So You Think You Can Dance: A Presidency
It's not easy being a lame duck with low approval ratings. You've got to go the extra mile just to get attention. President Bush has found a new way, and the good news is, it's working. The bad news? It's working.
Feb. 21, 2008: Liberia. Just a few weeks ago, during his tour of Africa, Bush very nearly got jiggy with it. An inescapably white performance, and yet charming in its arrhythmic way.
April 24, 2007: The White House. This time, during Malaria Day festivities, he got a little too hot, throwing his arms up in the air like he just didn't care. He later commandeered a guest performer's drum.
March 5, 2008: The White House. An ambivalent, unfocused, time-killing performance as he awaited John McCain's arrival for a celebratory grip-and-grin. You're the president. Don't you have stuff to do?
