    Comment: Mr. Alter,

The media's clarion call that it's done with a statistical dead heat between the three prospective contenders for the White House, seems too early to toss FL and MI voters out to sea. CA, FL, MI, PA, OH, MA, NY are a must........and, although I LIKE Obama, he hasn't won the most critical blue states...That's one robust reason to continue this democratic process.

Despite MILLIONS of supporters, Hillary Rodham Clinton has been vehemently vilified because it remains socially acceptable to be sexist. Corporate men dominate the airwaves; these men have held the keys to success, and invariably, they oversee most election coverage (Philadelphia Inquirer).

"Media news people, frequently operating with complete integrity and goodwill, are able to [CONVINCE} themselves that they choose and interpret the news "objectively" and on the basis of professional news values....[Not in this scenario, however.] Voter attention is focused on style and personality ("Yes We Can") --anything but the issues that are of primary concern to the concentrated private power centers that largely finance campaigns and run the government" (Noam Chomsky, Massachusetts Institute of Technology).

Women in the media, too, have been lulled into tolerating it because it is difficult to stand up to SEXISM at the risk of losing their paychecks. It's blatant that women in the media see the disparate treatment of HRC, but have convinced the masses that this pugilist is a pariah.

Without an NIE report read, Senator Obama touts his sound decision-making (as a State Senator) for opposing the War in Iraq. With hindsight, unbeknownst to him, there were no weapons of mass destruction. His argument that he made the right choice is a fallacy: he didn't make any such decision as a U.S. Senator with the emotions of September 11th still riding high and our response to maintain strong national security. Albeit, none of these assertions are earth-moving or original arguments; what is important here is to remind voters that he does not command a bastion of foreign policy knowledge nor does his redundant, "I voted against the war" a viable argument to support his candidacy.

Unfortunately, those who purport that the frontrunner will unite people have already demonstrated that the frontrunner will unite NO one except perhaps the myopic misanthropists, who, most likely, come January 2009, will be in a seething cauldron of woeful, broken promises teeming with scintillating rhetoric.

Comment: Tired and Old wrote, "BILL CLINTON IS IN AUSTRIA TODAY LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME. MUST HAVE A SOUND PROOF BASEMENT, KEYLESS LOCK, FIVE AND ONE HALF FOOT CEILING AND LEG IRONS BOLTED TO FLOOR. CALL CHELSEA AND WARN HER ! NOW ! REALLY !"

    TiredandOld,

Denigrating that young woman's egregious suffering (in Austria) to amuse yourself is the nadir of your existence. Your poorly composed vituperative and calumny towards Chelsea Clinton shows a sad and rageful man with no semblance of etiquette or humanity. Seriously, you need to focus on properly expressing anger and to refrain from filthy humor that hurts people.

Posted By: Alvy: "First you write you don't like people that sling. Then you sling. Your wordiness is as idiotic as your fanaticism po. Don't just blow people down, criticizing people blowing people down. Big words don't make it nice. Don't pretend."

    Alvy,

Chivalry is not slinging. Of all the bloggers in Newsweek, in the parlance of our times, you "sling" as if your life depended on it.

Comment: I voted for Barack Obama because I feel that there is "an urgency of now", and I want to believe that there is more to life than just ???getting by???. Life is precious; we do not need to send any more of our people off to fight senseless ???no win??? wars. There is a stark warning left by John F. Kennedy, who said, ???Mankind must put an end to war or war will put an end to mankind???. We can't change the past, and should not forget it, but let's look toward the future. Don't you think it's about time we had a say in what goes on in White House? Go for it. For those you who are cynical, try listening to the words that ???we??? are hearing, and feel the concern, the love of country, and the passion for change that Barack Obama is offering us. He is asking us to feel ???hope??? instead of ???hopeless???. I'm just not ready to give up yet. BTW: I'm white, if that matters, (it shouldn't) female, if that matters, (it shouldn't) and I'm seventy-one. (That only matters to me, as time flies now.) I???m just not ready to sit back in my rocking chair and wait for the end. I want to banish my anxiety about the covert behavior of our government. Too many secrets and claims of immunity in the search for truth, it???s a parody of justice. I want to CHANGE the way our government operates, I want to be part of that approval group that votes ???no??? on bridges to nowhere. We have work to do, to CHANGE this country into a government by the people. I want transparency (that???s a CHANGE) in government, and spending where it is most needed, not directed by powerful lobbyist pressure. Yes, it will take determination, there is much work to accomplish, but, yes, we can CHANGE this country into a government by the people. There it is again, that word has gotten so popular, ???CHANGE???.
OK. Yes We Can I want to view the ceremony next January of the inauguration of our next President of the United States, Barack Obama. Yes We Can

Comment: It's women 40 and over, not just 50 and over. You people started out saying it was just women 60 and over, now it's 50, try one more decade and you'll get a lot closer. And actually even in the 30 something women Hillary is more popular than Obama, especially for those over 35. We 40 something women are of Obama's age group and he doesn't "wow" us. Not with his constant barrage of sexist comments about Hillary that the media at best ignores, and often adds too. As well both Obama, his campaigns and the media's sexist comments about the women who are backing Hillary. They have called us stupid- emphasizing lower academic education levels- "just high school" etc... Well as someone with a BA in English who works a 30K union job, some of the most moronic people I know have Doctorates, while some of the wisest people I know didn't even get a chance to finish high school. Some of the dumbest people out there are millionaires, while some of the brighest make 15K a year. Those poor and working class folks that back Hillary, back her because they know her history and voting record on social issues, and those far outshine Obama's. The people who back Obama just talk about how great his speeches are and how charismatic he is. The people who back Hillary do because they know her history and voting record.

Comment: Comment : I wonder what would happen to the women's vote if John McCain selects Condy Rice or Colin Powell as his VP running mate. Both should be near the top of his list, and he should make his choice known ASAP. This would certainly change the inane rhetoric between Hillary and Obama, neither of whom have credentials or experience as leaders.

Comment: Colin Powell has said on talk show that he does not support McCain's war policy., He's hinted that he might support Obama.

Comment: The United States Congress and Senate are traitor to the Constitution of the United States.

Bipartisan Senate and Congressional allegiance to obstruction of justice in the Executive Branch has destabilized society from New Orleans to Iraq and back again.

While the US military is an occupying force in the Middle East, in support of an incredible Iraqi parliament, the current presidential candidates are not addressing the issues facing the American electorate challenge and mandate of 2006 to deescalate US military presence in Iraq. George W. Bush and his entire Cabinet of Advisors are wanted for treason.

Your offices have been petitioned time and again to respond correctly to the abuse of power in the Executive Branch.

Your offices are part and parcel to treason and insurrection waged against the American electorate. Failed US Foreign Policy is the result of illegal international aggression as disguised by this Bush Administration. The failure to serve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States is all too apparent in the United States Senate and Congress.

Comment: I am an African American female under the age of 50 and I vote Hillary all the way. I've said it before and I'll say it again, many people seem to forget the Clinton years. Admist all the nonsensical scandals, we had years of relative peace, strong economy, low unemployment, and a balanced budget. In comparison to these last eight years of GWB, the Clinton's did a great job. And they did do a great job, regardless to what was said about them. We had good eight years, and if we could have we would have voted Clinton in for another 4-8 years. Hillary generally has nothing to prove about her experience, we, who lived through those years saw her and Bill as a team. She traveled, met with world leaders, and they may not have made all of her influence or input public, she was not a "sit down and just look pretty" First Lady. Obama must prove that he is able to lead and carry this country. And so far all I can hear from him is getting tougher on attacking Senator Clinton. Listen, we don't care about her tax returns, what are you going to do definitively to fix this economy, the war, our standing around the world, and healthcare. What? Stop trying to nail her on stupid stuff, talk about the issues. I've heard her talk about the issues, but all I hear from you is a bunch of nothingness. I am not clear on Obama's plans, and we have no time to wait for change. We need definitve answers and solutions, and I have not heard any of that. So it's not just white, women over 50 who are voting for Senator Clinton. It's people with common sense and who are grounded. Who understand that we need someone who is tough and solid, who has possible solutions, who is informed and informs us. Down to earth and straight to the point, that's Hillary Clinton, and I support her wholeheartedly.

Comment: What is all this feminist orgy going on in Newsweek? Obama could never had such a lopsided coverage in favour of him even after 11 consecutive wins, but Hillary does, even with one not-exactly-landslide win in predominantly white, old, blue-color State and barely holding onto a popular vote win (and possibly losing out on a delegate count) in what was once her firewall State. It looks like all the old, white female writers in the Newsweek came out from hiding from the long and disappointing February and chanting feminists roar. February must have felt like forever for these ladies who were frustrated by black men utterly clobbering old white woman in Presidential nomination race (it didn't help that there was an additional day in the month). Gee, in old days, white women in the South could accuse innocent black men who they don't like of rape and have their white brothers beat them up. That was only 40 years ago. What a difference time makes, now all they could do was their feminist heroin and her campaign fumbling. ( I wonder how many of those very old white women who innocently say "I want to see a woman President in my lifetime", actually are guilty of accusation of false rape against black men in the 50's and 60's.)

Why is this feminist media orgy, and no party for Obama? Let's see how many African-Americans are in Newsweek, as writers, staffers, etc. I don't see many (in fact none of the opinion writers are black). Now let's see how many women are there? Many. I don't know how many more junior writers and staffers are women, but I suspect a lot of them. Those old white women in the Newsweek, just like in Ohio or Texas or almost all the States who had primaries and caucuses, are just expressing their preferences. As old feminist guards, they practice what they preach. They are writers and staffers in the Newsweek, one of the preeminent weekly magazines, and it is read by millions of people, Their articles and coverage have influence on what people talk and how people think. They use there position to advance their agenda. If their heroin sister finally got a moment to shine a little, blow it out of proportion. If it is for a good cause, such old and tired media principle as a balanced and objective reporting could wait a while. Plus, March is a women's month, so what's wrong with it? Plus, this is not the first time Newsweek's women hijacked entire issue. It's funny how Hillary whine about media bias, when in most of the media, Newsweek and others, you will see so many old white women type, well-educated, pant-suit wearing, shoulder-pat feminists.

Comment: And what does Hillary Clinton have to offier the voters? A claim to experienced based on what exactly? Her staunchest supporter, Madeline Albright, the one who could have given us insight into what Hillary did during the Clinton administration doesn't and cites Hillary's work on the Senate Armed Services committee as her experience in national security and foreign policy. A promise to provide healthcare and jobs? She promised healthcare in '92 but refused to work with others. She chose instead to strong arm her position through Congress. It failed, miserably. She promised jobs to the citizens of New York during the 2000 campaign but failed to deliver then blamed her failure on a change in administration. Can she keep a promise in general? She demanded transparency during her Senate campaign but won't release her tax returns for this campaign until April 15th. She promised not to campaign in Michigan and Florida but kept her name on the ballot there and now wants its delegates seated. Didn't vote in either state because you thought it wouldn't count? Who cares, Hillary's got a win and can't disenfranchise HER supporters.

Comment: Obama has everything to offer.. Paul Seymour (more like Paul Say-Less) you have nothing to say. You're lipsyncing to cliche objections to a Fine, inspiring statesman's advance. But save your bad breath cos Obama can't be stopped.. watch!!

Comment: Since this is the ONLY thing the guy has to offer:
    Okay. Let's be clear.
Obama was "against the war" (2002)
"Not sure how he would have voted" -NYT (2004)
"Not much difference between myself and Bush (2005)
Voting for ALL appropriations for the war (2006)
    "Always against the war" (2008)
    That's not called judgement.
It's called WAFFLING (I think "Lying" works here, too).

Obama says he won't accept money from special interests--but he accepts money from "bundlers"(including 250K from a venture capital firm) took $200K from the nuclear industry & all the union money he can get his hands on.

He touts his eloquent speeches--borrowed from others (Deval Patrick, June Jordan, Jesse Jackson, John Edwards) without credit.

He says he's a unifier that can heal "racial divisions"--but he belongs to a radical Black Power church_http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZXeNk7H3u4 _http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8YmQUqj15g&NR=1 and His church recently awarded LOUIS FARRAKHAN a lifetime achievement award.

Obama also quoted Malcolm X (???There will be bamboozling??? speech-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuB_W8o_UsU. Remember Malcolm X? He wrote that nice, race unifying speech: "The Ballot Box or the Bullet"_--again without attribution.

Then of course there is the whole OBAMA/legislative EXPERIENCE angle. After all, he voted present, how many times? 20? 30? 40? Oh, my gosh--I FORGOT! ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY TIMES!!.
And, of course, how many times he did what? PUSH THE WRONG BUTTON? 7 times. I mean, that's a little EMBARRASSING, wouldn't you say? (it's a pretty big button, after all).

In the Senate, he has PASSED TWO BILLS: to promote democracy in Africa and to name a post office. He has only been present 20% of the name. What usually happens if someone doesn't show up for work and does NOTHING when they're there?
    A PROMOTION? LOL
THIS GUY HAS NOTHING TO OFFER

Comment: The writer says she guesses that it took the voters of Ohio and Texas to remind us all that not everyone can afford therapy? That the women in those states are too busy caring for kids and bringing home the bacon to worry about the cut of Hillary's pants suits? I wonder what she thinks the women in South Carolina and Iowa were saying? Oh, I forgot...those states don't count. Nevertheless, perhaps those women are struggling, too, and have come up with a different answer as to who would be the best candidate. Or perhaps what we have here is an extremely stupid premise on which to base an article.

Yet, she and her supporters are the most vociferous complainants. It is a shame to be bombarded with these baseless articles.
