YOU ARE CONFUSED WITH THE OTHER BLACK GUY. PLEASE GET UPDATED!
Barack is certainly more meaningful than Barry - and is he true name. It is easy to see how it would make more sense to him. Besides Barack means "Blessed" and I truly believe he has been blessed !
He is blessed and we Americans are very lucky to have this "once in a life time candidate " there are no second chances, God works in mysterious ways ! No candidate has ever been more appropriate , ever !
United we will make it, United we will WIN against all evil and catastrophy ....
Stop the bashing of a gentle soul, let's concentrate on the issues !
Barack Obama for President of the United States of America , God's Will be done !
If that really is your intended cover shot, it's quite clear you're less interested in telling your readers about his historical background , than you are of choosing photos that clearly focus on his racial components. You and Chris Matthews and CNN and FOX clearly have an hard edged anti-Obama bias. We all know how it works now because it's really all about 'war'. isn't it? Any kind of war , anywhere is what makes the money and creates your 'news' of choice.
Bulickily, and HOPEfully the public is saying "NOT THIS TIME!
Hey azmaqq, are you talking about the Chris Mathews who said he gets a chill up his leg whenever Obama speaks?
Or is it the Chris Mathews who said Obama's speach on race relations will go down in history as the greatest race speach in history?
Yea, thats real hard edged anti-Obama bias.
When I was a freshman at Assumption High School, an all girl, 99% white, catholic High School, I took to being called by my formal name of Kortz, "hey Kortz" my friends called me. I then gave all of my children my formal name as their middle name. I am 51, and a lawyer and I am supporting 100% Barak Obama and being I pride myself on being a smart woman who is fair. It is clear that racism and sexism and ignorance is still a problem for America. I just hope we have coming farther if even only enough farther to show the world that we are more than what we have seemed. We have so many things that need our attention now. Barack Obama is exactly what we need to draw our attentions where they need to be - on ourselves as kind and smart and humble human beings as best as we can be now. Religious strife around the world, cultural and environmental woes abound now. We must make the right decisions now and stop this ignorant and devisive language and begin by electing Obama, bringing our troops home, taking care of them and agressively attacking our problems in a different way.
I've seen too much vitriol and hatred spewed by all camps, fox news, and every single political blog on the web that I'm again becoming disenchanted by the election process. I've seen commentary dripping with poison aimed at other bloggers, at the candidates, at pastors, donors and everyone in between. What is most disturbing for me, however, is the vitriol between the two camps of the running democratic nominees. It has become a war betwwen and about personalities. Are we really all that silly, unsophistocated and ignorant?
This "Anti-Christ" stuff is so very very ludicrous. How far must one reach to try to bring this man down? It seems pretty far to me. And the war between the Obamaniacs and the Clintonistas is getting downright disgusting. Everywhere on the web, weblog, newspaper blog, or commentary of any kind is personal, directed at other voters (and obviously the candidates) that this election process is once again losing its appeal.
Barack strikes me as a brilliant young man who's destined to be president..the word "historic" is written all over him. He has more human experience than any of the other candidates combined. He will be our next president, nobody comes close to this man in worldly knowledge, intelligence, honesty and personal appeal. Thanks Marta
whenever an obstacle occurs he comes forward and answers it. He is genuine and deserves a chance. Some are afraid of him. Seek the truth and it will set you free. More need to vote! Let me ask you this. Can we be any worst off with who we have now?
what we have now is the bottom of the pit it cannot be worse
Beware of the ayes of March and beware of platitudinous ponderosities. Monkey doh see his own tail but he can always see another monkey's tail....Lets all run with the hares and hunt with the hounds and pretend to be caesar's wife. Godd luck soothsayers.
Obama is a God sent son of to save America. He is going to with repulican machine Mcain-Bush war monger machine land slide. When l saw the full text of the Pastor Wright sermon changed my mind to vote for Obama. He is the only God sent individual to save America.
You need to ask yourself, "Am I a carbon copy of my friends and colleagues? or am I an individual who has the ability to sort through a multitude of ideas and determine for myself what I choose to believe in?" How can anyone "assume" that a person agrees and has the same ideals as a one of their friends? People who think that way are obviously very narrow-minded and can't see the forest for the trees.
No doubt, 911 was a horrible tragedy, but one can not assume that EVERY PERSON from Trinity Church believes that the US deserved it. Do you judge people by association? Then I guess you also must believe that EVERY PERSON who works in the tobacco factories believe that tobacco smoking is completely safe. Do you believe that too?
I have black friends who are racists and I have white friends who are racists. Does that make me a racist too?
if your still hanging out with these friends --- YES! ---- or you could be just stupid
if your still hanging out with these friends ------ YES !! --- or your pretty stupid !
Face it folks, America could be_I hope is assureldy_ready for a President who is capable grasping issues from other than the establishment perspective. The establishment has failed us time and time again, and getting rid of the establishment from the top first means there could some tough decissions. Yet no one can deny starting from the top is just as good as a place as any.
Those of you who say "he doesn't represent you" are more in love with yourself and some aspect of your identity than really listening to power of ideas. Ideas_the right ideas_have always been what success in America is built on to differentiate our country's identity from the world. That's not just rhetoric of an emty suit, this election embodies the ideas needed find a way to regain our position of leadership with world affairs.

lol @ charliewhite ...... WHAT?!
I agree with Charlie as this guy, Obama is going to a church with a "Minister" who says the US deserved 911. I can't believe any true American could support anyone who listens to this nonsense and continues to attend church where this hatred is promoted and only protests when exposed and called out on the carpet. I can only imagine what the relatives of the innocent victims of 911 might think about that as one only has to see the footage of buring men and women jumping from the towers to relive this horror....at least McCain is a true hero.
"911victimsremember" , somebody played you for a fool. Rev. Wright NEVER said that the US deserved 911. His remarks were taken TOTALLY OUT OF CONTEXT. Whoever scoured through thirty plus years of sermons to find potentially volatile snippets can only have done this intentionally. This is the definition of BEARING FALSE WITNESS against one's neighbor. There are links to the entire sermons on Roland Martin's blogs on CNN. If you listen to them, you will understand that Wright has nothing but compassion for the victims of 911. He is as traumatized by it as we all were. The thesis of the sermon was "what should our response be?" The "chickens coming home to roost" clip was his reference to Ambassador Edward Peck's statements on Fox News.
lol @ charliewhite ...... WHAT?!
He does not have anywhere the experience or judgment required to lead this country especially on an international level with a war on terror. Heck he cant even choose a church
It is the blue collar mentality like yourself why this country has an arrested development. This blue collar mentality is pervasive because of one main culprit, 'classical conditioning'.
The controversy regarding Senator Obama's pastor, Rev Wright, forces one to question Senator Obama's credibility. The Senator continues to claim that he never heard Rev. Wright make the controversial comments that have been made available to the public. He claims he didn't attend church on those days when these sermons were delivered. Meanwhile, the African American community, including their pastors, all over the country tell us that the comments of Rev Wright are typical of the opinions expressed in their churches. Which is it? I suggest these folks get their stories together. Until they do, folks who are outraged by the opinions of Rev Wright that we are hearing will not be favorably disposed to someone who spent over 20 years sitting his pews, being married by him, having his children baptized by him. Senator Obama is claiming to have moral supreriority over "the politics of the past." He will will be held to a higher standard because he has invited the American people to do so.
Obama is the most impressive candidate for president that I have seen since 1980. He is a first class guy who is very bright. He is a Harvard grad and 11-12 year senator who has served well on the Senate Foreign relations committee. He is a man of strong values.
If you want to know Obama don't go by a bunch of political attack videos made by his old retired civil right pastor who is out of the mold of Hosea Williams and MLK who held much resentment from a previous generation, but read his two books, work at Harvard, review his voting record and most of all listen to him.. He is an honest guy.. Not perfect but honest.
He will be a great president. Give him a chance.
Obama is the most impressive individual that I have experienced as a presidential candidate since 1980. He has plenty of experience with 11-12 years as a senator while serving on the Senate Foreign relations committee.. He is an outstanding human being who America should be proud of. If you all want to understand Obama, read his books, his Harvard writings, and his voting records, Don't define himby his old civil rights uncle.. That is not Obama and those who try to define Obama by his retired pastor are simply sick and politically motivated.
I am tired of the Clintons and Bushs.. I really never liked either one.. Both have horrible value systems. Nader is old news too..
Give Obama a chance, you won't be sorry.
Thank you Senator Obama for sharing your photos. I loved your speech on race. It was right on target and on time. All I have to say concerning the negative commentors below is let him without sin, cast the first stone. Senator Obama, I support you and I am praying for you and your family. Keep your head up and don't sweat the small stuff or people with small minds. May God continue to bless you and those who support you.
