Comment: I am voting for the most electable candidate .....who is the most qualified in all areas.....passionate about helping people.......a strong leader..........can bring the democratic party together.....has experience speaking with leaders from all around the world.......as well as a great record in the Senate......and will come to work on day 1 with a real plan for our economy, the war in Iraq, health care, keeping our country safe.....and many others. I will vote for Hillary Clinton for President.
I have been doing much of my own research on all the candidates as I realize in this economy the different news Medias are hurting for dollars and right now the political ads are making up 80% of ads and income.
That means to me , that whatever keeps ratings up, is what they will keep putting on. Not a bad idea to look things up first hand. Obama has his goods points also , but I believe Hillary will win. HILLARY CLINTON FOR PRESIDENT.........SHE CARES.......GO HILLARY.......

Comment: tephraim: If you were struggling to make ends meet you would do everything in your power to fight. Hillary has made some bad decisions regarding the campaign but it still doesn't mesn she is not the most electable. She has a great platform and she is realistic to the needs of the country not just a few. She is not associated with people who want to hurt the United States or white people. She is struggling to fight for her political career. One of Obama's major influences, Deval Patrick, was more concerned about his 7 figure book deal than his states well being. Its okay because the vote for gambling was lost but just like Obama he voted present. Now that is not what we need in this country. We need action not just present.

Comment: I hear your argument, but I do not believe that ANY of the candidates have a desire to hurt our country or white people. I do not see what you see. I see a choice between a woman who has lost herself in this fight and she is willing to win at any cost and outside of the rules. She seems so desperate to me. I have always supported the Clintons, but it appears to me that they are trying to lead by force while Obama is leading by inspiring and motivating. This started out with two people, either of which would have been wonderful and has ended with Obama being above politics as usual. I may not agree with him on everything, but I appreciate the fact that he creates conversation out of chaos that challenges the citizens of this country to think and try to see where others are coming from. The fact that he is white and black causes me to believe that he does not hate either race because to do so would be to hate himself and his mother. It is my hope that Hillary maintains the dignity that she has left. As a woman, I understand our struggles, but I also understand how important appearances are. It appears that I can not trust her anymore. Maybe it will change. I hope that it does. I would love for her to give me a reason to believe in her again.

Comment: I will vote republican which I haven't done in five elections if Obama get the nomination. I don't trust his idea of hope and change especially since he can't even define what hope and change is or means. I definitely do not trust his affiliations to haters of the United States and white people either. Also with Florida and Michigan blocking his way to the White House all of this may be a moot point.

She is self destructing and whole world is watching.

Regardless of what we think or feel, this is politics. NO ONE is above playing the way everyone has been playing. The deal is who will come out on top. The sooner you realize it only takes 11 states to win the election then and only then will you understand the other 39 plus are just security and most of those states have been known to give it up to the Republicans.

Comment: I believe that the cover of your magazine was misleading and perhaps even deceitful. This cover makes it appear that Barack Obama actually changed his name, when "Barack" actually WAS his given name. It would have been easier to go through grade school and high school with the name "Barry!" It seems to me that someone wanted the public to think that Barack actually CHANGED his name!?!?! As a long-time subscriber to your magazine, I am disappointed.

Comment: Are you kidding me? 4000 of our nation's children have died in a war that was based on a lie, told by our current administration, and we still haven't capture the person responsible for the 9/11 attacks on our country. The economy is in the worst shape it has been in since WW II.

I respect McCain, but I do not want to continue the Bush legacy, which is what he promises to do.

I used to respect Mrs. Clinton, but she is beginning to scare me. She has no integrity, even the appearance of integrity has disappeared.

Mr. Obama, so far has taken on the difficult issues. He has been honest and consistent about his belief about the war, and special interests. He does not seem to be infected by Washiington and he brings the best out in people. I will take my chances with this young man who, so far, has proven to be a great leader.

Are there members of the KKK on the editorial board of Newsweek? How could they be so blind? Was it a mistake or have they fallen victim to believing what the other media tells them. Large white cover with small African American boy. It is hard not to see the message here.

Comment: Can you believe she would lie about receiving sniper fire... She is out of her mind. And she got caught. Is that integrity, in Hillaryland? And she blackmailed half those superdelegates (they are so afraid to vote the way they really want, for Obama).

Well, Obama has real world integrity, integrity people can count on.

All Clinton had to do is split the delegates. That would be fair since she did not have a real win and the states are already penalized. But Clinton stone walled the issue and said no. Clinton just does not know how to put people ahead of her own agenda. And much of her votes came from Republicans who want to manipulation the election (you can thank Republican commentators for that). Does she realize that she ultimately fools no-one.

  • Posted By: tephraim @ 03/25/2008 12:02:04 AM

Comment: Let's talk about integrity. Last Monday, Mrs. Clinton told an audience that as first lady, she faced sniper fire as she was getting off the plane. She said that it was such a dangerous situation that the welcoming ceremony was canceled,

Well, video of that trip surfaced. There was no sniper fire. There was a welcoming ceremony with an eight year old girl reading her poetry.........and you talk about integrity.

I am a true Democrat who will vote for our nominee, no matter who it is.........its looking like it will be Obama.

  • Posted By: tephraim @ 03/24/2008 11:48:54 PM

Comment: OBAMA has nothing to with a re-vote, nor does Mrs. Clinton. That is a state legislative issue. Mr. Obama has done everything by the rules. Now the losing party, Mrs. Clinton, wants to change the rules because she has no way of winning with the rules that have been out in place.........and you say Obama has no integrity. Are you serious?

Where else can you change the rules as you go?

If you do not like Mr. Obama because of this, you never liked him.

  • Posted By: ann typical white woman?? @ 03/24/2008 12:55:23 PM

Comment: Obama has no integrity. He agrees with whomever can garner him more votes and delegates.
Accepting Richardson's endorsement (added TEDDIE and KERRY to that too) are against
what he told Americans was not right, that is to have the super delegates GO AGAINST their state voters. Guess this means what we are slowing finding out it true--HE's a BIG LIAR and can't be trusted. NAFTA, Rev. Wright, Farrakhan, Rezko, ELI JONES, and a trail of other associates will continue to shed the light of truth about Obama. I believe he is a racist like his close associates and that he probably is a still a Muslim, too.

Comment: FL had a Republican Governor who wanted to see that Democratic voters are disenfranchised, so that they will not vote in the general election. FL knew the rules.

    • Posted By: Jrmapu @ 03/23/2008 09:13:53

Comment: It certainly seems it worked. Because now the road to the White House will have to go through Florida and Michigan. Obama's non-support of the re-vote will come back to haunt him should he get the nomination. Oh well you play with fire you are bound to get burned. This isn't the first time he's done that. He did that with NAFTA and the Teamsters, Rezko, his church's affiliations with the likes of Farrakhan. So all his shenanigans will come back to haunt him. His credibility is NIL.

It seems so basic. They knowingly disenfranchised an Entire State by doing so. And now Florida 's Republican Governor the same Charlie Crist is saying he thinks it's outragous for Florida votes not to be counted. They are also mentioning his name on the news a s a possible choice for Vice Presidentioal running mate on the Republican ticket..
Who owns who ......Who is running our country? I guess I won't have a voice or a vote that will count. Good luck to the rest of the country. You all may be next..to lose your vote. Totally unacceptable.

Comment: How about this idea, why don't the delegates be awarded straight up for each state won? Guess who wins? HILLARY. My problem is I don't understand how someone can win less states and still would come out the winner. What stinks is the process of how delegates are bought. With super delegates not far behind. So maybe all you so called democrats need to recalculate the actual totals. When she says she is electable that is not a fairy tale. She won the states with the most delegates to be awarded. Obama has been buying votes. And don't say you don't think so. He outspent her in campaign funds for the elections and the delgates/superdelegate support.

Comment: Professional politians operate under the assumption that rules don't apply to them, so thy do as they please and are unwilling to accept the consequences Senator Clinton knew when she ran in Michigan and Florida that those delegates would not count, but hoping to do an end-run around the rule of DNC she chose to run anyway. She has done a gross disservice to the voters of both states.
    It's time for some accountability.

  • Posted By: tallgal60 @ 03/19/2008 3:57:55 PM

Hillary knew when she ran in Michigan and Florida that those deligates would not count., but she chose to push the envelope anyway. Now she wants those deligates. It's time to hold her accountable for a decision that was unfair to voters, just because she wants to win at any price.. LD

Comment: Former First Lady's paper to go public. GOOD FOR YOU HILLARY!!! We need to be seen as the "PARTY OF INTEGRITY"!

I realize that this is a little off subject, BUT IT'S STILL A VERY HOT TOPIC!

Attention Hillary and Obama's camp: We need to put a STOP to all this revote or do-over nonsense (Florida/Michigan) that the media is playing up. Important side note to all you Floridians!

    Re: Florida Revote

KUDOS TO ALL FLORIDIANS! The power of the "PEOPLE" and a handful of honest Democratic politicians prevailed! Thank you for NOT succumbing to the intense pressure of the "Washington Insider Club" (Establishment). After what happen in 2000, God forbid we have another Florida voting scandal ... only this time by means of "DO-OVER" mail-in fraud.
Good for you Floridians! Shame on you Michigan Power Players!!

I know that it's NOT the average Floridians fault---nor the average folk from Michigan---I blame the powers that be in both those states for not taking care of business with the DNC when they should have. They should have worked out their differences with the DNC BEFORE their respective primary's.

THEY CAN'T CHANGE THE RULES NOW!!!

I don't care how close the race is right now. Somehow ... someway a winner will be declared without DO-OVER's in Florida and Michigan. With all the DO-OVER talk and Super Delegate controversy, our primaries are starting look like a three-rink circus. C'mon my fellow Dems!

All you folks in Michigan speak up! Refuse to take part in these bogus DO-OVER'S, it's causing embarrassment to our party. Again, I know it's not your fault, but do the right thing like Florida. Just sit it out until the General Election. Then come back STRONG! RECORD NUMBER TURNOUT!!!

As a party, we need to "UNITE" and be seen on the World Stage as the party of INTEGRITY! We need to rise above ANY and ALL suspicions of voter fraud and/or manipulation.

Without that! I really don't see us beating the Republicans come November.

    Hillary/Obama 2008! OR Obama/Hillary 2008

I don't care which name comes first! LET'S UNITE NOW, BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!

Florida and Michigan SHOULD just split the pledged delegates 50-50. PERIOD!

    Comment: Amb. Elizabeth Bagley

???As former US Amb. & Irish citizen, I support Sen. Clinton for Pres., she has strength & experience to assume Presidency, she has proven track record of promoting peace in N. Ireland for a decade, through her advocacy on behalf of children damaged by conflict & her encouragement & promotion of women in political process.

Hillary visited N. Ireland 7 times from 1995 & 2004, she brought together women from communities, Catholic & Protestant, to meet & work together toward a common goal of peace in N. Ireland.

In Sept., 1998, she spoke at first Vital Voices Conference on Women in Democracy in Belfast, brought 400 women to promote their leadership in peace process. Hillary announced $2 M in public/ private partnerships to support community, expand child care services, assist women in business & strengthen advocacy skills. She pledged she & Pres. would stand with them as they took risks for peace & urged them to transform their ideas into actions, & their dreams of a peaceful Ireland into reality.

I serve on board of Vital Voices Int., founded by First Lady Hillary to promote political & economic empowerment for women, co-sponsored 1998 conference with First Minister David Trimble & Deputy First Minister Seamus Mallon, who praised work of conference. It is, puzzling Lord David Trimble referred to Hillary???s involvement in N. Ireland Peace Process as ???a wee bit silly???, when his wife, Daphne, attended all training sessions sponsored by Vital Voices & actively involved in its reconciliation & development work.

Hillary???s passion & commitment to N. Ireland contributed to peace process & to Good Friday Agreement of 1998, but it continues to this day. As Senator, she has visited Rep. of Ireland & N. Ireland, where she met all political leaders, including the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, whom she also meets every year during his St. Patrick???s Day visits to Washington. When Martin McGuiness & Ian Paisley visited Washington as First & Deputy Ministers of new N. Ireland Assembly, they met Pres. Bush & then Sen. Clinton, to thank her for her contributions to the peace process. Nobel Peace Prize winner John Hume stated, ???Anyone criticizing her foreign policy involvement should look at her very active & positive approach to N. Ireland & speak with people of N. Ireland who have highest regard for her & are very grateful for her very active support for our peace process.???

Comment: I really appreciate Newsweek's work in putting a wide range of angles on Clinton. One thing I am getting tired of in general, and it was touched on in several stories, is the tendency to lump all boomer women together in support of Clinton. A generalization like that ignores one of the fundamental symptoms of Boomeritis -- a profound sense of individuality and doin' our own groovy thing.
As a woman, a Boomer, and a New York State resident, I don't believe I have any particular responsibility to vote for a woman because she is a woman. I look at a candidate's record and history.
Is Obama light on details? Maybe. But I'm not convinced Clinton's proposals have any weight behind them, either: The next time Clinton speaks on the economy, ask her where the 200,000 jobs are she promised upstate New York. Since she took office, we've not only NOT gained those jobs, we've lost 25,000.

    • Posted By: Illinois Voter @ 03/18/2008 00:07:34

Comment: Next time Obama speaks ask him why he let his friend Lester Crown sell Maytag to Whirlpool, resulting in 1,600 Illinois jobs getting moved to Mexico. And then ask why OB took over $150,000 for his campaign from Lester Crown, & why OB gave Crown's son, James Crown, a job on his Campaign Finance Committee. Ask OB why he let Exelon Nuclear Plant leak waste in IL groundwater & took $85,000 Exelon donations.

I will be curious to find out who contributed to the Clinton library and their IRS returns.

I'm not sure how I touched off such an angry and bitter reaction, but yes I do have a job, one I like a lot. Too good? Where does that come from? Like most Americans I will work -- and have worked -- minimum wage jobs if that's what it takes. But I'm fortunate enough to earn more than that, now. Are minimum wage jobs the answer? I doubt it. I know people that are working two and three minumum wage jobs and can still barely pay the bills.

Using the logic that "jobs are out there," Hillary promised 200,000 MORE jobs by counting the minimum wage jobs that were already there, that apparently no one knows how to find, so she can say she brought them to upstate NY. I see.

Comment: Thank-you for the nice comment about my daughter.
Hillary' and her co-workers, lets call them that, all contribute to the livelihood of the nation to create jobs and they may not be glamorous but they are out there. Its not just Hillary its her and the other senators responsibilities to make sure they receive funding from the federal government to allow them the opportunities to create the jobs.
Some people work at the lowest jobs because no one wants them and seem to be proud to contribute to America. These are foreigners. We as Americans take that for granted. No one can deny that. Some people want to start at the top instead of working their way up.
I may not be explaining this correctly but bottomline everyone is responsible for getting their own jobs. They are out there. Some are underqualified and some over.

Comment: Hillary Clinton IS America's best hope for change. If America is going to survive and revive, we need to start paying attention to "the economy. stupid". Hillary has identitfied the country's biggest economic challenge- healthcare. The healthcare crisis has closed several hospitals in New Jersey and is about to close one of the largest comprehensive Medical Centers in my community. The state is near bankruptcy with Gov. Corzine's state budget eliminating 5,000 jobs and cutting money for funding charity care to many urban hospitals. Charity care is defined as providing medical care to the uninsured. The first solution to any problem is to admit you have one. Last week, during one of his state of the nation speeches, I heard President Bush say there was no healthcare crisis. He suggested that any one with a health issue wnd no insurance just need to present themselves to any American hospital to receive the best medical care in the world. If our hopsitals can no longer afford to supply this type of care and ore forced to close, where will those without insurance go to get that care? Why isn't The White House bailing out these faltering institutions, if they are driving more people to them? This is the number one economic issue in this country today. With its far-reaching economic implications in the community, We MUST acknowledge the problem of the uninsured, immigration and the economy before we can move this country forward. Hillary will be the one to acknowledge this country's failing economy and healthcare crisis. If Bear, Sterns is collapsing. perhaps what we need in this country today, is a female FDR offering new jobs, healthcare for all and a political climate that redirects our financial resources back to our shores and investing in our businesses and people. Hillary will also resort to diplomacy and end the tragic war in Iraq. It can't be good to have alienated our foreign allies, while embracing the aggressive pre-emptive strike mentality of the Bushes and spending 3 Trillion dollars, money better directed to solve our own economic issues and protect us from our enemies. We need help. We need change. We need a woman's perspective and voice, a good listener. Hillary is my choice for change.

    • Posted By: jannie will @ 03/17/2008 12:10:47

Comment: "We need a woman's perspective:" Maybe so, but not a woman who is where she is because of who she married. She has no experience successfully running anything on her own. We need a woman who is independent and yet can work with others. We need a uniter, and I have nerver heard, even her most ardent supporter, claim that Hilary can unite squat.

  • Posted By: Jrmapu @ 03/17/2008 12:45:46 AM

Comment: Many of you say you want a female president yet you continuously demean Hillary. Sorry , but the lady (yes, lady) has always carried herself as a crusader even before she married Bill. This is why Laura Bush will not run for President.
Hillary was always destined to fight for rights of people. I don't believe one word that comes out of Obama's mouth. He's saying all the right things. The difference is he is sticking his foot in his own mouth. NAFTA, Teamsters, his xerox speeches, riding on the coattails of Hillary's ideas. He cannot think for himself. He stumbles when challenged.
Hillary may not get the delegate count but she damn well got the states that elect presidents spending less money. The DNC is in major trouble, they know this and they know their strongest candidate is Hillary. She can go head up with McCain on any issue. Obama will crash and burn because the only thing he can preach is hope and change. The problem is this hope and change involves shady characters whom will be looking for the promises that were made to them to get him the nomination and the presidency. That is why I will vote McCain for president if Obama gets the nomination. Voting for Nader won't do a thing. I will stomp for McCain the same as I am for Hillary. Many others not far behind.

Comment: Before turning on the computer today I wondered if I could find any paragraphs written by Hilary supporters that would not include the word 'hate' in some form. So the first 2 I come across have it in their comments. Do you Hilary supporters not have a vocabulary, are you not educated.? I read that Hilary did best in Texas amoung the lower educated class, I am believing it. During her 8 years in the White House Hilary ripped more individuals and groups than any other first lady in my lifetime, going on 8 decades. The thing that turned me off was her blaming the female victims, instead of her wandering mate. I thought women were to be treated with equality, not as things to be used. Maybe these writers are from her staff carrying out their assigned duty. No, I am not an Obama supporter, but I feel he is the least tainted, and he has more legislative experience than Hilary, accomplished in a smaller time frame.

    • Posted By: Illinois Voter @ 03/16/2008 19:21:04

Comment: Hillary is spelled with two l's. I cannot speak for all Hillary supporters as to their 'hate' speech. I do not use 'hate' to get my message across. I already voted for OB as my senator, & I regret that vote for many documented reasons regarding his failure to his constiuents. His legislative experience is dismal, if you base your support on his you are mislead by lists on internet that are bills he signed, not passed. HC bills are more due to passing as laws. I am an educator with a degree by th way.

Comment: I love this article and it is way overdue. I sensed this silent wave of support for HIllary weeks before the Ohio and Texas primaries. I tired to imagine what other women must be thinking and feeling about HIllary and I saw myself. I am a life-time conservative voter. I"ve always voted GOP though I have moderate views that gets me frustrated at times with my party. In any case, I am not a solid HIllary supporter. I must say that what got me to get up and began listening to HIllary and get to know her was the awsome gender bias I saw from the media. When the bias got so out of hand, I just couldn't sit still any longer. I got up, I listened, I learned and I began to compare and contrast. The homework took awhile because i truely did not want to vote democrate...however, it is now undenialbe. HIllary is the best candidate for the position and I believe this country is actually lucky to have her as a candidate. The idea that a candidate is taking the reality approach with talk of experience, solutions, specifics, accontability is refreshing. She is doesn't come across as someone who is dancing and singing for my vote.....she's simply just talking....talking in a very simple and regular way....just like what we all do. She has been little energy into her image in this election....even though the media have constantly said how hated she is and how the public do not trust her. She lets those things stay where they are and just continue to get up, go out there and talk....talk in a very simple and regular way...just like what we all do.

He is the cult follower of that black separatist racist pastor. This is no longer funny. He just yesterday, this transparent candidate that has integrity admitted he lied again about REZKO. He received Wake up. This isnt about Hillary no matter how crass you want to be. $250K not $100K. Read the anit-white America sentiment. This man is a fraud. Just please educate yourself. Obama is not a patriot. He is a puppet of a deranged racist and a man of god who called this country: The US of KKK A. God damn America. And make graphically disturbing comments about the former President and First Lady. Please educate yourself. Obama is a racist. Period. Look for yourself. He knew about all those comments and never spoke out our distanced himself from them. Look and see who is making race an issue. While the Republicans steal votes the Democrats make it impossible for the grass roots American electoral process to function.

Both Political parties in Congress have failed to serve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. This is why we have an illegal international invasion of Iraq with the US military in support of an incredible Iraqi Parliament.

The Presidential debate issue for the removal of this entire Executive Branch before November 2008 is on the table contrary to what the American media report. Corporate criminals disguised as US Congressional representatives are usurping the American form of representative government while the US military is OUT OF THE COUNTRY! Bring home the US military and turn them toward Washington D.C.

Comment: I am astonished and saddened that so many women place a higher priority on electing a woman than on the tremendously important issues of the Iraq War and the resulting economic crisis our nation is in. Years back I admired Clinton and contributed to her first Senate campaign, but when I learned that she had voted for the war without having read the intelligence report (National Intelligence Estimate) even though she was on the Senate Intelligence Committee, I could no longer support her. To vote on such a huge question -- sending our troops to war -- without doing her homework is an appalling error. Add to that her refusal to release her tax records from 2000 to the present, and her secrecy about her activities as First Lady, makes it impossible for me, a 70-something white woman to vote for her.

And yet what did you focus on throughout the article? Her appearance. What does this say? Why not devote those precious words to something real. How often do we hear about Obama's ankles and apparel and hair? Why does it always have to be mentioned? What are you reinforcing to we invisible women?

And for their sake alone, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton should not give up the fight.

Comment: The essays on Hillary Clinton accomplished their goal of being provocative. I had started to worry that my support for Hillary was somewhat complacent and based on nostalgia for the Clinton years after nearly 8 years of Bush or some innate loyalty to the feminist movement. The essays helped clarify my thoughts and realize that I was supporting Hillary for all the right reasons.

The 3am phone call ad can be used as a good example - when the next crisis phone call is put through to the oval office or presidential bedroom, it could be a call about the next terrorist attack or natural disaster. The person who should answer that call needs to be smart, informed and caring. Both Obama and Clinton are undeniably smart, but Hillary has proven time and again that she is informed down to the last detail and pervasive throughout the essays was evidence of her caring nature.
To flip the issue to a personal level think about who you would call in the middle of the night when crisis strikes. I suspect most Americans would answer "Mom". This country could use a little TLC.

Again, she has no experience, she has never been in charge of anything, a city, county, state, business , non-profit, you name it. Yes she is tenacious, big deal, so is Bush. When did you first hear about 'the politics of personal destruction,'? When the Clintons were in the White House maybe? She is not building a coalition, she is fracturing the advantage the Democrats had going into the primaries. This will repeat 2004 because McCain will be the only one who hasn't been criticized or gone negative. When Hillary started this campaign, she had the highest percentage of negatives. Instead of dealing with it, she went after her opponents with rumour and inuendo.

Comment: It is very distressing to me, a 70-something feminist since Friedan's book first came out, that women feel compelled to support Clinton. They are in denial. This woman, who supposedly is known for doing her homework, failed to read the National Intelligence Estimate before voting to authorize war in Iraq. How dare she approve of sending our troops into battle and our country into economic chaos without being informed. And she was on the Senate Intelligence Committee! Furthermore, she still refuses to release her tax records from 2000 to the present, refuses to release her records as First Lady nor to explain how she happened to have $5 million available to loan her campaign.

I used to support her and contributed to her first Senate campaign but I am disgusted by the way she has so poorly managed her campaign and by how destructive her tactics are. I have voted Democratic since 1960 but I am fed up with the Clintons.

And I am embarrassed that so many women are blindly supporting her, apparently because she is a woman.

Comment: I'm glad to see that the younger generation of Sarah Kliff (author of "Sorry, Hillary, But Girls Already Rule" in this issue) have been brought up to be confident and capable, resulting in higher GPAs and more advanced degrees acquired by women than men. But this piece of good news becomes particularly disheartening when it's juxtaposed with the fact that, once entering the job world, women consistently earn less than men that occupy the same type of positions. Even when you put salary aside, how does one explain the drastic shift of women being the majority in grad school but the minority in tenure track faculty positions? No, girls do not rule, not yet.
Having said that, however, I do not see the symbolic event of electing a female president as meaningful in any practical sense. It will not guarantee, foster, or quicken any change in women's status in the world, which will always require generations of moderate changes in the minds of both women and men. Presidential election is about selecting the person that's best for the job. A vote based on gender or race exemplifies the exact bias that got women and racial minorities into the state we are still fighting to get out of.

Comment: trudykuo- WHO IN THE WORLD ARE YOU KIDDING? ONLY YOURSELF. IF HILLARY CLINTON GETS THE PRESIDENTIAL NOD, THERE WILL BE GREAT CHANGES FOR WOMEN IN THE WORK WORLD AND OTHER AREAS AS WELL. HAVE YOU READ THE BLOG? WHY DO YOU THINK THERE IS SUCH VENOMOUS SPEECH DIRECTED AT HILLARY CLINTON? THEY HAVE USED EVERY EXCUSE FOR THEIR MEANNESS BUT THE WAY THEY THEY HAVE TALKED ABOUT HER HAS NOT BEEN USED ON ANY MALE CANDIDATE IN HISTORY. THE NETWORKS AND MAGS ARE TALKING ABOUT RACIAL SLURS RIGHT NOW BUT I CAN TELL YOU THAT I HAVE READ THE "B" WORD USED ABOUT HILLARY CLINTON NUMEROUS TIMES IN BLOG AND NO ONE DOES ANYTHING ABOUT THAT OR EVEN TALKS ABOUT IT. BECAUSE SHE IS A WOMAN AND THAT IS OK LANGUAGE FOR WOMEN? NO, THERE IS GENDER BIAS AND IT IS RAMPANT, IT JUST DOESN'T GET THE PRESS.

Comment: I empathize with your outrage. But not everyone is willing to make a decision like this based on emotional reactions to events. If you think I was trying to support any candidate, then either I did not write clearly enough or your emotions were biasing your interpretation of other people's thoughts.

Comment: Note: Obama was the only one who ran a political ad in Florida. Then he made up an excuse for it. Hillary Clinton won Florida but we shouldn't allow those voters to count. He took the edge and when the game wasn't called as his, well, forget that state. The fact that he was the only one to actually campaign there should have legitimized a revote.

Comment: Florida and Michigan voters voted with no expectation of their votes counting. The situation stands as all knew that it would - the votes would not count. Hillary seems to want to play the game by changing the rules at will. We already have a President who does that.
