usually swings right. I really think the reason America is successful is because the two parties keep each other in the middle. I do not want the democratic "hand out days" to come back ...That's messing with my money. And I know Carter was a wimp, Bill was a cheat and Billary gets on my last nerve (she is just awful). But, I have never been a McCain fan either and I really like Huckaby but it's just too much of the same for me now, it seems like if one group of people are in office too long they get all puffed up are more likely to buddy up to special interests. Especially the current administration, I see the arrogance and intolerance for anything slightly different. Just look at these conserative posts as an example of "Today's Republican"
You just watch they will demonize any candidate that opposes them, it will be dirty and underhanded, Yes Clinton rants and makes an ass of her self but this is mild as compared to what we can expect after WE WIN! The terror alerts will raise and they will be the only ones to "save us". I am so tired to fighting the world....my nephew is on his 3rd tour in Baghdad and does not get to come home AGAIN! The military is holding it's own now because THEY ROCK but we don't let people come back, Mon's, Dad's and children gone to walk Bush's talk. Now I see that we discuss the need for a stronger presence in Iran and Pakistan? Who's kid is gonna take care of that? I thought my head would explode when we went after Iraq after 9/11. I so wanted Bin Ladin's head on a platter but he was gone POOF and we had to attack something and it was not going to be Bush's buddies in Afghanistan (where they been all along not just a terrorist but the actual group and man that bombed my country) so we hit Iraq instead and NO BODY EVEN NOTICED. We'll I noticed and that Sunday I was watching "This Week" and George was interviewing Barack. Turns out he noticed and said just what I was thinking and I picked him then and there. I actually said "man I wish he would run" I really hope the next administration who ever it is will loose the arrogence but keep the courage.

Oh, and quite frankly I wish the "honesty in Media" poster would come up with something new.

    baROCKthevote!!

ARGH! Only a man could have written this article. Enough said.
Oh one more thing--who is funding the under the table payouts on these types of articles in media?

  • Posted By: miamiman @ 02/26/2008 3:05:39 PM

he doesnt know the meaning of the word respect. the media likes to say that the US has lost respect on the world stage; on the contrary respect entails fear, admiration, they may despise us but this is a form of respect. human nature alows that you are naturally afraid of one more powerful than you and are relieved when he doesnt kill or enslave you. this may be harsh but upon analysis you will find this to be a valid veiwpoint. we cannot allow ourselves to initiate unilateral talks to these pesky rogue nations as fear controls them. they on the other hand are very good at posturing and making the most of their weak hand of cards. good poker players all. Obama had better not play poker as hhis strategy would be to have everyone look at everyone elses hand and hope that he can minimize his losses not win. he is not a winner only a talker in my veiw

    • Posted By: jaimehlers @ 02/26/2008 4:42:51 PM

Respect caused by fear is not respect. And it only lasts until people get tired of it. Remember how the Soviet Union used to try keeping their people in line through terror? Remember how the Soviet Union ended up? I'd rather not see something similar happen to America just because "fear controls them" (the "rogue" states). Because fear doesn't control people once they make up their minds to not let it.

microtek beleives in the premptive strike. "Kill your enemies NOW!"

One does not have to be naive to communicate with someone who disagrees with them, or is even their enemy. Cuba is a pefect example of us burying our head in the sand with a country next door while we trade with worse ...

  • Posted By: Boethius @ 02/26/2008 3:09:11 PM

    Replying to what Miamiman said:

Nixon went to China...was he a wimp? Reagan talked to the Russians...was he a wimp? Hiding from one's enemies by not confronting them headon through talks and ignoring them instead is true wimpiness.

    • Posted By: miamiman @ 02/26/2008 3:18:46 PM

sir: China and Russia (soviet Union at that time) are SUPERPOWERS, we were negotiating on the same level. Cuba/Iran/Venezuela/syria etc are small rogue states that must be controlled. we cannot control other superpowers we can then have talks and reach compromises as there are things we need from them and they need form us. the rogue state offers us nothing crucial only troublemaking to forward their own power and position in the world. how do you get a reputation? by fighting the biggest most powerful guy or at least challenging him and then finding an excuse to back down. hopefully you can make it seem that you stood up and gained something thereby furthering your status. this can happen only if the more powerful individual even lowers himself to the level of talk but more often that person would be beaten to a pulp. Understand?

      • Posted By: jaimehlers @ 02/26/2008 4:40:19 PM

We can't control small "rogue" states either, if you haven't noticed. Trying has only gotten us enmeshed in Iraq, and we have very limited ability to control what happens there. And countries aren't like people. It isn't a matter of the big guy (U.S.) beating up the little guy (whatever "rogue" state you want to mention), not that it ever does any real good even when you're talking about people.

You do know that's how bullies work, right? And how often does the bully just end up being resented for that? Eventually, someone will be able to stand up to the bully, and then what happens? Bully ends up getting beaten up himself, and all his former victims will probably take a piece out of his hide too.

There are ways to deflect and defeat a challenge like that without just holding a big stick over their heads. Obviously, I'm not suggesting this route for people we're actually fighting. But countries where we're not at war, like Cuba and Iran? It's a lot better to work with them (not give in, nor submit to extortion) than to attempt to threaten them into submission.

Obama a self-serving smirking male? That makes Clinton an over-confidant whiny female! She is loosing this election because she thought she was going to coast and made no plans for an effective campaign. Chris Mathews had it right, if it wasn't for her husband's presidency and ensuing infidelity she would be no political heavyweight at all. As a matter of fact she woudn't even be a senator for a state that she never lived in for any lenght of time before becoming its senator. Please save you scorned roaring for the choir!

    • Posted By: mlbuie @ 02/26/2008 4:36:30 PM

netzenpt, Hillary subordinated her pwersonal political goals and sacrificed opportunity to support her husband's bid. For all you know, she may have ALREADY been President if not for Bill! LOL!

  • Posted By: Ms. L @ 02/26/2008 4:34:08 PM

This article is ridiculous. Bill Clinton was "never" a black president and I wish that folks would stop repeating that nonsense. Just because someone plays the sax or can relate to a group of individuals doesn't make them the same when they're filling out job applications. Trust and believe that.

On another note, some of you people kill me with your defamation and loud talk about race and are truly showing your ignorance. I hope that Obama wins to unite this apartheid thats going on in this country.

    For OBAMA Followers:
Read this and sit back and think, if you have any brain.

The radio host told the crowd he'd had a dream about "Barack Hussein Obama's wonderful life a year from today." In the dream, he said, Obama was president and had just met with Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and was set to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jon Il. Then, Cunningham said, Obama was going to "saddle up" to Hezbollah.

"All's going to be right with the world when the great prophet from Chicago takes the stand, and the world leaders who want to kill us will simply be singing ["Kumbaya"] together around the table with Barack Obama," Cunningham continued.

  • Posted By: rooseveltsr @ 02/26/2008 4:33:18 PM

All of this calumny directed at Senator Obama is very revealing. Let's just be honest: it never occurred to most Americans that a Black man could be President although the Consitituion guarantees everyone the right to aspire to the office. Black people are okay as cooks, maids, entertainers, professional athletes or babysitters but when it comes to positions of authority, not so much. As shocking as it is, please know, Senator Obama is not the only articulate, well-educated, Black person in America, so there are likely to be others who will shock you that they can hold any job at any level. You don't have to run hiding from him; you don't have to hide your women from him; you don't have to clutch your pocketbooks when he enters a room. He is America's greatest gift to itself: an ulikely American who can do great things. Let's embrace him. You'll like yourself better in November.

  • Posted By: mlbuie @ 02/26/2008 4:33:01 PM

Of course Obama is not a 'literal' woman ... neither was Bill 'black'. But, there was legitimacy in the characterization. Not that he tried to be black or act black. But, there was enough familiarity in Bill's behaviors, good and bad ... enough empathy on his part for blacks, that we were comfortable with him. He could come to our house and he'd be right at home. :~D

Martin's wonderful contrast of Obama's empathetic approach to problem solving versus Hillary's authoritative thrust is a stroke of genius! The motiviations that create such inclinations, he also lays out rather astutely.

Beautifully executed, if I must say again, Martin! 8~)

      Louis Farrakhan endorses Obama:

CHICAGO, Feb 25, 2008 (AFP) ??? Militant US Islamic leader Louis Farrakhan has given his warm backing to Democratic White House contender Barack Obama -- but it is not an endorsement that the Illinois senator covets.

"This young man is the hope of the entire world that America will change and be made better," Farrakhan, 74, told a Nation of Islam convention here Sunday, according to extracts of his speech broadcast on local television.

"We are witnessing the phenomenal rise of a man of color in a country that has persecuted us because of our color," said the long-time leader of the African-American Muslim organization.

But Farrakhan, who has been accused of anti-Semitism and homophobia, did not formally call on Nation of Islam followers to vote for Obama.

Obama's spokesman Bill Burton said: "Senator Obama has been clear in his objections to Minister Farrakhan's past pronouncements and has not solicited the minister's support."

Obama, who is battling Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination, has had to fend off false claims perpetuated by email that he is a secret Muslim.

Obama's Kenyan father was a non-observant Muslim, but the candidate himself is a Christian. His church in Chicago -- the Trinity United Church of Christ -- describes itself as "unashamedly black and unapologetically Christian."
