Comment: "THEY need to stop being homophobic and anti-Semitic" -- "they" being black Americans. What about white Americans? Don't they also need to stop being homophobic and anti-Semitic--not to mention racist, as the author of this column seems to be? (I am white, in case you're wondering.)

Comment: I want to know if the media is going to disgust the Pat Buchanan controversial blog on race and slavery. it was disgusting and un-American. I want to know if they are going to dissect and analyze his comments the same way they did Rev. Wright. I think Pat Buchanan should be removed from MSNBC and I am going to be shouting this until somebody listens. Fellow bloggers, please read Buchanan's blog -http://buchanan.org/blog/?p=969 - If you are offended by his words of hatred and bigotry please write emails to letters@msnbc.com and request that he be removed as a contributor on MSNBC/NBC. Let him go over to Fox News and spew his hatred for fellow Americans. Thanks!

Comment: Great article. I have been saying for months, prior to Sen. Obama's rise, that we need to stop electing politicians, but elect a real leader. Someone who wants to partnership with the American people and not just govern over the people as "The Decider". I don't understand how we put them into office, pay their salary with our taxes and we have no say in what they do during their entire term outside of national polls, which, as an American I have NEVER been polled! Hail to President Obama!

    Comment:

I would think McCain's age is no excuse for his intelligence or his grasp of the magnitude (or lack there of) of the single biggest foreign policy blunder in the history of "The United States of America"

The fact that the presumptive Republican nominee apparently doesn't have a clue what's going on in the Middle East would seem to be a big story. But not to the mainstream media. As soon as they heard the Straight Talk Express had run off the road, they sprang into action to get the wreckage out of view -- excusing McCain's Iran/al Qaeda confusion as a "gaffe." But it was the opposite of a gaffe. It was evidence -- evidence we should not ignore. We already know what it's like to have a president who just assumes that whichever way he wants things to be "common knowledge." It turns out it's not just Bush's war that McCain wants to continue; it's Bush's approach.

Comment: Dear HolyRoller, I reach out to you once again in an effort to make you feel your personal pain, which must be huge if you are compelled to spend hours on this blog, day after day, spewing irrational hate and anger.

You have chosen the name HolyRoller and say that you are a Christian. Remember that Christ was about LOVE.

Notice that even Reverend Wright caught himself in the middle of anger, and asked for God's forgiveness (see my prior post for details). You need to get a grip, man. You are hurting yourself. And you are hurting your cause. Your posts are so obviously bigoted that you are making the Obama detractors look stupid, which defeats your purpose. Go ahead and be against Obama, but if you express yourself with more thoughtfulness and emotional restraint, you might actually influence some people to see your point of view.

You must experience a tremendous amount of loneliness and emotional pain. Please try and break out of your shell, and let God's healing love reach you. Everyone on this website would stand up and cheer for you if you could make this transformation. I'm not saying change your political views, keep them. But let go of the hate, release the anger. Let yourself cry.

Comment: Nins-your boring. I'm curious about something though. You say you are a Christian. Do you believe Hussein is a Christian? If you discovered he was a muslim, would it affect your support for him? If you discovered he had taken money from people who fund terror groups would it affect your support? If you discovered he was friends with admitted terrorists would it affect your support for him. That's enough for starters. Answer back and ask me anything you want to know. Lets try to quit name calling and get to know each other a little better.

And all you have to say is that she is boring. I feel pity for you, because you are lost in darkness and the light has been offered to you time and time again and yet you have refused it. Nothing good will ever come out out of your desperate behavior. Things can only get worse if you continue this way.

I agree on that and I admit to being guilty of it myself. I'm glad that you have some interest in what Nins has to say. The other problem I have with your comments to Nins is that you continue to talk about Christians and Islam and Hussein, etc.... Why can't you see it's not about that? It's not about what religion we practice. Why should religion be such a big elephant in the room for you?

    Comment:

Obama's speech more than answered the pressing questions that I had after I first heard the clips of Reverend Wright's incendiary sermons. Obama spoke well, not only about himself and his relation to Wright, but about where we are in America today as we continue to heal from our early sin of slavery. Sorry to all the non-religious people reading this, but in my view slavery is a sin, and we as a nation committed it. We also have worked hard to redeem ourselves and have made great progress, but our task is as yet unfinished.

I'm a middle-aged white Christian conservative Republican, and I feel that Obama has appropriately answered the uproar surrounding the Wright controversy.

Other than listening to Obama's speech, I took the trouble to find several sermons by Rev. Wright on line. Although he is definitely too Afro-centric for me, I have to say that the clip about 9/11 was taken out of context. Directly before the "America, your chickens have come home to roost!" remark he was quoting scripture about soldiers who murder innocent non-combatants, and directly after his angry remarks he was talking about how everyone, including himself, has to open themselves to god and ask for healing from anger. He actually said that he felt his own anger was out of place and sinful. They didn't show that on TV.

I deeply resent the way the media is irresponsibly manipulating our nation with intentional misleading mis-information. This is all about their ratings and profits, and has nothing to do with the candidates themselves, or the serious issues facing our nation at a time of economic decline.

You owe it to yourself to read the books and visit the websites of ALL of the candidates. I did this, and now when I watch the news I have a better idea of when I'm being misled. I have a much deeper understanding of the candidates, which is important, since one of them is going to be our next president.

    Read up, America!

Barack Obama???s speech last week addressing his 20-year relationship with his radical pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, was very well done, yet unconvincing.

Obama sought to explain that relationship and why he could not end this close association, despite the minister's hate-filled rhetoric. He said, ???There will no doubt be those for whom my statements of condemnation are not enough. Why associate myself with Rev. Wright in the first place, they may ask? Why not join another church????

Yes, those are the questions that people are asking.

Many of Rev. Wright???s incendiary statements are on videos sold by his church. Minister Louis Farrakhan, a friend of Rev. Wright with whom he traveled to visit Muammar Qadaffi in Libya, also makes his sermons and those of others associated with the Nation of Islam available for sale. Their attacks on the U.S. and Israel often coincide with those of Rev. Wright.

Rev. Wright???s sermons charge that the U.S. government gives African-Americans drugs, created AIDS, and is deliberately infecting blacks with that disease. His sermons claim that the U.S. unjustifiably nuclear bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki in World War II, and that 9/11 and the deaths of 3,000 Americans were caused by U.S. foreign policy.

He alleges Israeli state terrorism against the Palestinians; calling Israel a ???dirty word??? and ???racist country.??? He blames Israel for 9/11 and supports the divestment campaign against it, denouncing ???Zionism.??? His venomous thoughts are summed up in his most discussed sermon in which he says the U.S. government ???wants us to sing God Bless America. No, no, not God Bless America. God damn America. God damn America for killing innocent people.???

Over Sen Clinton its only 9%, still considerable but not crushing numbers like the BarackStar's. Also, new polls show 29% of Clinton supporters will vote McCain if Hussein gets the nomination. In addition as many as 10% of Hussein voters in early primaries were Republicans. They want him to get the nomination. Then a Republican victory is all but assured.

It also would send a terrible message to Islam, if this great country nominates one of their own, for President of the USA. Now in a nutshell. Islam is filth. It has no redeeming qualities. It teaches a doctrine of death. They want all non-muslims to convert or be killed. AND Barack Hussein Obama is a mohammed. He is also a crook and a fraud.

Comment: HolyRoller, I have expressed my concern for your well being in previous posts. I don't object to the fact that you obviously are against Obama, that is your choice and I respect it. I just am worried about the level of anger and hatred in your blogs. This can't be good for you emotionally. Here's a quote from a current Newsweek article:

When we are angry with someone, we empower the person we hate the most in that moment to make us stressed out or even sick. That's not smart. Seen from that perspective, the most "selfish" thing we can do is to be more compassionate, tolerant and forgiving. When we forgive someone, it doesn't excuse their actions; it frees us from our own chronic stress and suffering, so it's in our own self-interest. ???

So I am asking you, for your own sake, to lighten up on the emotional intensity of your rhetoric. Not only for your own well being, but because you must realize that the average Newsweek reader is not a neo-Con, therefore, your posts tend to reinforce the idea that Obama detractors are ignorant fringe elements. You are shooting yourself in the foot in so many ways.

I am not saying this in an effort to discount what you are saying, but in a effort to help you. God bless.

You think Wright is off his rocker-...Fox "News" had to splice Wrights sermons that were years apart-you can go week to week with Parsley . McCain is toast-the democratic turnout is 3-1.
