A purple bracelet....Yeah. That solves all problems, all fears about death and dying, all sadness in life. Once again, Religion has come up useless in real-world applications. Where is the religion that addresses reality? That forces people to question, to take responsibility for themselves, instead of just handing them their minds wrapped in a purple bracelet...

    Ms. Miller:

It would have been nice--and professional--if you had told us what congregation he is a part of...the man is part of a New Age religion, Christian only in name. This "New Thought" movement is certainly the kind of religion that would appeal to Oprah.

Next time, please provide the whole story. Thanks!

I've got something of an answer. If his congregation didn't pay him at all... would that make a difference to your attitude toward him? If lawyers and doctors didn't get paid at all, would they be doing their work for humanity? Could psychiatrists and social workers and teachers do their work (VERY often underpaid) for the good of humanity if they're not paid? Do we ask what they are paid? Maybe we SHOULD ask what they are paid.....
