Obama has said very little about what he would do as President. He seems to thrive on the appearance of being Black, although he is of mixed parentage. This seems to me to be a very bad way of electing a President to help us undo the insanity of the past two administrations.

A democracy is ruled by the majority, much like Greece or Rome, the majority can destroy itself. A republic is ruled by laws, and a republic can be a monarchy or a dictatorship. We have a combination because the majority elect those who make the laws.

very well reasoned comment. ironic is it not that we have yet, as a nation, resolved the states rights v. fed powers fight. the players have changed teams. yet the fight continues. but the continuing disconnect between the people and their reps is troubling. government seems by turn either to small or to big to respond to the most basic of it's duty's.
