Obama defends his patriotism, quarrels with McCain
"Hillary and Barack have both run very strong and great races, and I think they'd be a strong ticket together," Schumer told a breakfast.
After the speech, Obama stopped at Schultzie's Billiards hall, where he showed greater skill at pool than he had at bowling last month in Pennsylvania.
As a small crowd oohed and ahhed at his third consecutive good shot, Obama said his skill was "the sign of a misspent youth. I wasn't doing wholesome things like bowling."
Still, Obama lost to Iraqi war veteran Paul Scott, 24, because he accidentally knocked in the eight ball prematurely.
Obama told reporters he will have to consistently fight rumors that he doesn't say the Pledge of Allegiance, among other falsehoods widely spread on the Internet. "This is something that's been systematically fed into the bloodstream," he said. He said he had no idea who is doing it.
Obama's campaign announced Monday that he will visit politically neglected Florida and Michigan, as he pivots to a general election strategy.

McCain, of being the establishment candidate for the Republican party. But there is a major void in the Republican race waiting to be filled. A recent Strategic Vision poll of likely Republican caucus-goers in Iowa found that a sizable majority (54% to 37%) favored "withdrawal of all United States military from Iraq within the next six months." Other than Ron Paul, however, there is no Republican in the race speaking for these voters on this issue.

McCain's Character -- A Disaster Waiting To Happen
by John LeBoutillie
Ronald Kessler's excellent piece in Newsmax on Senator John McCain's erratic and explosive temper is 100% dead on target. As someone who has known McCain for 32 years, I can unequivocally state that he should be no where near the Oval Office.
His behavior through the years tells us all we need to know: he is a spoiled brat-turned adult who demeans people who dare to disagree with him; he has an explosive temper that can erupt on a nanosecond's notice; he is a total liar who will tell you something one day and then totally deny it the next (more on that below); he is a political chameleon who is enabled by the so-called Main Stream Media; he is also a megalomaniac whose former POW status has allowed him to get away with things -- i.e. the Keating Five Scandal -- that others would have gone to jail for.
In sum, McCain is a disaster waiting-to-happen.
