3 more polygamist-sect members indicted in Texas
Grand jury proceedings are secret, but numerous documents and photos disclosed as part of a separate child custody case show girls, some as young as 12, purportedly married to middle-aged men.
Generally under Texas law, no one younger than 17 can consent to sex with an adult.
The state's bigamy statute includes prohibitions against legally marrying or even purporting to marry more than one person. Many of the FLDS unions are so-called "spiritual" marriages, unions blessed by the church but with no legal record.
The FLDS believes polygamy brings glorification in heaven. The Mormon church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, renounced polygamy more than a century ago.
Jeffs, convicted in Utah last year as an accomplice to rape for the marriage of a 14-year-old girl to her older cousin, awaits trial in Arizona on similar charges.

Comment: The State of Texas HAS to do something to free themselves from liability both criminal and civil at this point. The same reason they wouldn't and didn't just return the kids to their nparents as they should have and said "Sorry! We screwed up and we've been harrassing and persecuting and persuing you for years because our culture will not tolerate different!" Especially when dealing with either Religion or Sex and they lose on both counts... Queen Victoria simply will not die in Anglo America...but she is finally lying in Death bed...Abuse my ass. Any more then since the beginning of time.........or any culture on earth.

Comment: hey sjbrock80 just because you don't support it doesn't mean it doesn't happen so i guess you support teen pregnancy huh because kids are still going to do what they want.i don't support it either but i'd rather my kid wear a condom than catch aids or something else because i want to pretened it doesn't go on.and no i really think those old guys in that sect should have there junk cut off .send the kids back and send the men to jail
