Why is no one talking about lowering the speed limits so that we can drive smaller and smaller cars. It would save thousands of lives each year. Everyone is complaining about their rushed and fast paced lives. Where are we going to start slowing down and living at a more reasonable pace. Vehicles running 75 to 85 MPH bumper to bumper and side by side is suiside pure and simple. With all the seat belt laws and child restraint laws, how many people are still crippled and/or killed each year? What is the rush?

It would save thousands of lives each year and force us to slow down a bit and maybe it would spill over into other parts of their lives. I think that the phrase free interprize is being carried to far, the Oil companies that are goudging the american
public are recieveing millions of our tax dollars in subsidies while they are getting almost a trillion dollars a week in proffits . the fact that all the congress and all the senate are to blame when they took the controls off
of big business the the cost of every thing started to snowball, the government also gave big business tax
to move out of this country, and that is where most of the american good paying jobs went

Sorry my post came up all these times. Computer problem. I drive a 95 Turcel 1.5 litre 4 cyclender. gets 50mpg if I keep it under 65 mph. Its quick and fun to drive. They quit making them in 98. If I switch to Amzoil in engine and tranny, manual. And use KN filters. It could do better. Next oil change.

The real problem is the internal combustion engine being outdated since the model T. There are many patents on external combustion engines that are far superior and cheaper to make and run. One uses an internal closed system of expanding gas when heated, this gas powers the Motor then is recycled through a condensor for re-heating/expansion. This motor using 6 chevy 350 pistons makes 1650 HP at any rpm. Pistons are driven on either and both sides. Look it up at USgov.gov. Patent office. ###3,970,055. While there look up ### 5,105,111, for an electric motor that was used in the 1980, Daytona NY solar powered race. It performed flawlessly, Other complications with the car ket it from being noticed. This is tech. That will never make it to market because it isnt wastefull enough.

Diesel is the answer 70MPG with performance is common in europe. Just look at what's happening in endurance racing gas powered teams are getting their asses kicked by diesel teams which are way more powerful and so fuel efficient that they've been forced to use smaller fuel tanks to give the gas teams a chance to keep with them.
