"Desperate Housewives" star Teri Hatcher must have been hitting the karaoke bars during the writers' strike. That might explain why she wanted to sing during last week's "Idol Gives Back." While she may have helped bring in the funds—more than $60 million; last year's tally was $76 million—she didn't exactly bring down the house with her flat version of Carrie Underwood's hit "Before He Cheats." At least one person knew to keep his distance: Ryan Seacrest, Hatcher's former "paramour" and inveterate spotlight hog, managed to go missing throughout her performance. Seacrest out indeed.
