Comment: The Green Movement has brought social responsibility into a new, fresher market. We weren???t too interested in sustainable living before we had the cause to ???save the planet??? even though for decades business leaders warned that we needed to be socially responsible in how we ran our businesses. I am glad for the commitment universities are making to teach young entrepreneurs and future corporate leaders to think about profits for today and for generations to come. Comment: This post is perfect because it shows that sustinability is worth the cost of transition. I agree that we should be cautious of investing too much in our future and forgetting about the present. its great when consumers demand these types of practices and they become wealth builders for everyone.

Comment: Does it really surprsie anybody that ther business schools, probably funded by big business are more green?
It aint becuase they are environmentally friendly, cut the car & plane travel for that, its purely a business decision, green is popular, so lets go with that then.
As the late great Bill Hicks said,'hey thats the concerened market big dollar in that one' ect
Time will tell what changes this will make, one other comment kyoto treaty!!
Peace
Comment: I love the description of ecological economics as an "emerging field". It's amusing, considering this is the essence of economic theory! Natural resources are the only resources. I went to a small undergraduate college that Newsweek has likely never mentioned, and took Ecological Economics in my final semester prior to graduation. Hawken's "Natural Capitalism" was published in 2000. It's 2008, Newsweek. Where've you been?
