Wake up America. You cannot let this happen. This country needs experienced leadership, not showmanship. Where are your heads? Don't vote Oprah. Margaret Thatcher, Benazir Bhutto.....Hillary Clinton is every bit as strong as these great leaders. And I am a man. It is the time. How long are we going to let the men screw this country up. I am ready to give Hillary a shot. Obama is not ready and will be a disaster. Please, Please, take a good long look at Hillary Clinton. She, and America, are ready.

    • Posted By: Obamavets @ 02/27/2008 12:05:40 PM

"Wake up America" seems to be a standard exclamation of the Clinton machine. Every time I see it, I automatically associate it with a Hillary supporter. In answer, what makes you think America is not awake? Also, what qualifies you to say that Obama is not ready and will be a disaster? Are you a former sitting president as well as a fortune teller?

Please refrain from insulting everyone???s intelligence by implying that we are asleep and being duped. As for giving Hillary a chance to run the nation based on her sex is simply absurd. What special quality does being a woman bring to the White House? Does that imply being female trumps being male and by extension, being a white female trumps being a black male? Please, work out your oedipal conflicts without including me.

AS AN ILLINOIS RESIDENT I AM QUALIFIED TO SAY THAT I VOTED FOR OBAMA TO BE MY U.S. SENATOR AND I AM STILL WAITING FOR HIM TO MAKE GOOD ON HIS PROMISES OF CHANGE . I AM NOT GOING TO BE FOOLED A SECOND TIME THANK YOU. HE IS NOT READY TO BE PRESIDENT AND I AM TIRED OF HIS ARROGANCE AND ATTITUDE OF ENTITLEMENT. HE LET SENATOR EMIL JONES OF ILLINOIS KNOW AS SOON AS HE WAS IN ILLINOIS SENATE THAT HE WAS RUNNING FOR US SENATE. THEN AS SOON AS HE WAS SEANTOR HE RAN FOR PRESIDENT . ILLINOIS RESIDENTS WERE LEFT WITH NO ACTION BUT WE HAD HOPE.

ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND? HAVE YOU NO SHAME? WERE YOU KICKED IN THE HEAD AT SOME POINT, AND LOST ALL PERSPECTIVE? HE IS A MAN. HE IS A MAN. HE IS A MAN. HE HAS A PENIS. I BELIEVE THAT MAKES HIM A MAN.

Reading page one is enough for me...its too sickening! My god has the media, CNN, MSNBC journalist not massaged this brainless, wonder enough? He just another G. W. Bush - a puppet! He has no experience what so ever. The good old boys like Jimmy Carter's foriegn advisor and John Kerry, and Ted Kennedy, and Chris Dobb will be running the show. Obama admitted he would need help! Those of us who do the research and read all the papers and look a both sides know that this country need Hillary. She will be ready on day one. Why do people just jump on the bandwagon are they clueless themselves? I yes! HIllary will see that Bush's mess gets cleaned up in the first year. She will see that millions of people get jobs, helath insurance and more.....She will over see what committees her cabinet is doing. She has brain and knows what to do.. The American people need to do their home work! Think about it!

Yes, Obama's female qualities are what make him attractive to me. So what? I like a man who is not afraid to show his soft, sensitive side. Maybe the alpha males have had too long a run. Maybe it's time to give a metrosexual, liberated male a shot?

    • Posted By: tiredofobama @ 02/27/2008 11:00:52 PM

      Yawn!!! Waht mindless drivel.

  • Posted By: goatherd @ 02/27/2008 10:49:34 PM

Obama is the chair of a senate subcommittee that has not met.
OBAMA NOT READY ON DAY ONE.
Since January 2007, not even a single meeting on Afghanistan?
OBAMA NOT READY ON DAY ONE.
Contrary to his speeches: OBAMA NOT READY ON DAY ONE.

  • Posted By: tiredofobama @ 02/27/2008 10:31:52 PM

This article is just more free advertising for Obama. Why does Obama always get a free pass? Why do stupid "journalists" slobber all over him? Obama is not the Messiah. Obama is the chair of a senate subcommittee that has not met. Why? Because he was too busy running for President. How can we entrust our country to someone this irresponsible? Also, if we vote for Obama based on fluff and feel good articles then it shows how stupid the Obamites really are. Obama will be another failure. Remember Jimmy Carter. Everybody wanted change then. Where did it get us? EXPERIENCE DOES MATTER!!!! DON"T VOTE FOR OBAMA!!!

I find this entire article highly offensive and downright bigoted. Thank you for proving that we still unfortunately do have a sexist and race problem in America, just when we think we have rounded the bend......Thank you for allowing my opinion..... skd500

FACTS ABOUT SENATOR OBAMA TO BUST HIS BUBBLE OF HOPE

Senator Obama has not been telling the truth to American people as shown by the following facts:

    POLICIES OF YESTERDAY:

Senator Obama runs on the ???hope and change??? message and often dismisses the ???policies of yesterday???. But there is nothing wrong with the policies that produced the budget surplus and other benefits to the middle class and the poor. It is the ???policies of yesterday??? that help to give Senator Clinton and Senator Obama the opportunity to run for the presidency today; therefore, it is wrong to dismiss all ???policies of yesterday??? indiscriminately. We need to keep the good policies and try to correct or improve the bad ones. Senator Obama does not tell the voters the truth!!! Senator Obama misleads his supporters and others!!!

    JFK and MLK:

In their young days, JFK was a war hero and MLK was a civil rights leader; whereas, Senator Obama admitted to using drugs during his young days in his book. He recently quit smoking to prepare for his run for the White House. Isn???t he calculating as a politician???

    UNIVERSAL HEALTH COVERAGE:

Senator Clinton was the one who first tackled this issue. Even though it was not successfully the first time, she has learned a lot of lessons from it. All experiences in life do come with a cost! Senator Obama also learned from Senator Clinton???s first trial on Universal Health Coverage. Senator Obama???s proposal has a mandate for parents to buy it for the children; whereas, Senator Clinton???s requires all to participate to share the costs. Senator Obama falsely accuses Senator Clinton as the only candidate who forces the people to buy health care insurance even when they cannot afford it without mentioning that both proposals offer subsidies to the poor. Senator Obama does not tell people the truth and the whole truth!

    NAFTA:

Senator Obama falsely accuses Senator Clinton about supporting this policy. The fact is Senator Clinton has opposed this policy for a long time and has proposed a timeout to review it. Even Senator Obama does not think that it is a good idea to get rid of this policy because it will cause even more job losses. Senator Obama does not always speak the truth and the whole truth!

    Change:

In a speech in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on February 16, 2008, Senator Obama said that ???change only comes from below??? and that ???change does not come from above.??? If so, what he is running for the highest office in the country for? Senator Obama is a veteran politician who tells his supporters what they want to hear: the same charge he levels at his opponents. We all know that changes have to come from both directions.

thanks Mr nyguyen for your well thought out presentation mr Johnson couldn't even reply or criticize your format.

Mr Nguyen and Miamiman are obviusly immigrants to the US who bought the American dream and fail to see the reality that this dream will turn into a nightmare if some of the midnight protagonists to do not wake up to a change. The American political dream must come alive and become reality NOW!!!

It's all debunked talking points. I don't suffer a fool.

    • Posted By: jaimehlers @ 02/26/2008 5:10:24 PM

Please. Is there some reason you think that rehashing tired old talking points is going to actually convince anyone of anything? I don't make any assumptions about Obama's meaning when he talks about "policies of yesterday"...though I seriously doubt that he's talking about indiscriminately throwing everything away, like you are implying. Good thing I know you're also not speaking for Obama.

Honestly, do you think anyone is going to care about whether Obama might have used the occasional drug when he was young? If he denied it and then was shown to have done so anyway, then yes people would care. But being candid about it is not going to hurt him. And your point on Obama quitting smoking is worthless. Do you have any idea just how difficult it is to quit smoking? It's not something you do just to be "calculating".

I'd be more likely to consider your point about the health insurance thing if Clinton weren't just as bad about dissing Obama's plan unfairly. In fact, I suspect the only thing that's true here is that neither candidate has seriously read the other's.

Regarding NAFTA, you do know who originally signed that bill into law, right? A certain gentleman named Clinton. I think it's a reasonable assumption that Senator Clinton supported it at the same time. If she's since changed her position because she believes it's bad, it's one thing, but if she's done it just because it's unpopular, that's another.

Finally, you do know that change cannot be imposed from above unless it is also supported from below, right? It's very important for people to understand that they have to support the change that Senator Obama is supporting if it's going to actually accomplish anything, so I don't see the point of trying to castigate him over this.

We may be enlightened enough to elect a man who is feminine in his approach. Maybe what the world needs now is love, sweet love. But, wait a minute, will that work against the terrorrist threat. I guess not.

YEs. Love does work aagainst threats. THE BIBLE SAYS (FOR YOU CHRISTIANS) " A SOFT WORD TURNS AWAY WRATH." But of course, real christains never bother with the parts of the Bible that purport loving your enemy, but are well schooled in the biblical accountings of jewish war history . REMEBER, AFTER THE OLD TESTAMENT CAME THE NEW TESTAMENT. AFTER THE RULE OF LAW CAME THE MERCY OF GRACE. AFTER AN EYE FOR AN EYE CAME TURN THE OTHER CHEEK. I do not know why fundamentalists just don't get rid of the New Testament, because apart from Jesus crucifixion and the Apocalypse, none of the teachings of love, acceptance and toleranceI have no relevance to the modern American ultra-conservative born-again Christian. I promise you all, one reward that won't be given on the day of judgement is a "Prize for Ignorance and Intolerance for Jesus.

KILL KILL, KILL - as long as it's in Jesus name and the state of Israel remains sovereign everything is OK
By the way, I am Christian and my grandmother is Jewish. I DO NOT PRACTICE SELF HATE BUT I ALSO DO NOT DENIGRATE THE RIGHT OF ALL TO WHAT"S THEIRS - THEIR HERITAGE, THEIR RELIGION, THEIR BELIEFS AND THEIR OPINIONS. IF YOUR INTENT IS LOVE YOU WILL PREVAIL - LIKE DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING< Jr. - THE PRACTICE OF LOVE WILL DO THAT TO YOU!!

As a person of strong conviction of patiotism, and a naturalized citizen, it is no contest in my mind. Man or Woman...we must realize the importance of this office: If America does not like being American and the freedoms that lie herein....Obama is the choice. He has clearly self-professed his anti-American leanings and drastic underlying tones of anti-American sentiment. Frank Davis is his long time mentor! Where is his patriotism to qualify him for such an office ? I fear for this country and our freedoms under his concept of patriotism - ( not to mention having a first lady whose pride in country is based solely on having her husband a potential presidential candidate). Wake up America - he's not an Oscar nominee, he's running for the most important office of the county and very arguable the most critical position in the world. DO WE REALLY WANT A PRESIDENT THAT CANNOT EVEN PUT HIS HAND OVER HIS HEART DURING OUR NATIONAL ANTHEM? Come on!

    • Posted By: Potion78 @ 02/27/2008 4:55:35 PM

Well ... I don't want a president that can't keep his hands (and other parts of his body) off of women he's not married too either ... hmmm National Anthem Crisis or A republican Bill Clinton? I take my chances with Barack! Last think I want is another impeachment trial.

You guys really kill me. Because white people do not denounce or reject their founding fathers, and they all had slaves. They were raping our women and hanging our men and lying and using the bible to do such evils to my people, and all white people have the position of privilage because of this evil treatment. So shame on the media and those who feel that he has to denounce Min. Farrakhan just because The Min. likes him.

This is absolutely stupid. And a huge insult to one of the nation's finest public servants, Sen. Hillary Clinton! SHE is more than capable and knowledgeable enough to be the first woman President. Sen. Obama recognized this himself during last night's debate. This is a clear example of the media trying to publically undermine a strong and intelligent woman and specifically Sen. Hillary Clinton!

The American people wiil not allow the media or celebrities to dictate their vote. OHIO and TEXAS certainly won't!

i understand that newsweek and other media outlets need to generate stories in a race that is just abot over in terms of the democratic nomination but i think this is an inappropriate characterization however you choose to explain it, particularly in light of some of the tactics presently in use in this campaign. if someone made a parallel observation of senator clinton, i'm sure her supporters would deluge you with complaints... just my thoughts... peace

I???m listening the Sean Hannity Show as I write this post and laughing hysterically! Want to know what it may have felt like on October 30, 1938 listening to "The War of the World" on the radio? Turn on any conservative talk radio show. Just by listening for the past 2 days I found out:

??? If you belong to a black church that wants to improve conditions in the black community where it is located (And it known that conditions are poor i.e. 70% of black families are fatherless) ??? you and your church are a racist
??? If Farrakhan compliments you on being a nice guy and if there is a possibility you met with him???you are a racist
??? If your church gave out an award regardless of what it was for to Farrakhan ??? again you and the church are a racist
??? If your wife/husband have any grieves with America at any time in their life time ??? you both are racist AND Anti-American
??? If your wife or husband writes a theses about 20yrs ago and it has any discontent with American society/ culture ??? again you both are racist and Anti - American
??? Oh, and the most important of all???If you run for President you will send America in to complete and total ??? ANARCHY!

Now, I???m going to stand outside and wait for the aliens.

If Obama were white would 80% of the black American population still be supporting him? Poor Hillary, with all her "friends" abandoning her, the latest being John Lewis, she would be better off staying close to her enemies, at least she knows where they stand and they will not turn against her. I am glad that my friends are more loyal than Hillary's

Well, Sueannjohnson79 there is only two places a woman belongs...the kitchen and the bedroom! Ok, I couldn't resist, there is nothing sexist about this article. Most people are reacting to the position their candidate is in and being overly sensitive. Everyone can atest to the fact how Hilliary presents herself as a tough womoan who is a fighter and how Barack contributes a calm, inclusive nature with a propensity to bring people together.
