As I understand from the article, these books are being distributed by private citizens using private funds, and reading this book is completely voluntary. To even consider banning this book, which obviously gives hope and comfort to many men and women who are risking their lives every day, in an extremely misguided effort to line up with some warped idea of separation of church and state, would be censorship of the highest degree. There will ALWAYS be a majority and a minority. You can NEVER make everyone happy. We do not have a constitutional right to not be offended--we do have a constitutional right to free speech. I found this article completely ridiculous, without any merit whatsoever. I could go on and on, but looking at the other comments, I think that the majority of other readers came to a similar conclusion. Next time, Miss Miller, find a real issue to write about

the military must be taking the bible all out of context to make themselves feel good and like God is on their side about killing others. that is not what Jesus teaches us to. wanna be christians need to get out of the military and politics and stop worshipping money and really see what Jesus is teaching.

I would like to remind Mr. Sharlet that this holy war was NOT started by the United States. It was started by a prophet and the religion he invented over 1400 years ago. The hatred that exsits between Jews, Christians and Muslims are taken from the precepts codified in the Quran (Sura 5:60 and 9:5) to be specific. That our men and women who fight search for a deeper meaning to life by finding a deeper relationship with God proves that once again we fight the good fight. And while there are those like Mr Sharlet who might disagree, the sacrifice that our men and women make on the field of battle for the sake of others, is the same sacrifice Christ made for us when he died on the cross.
