Comment: I think it's better to teach you r kids to love themselves just the way they are. I haven't read this book yet so I don't know if the book explain to the kid why her mom has got the surgery. I will be upset if the book try to tell kids not to proud of their bodies. Anyway, I still think it's such a weird book ever.

Oh, God, what is this world coming to? So now Mom is expected to look like a bimbo? Why is it that so many people value money and looks of a certain kind-especially surgically enhanced? Why can't we be happy with the way God made us? I'm not perfect-I'm no supermodel but I've come to like what I see in the mirror-I don't look like anyone else and I'm proud. Children think their moms are beautiful no matter what and once they start seeing them changing things that are "wrong" they will follow their example. That's what children do. They see mom smoke-they think it's o.k. so they do. Same with this and I agree with another poster who said that they will start picking out their own "flaws" also and thinking they need to change it. A nose with a bump on it is not a flaw, thin lips are not a flaw. Someone will find those characteristics attractive. It makes me sick that this book says mom is "prettier" after her nose job. What a horrible message to send to our children. Vomit!

What if mommy had a septal defect? and could not breath properly? She would need surgery after that too you know...

Hahaha I love it. Glad I don't have kids to bring up in this stupid world full of idiots. Next children's book, "Mommy Got a Nose Job and So Can I: How to Introduce Your Child to the World of Plastic Surgery."

Excerpt: Tired of having fat kids? Wanted a blonde daughter? Well now you can explain how much you hate what they look like, while making them laugh and have fun!

I am a mother of two daughters, 7 and 5, and I had breast augmentation done last year. It was something I have alwasy wanted and waited until I was done breast-feeding to so. I think that in today's society, whether you like it or not, people (moms) are having plastic surgery and kids are curious to ask questions about it. I think there is nothing wrong with this book. My daughters dont even think about the change in my appearance because I am still mommy. And just like a haircut or any other physicaly change, they notice and they move on. It does not send any kid of sick message to them. If my daughters feel the need for plastic surgery when they are over 18, I have no problem with it. I dont care what people say about you have to love yourself and you will be happy with your body. Let's face it, not everyone looks like they would want in a perfect world. There is nothing wrong with plastic surgery if it makes you feel better about yourself.

I am not a mother but I used to work for a plastic surgeon. I would say that the better part of our patients were parents. And by parents I mean mothers AND fathers (although no surprise, a higher female patient base). The fact is that this type of surgery carries the same risks as every other kind of surgery, the only difference is that it is elective. If a person is having plastic surgery for the right reasons - I see no problem with them doing so. Whether they are a parent or not shouldn't factor in whatsoever. This book seems a little weird to me - but I suppose it could be helpful in explaining to small children why mommy is so bruised after surgery. To a child that could be understandably pretty upsetting.

If you love yourself just the way God made you, then good for you! Isn't that special?! But reality check - most of us aren't that lucky. And if you are healthy enough both emotionally and physically to do something about it then more power to you.

WHATS NEXT DOC YOU GONNA WRITE A BOOK FOR KIDS WHO WANT PLASTIC SURGURY, CUZ AFTER THIS WE ARE GOING TO NEED ONE. I understand where you are coming from, but most people get gastric-bypass because their weight limits them from doing daily activities. I do like to remind you, that even after gastric-bypass (aka Tummy Tucks) patients still need to keep a healthy life style such as exercise & proper diet. And often Gastric-bypass only removes minimal waste the rest is up to you. If you feel that your are overweight then take the next step, do something about it! Start by going to the Gym! (diets don't work and neither do magic pills) make a commitment to a healthy lifestyle! And guess what you would not need to go under the knife! Obesity sadly enough composes a large number of americans nowadays and this leads to people often having MI's, varicose veins, self-steem issues. No one says you have to be "skinny-aneroxic" but you got to be healthy! So love yourself inside and out and go workout!

There is no logic to that book. None. Why in gods name would anyone come up with a book like that. You are born with flaws. No one is perfect. The next book that will have to be published is why did mommy die. "oh well, she wanted a nose job, and something went wrong while she was under the knife and she's dead now" If a person is happy inside they won't feel so ugly on.That publisher needs a few prayers..........

I am so disgusted by this book. I recently had an exfriend who had her boobs done.....she had just received her divorce settlement and that is what she bought. With worrying about money and bills and being a sinle mom now...this was a priority for her. Notice I said, EX friend. My comment then was...how do you explain to a young girl why Mommy would want to do this to her body? Our priorities as mother's should be to teach our children to love our bodies and be the healthiest we can....this is pathetic!

Oh, God, what is this world coming to? So plastic surgery makes your prettier??? I beg to differ-have you seen about two dozen celebrities that look like they got in horrible car crashes because their faces are so mangled from plastic surgery?? This new generation of children are going to grow up and become just like the trash they are seeing on television-Paris Hilton filth and think and judge people on how "beautiful" they are-like there is one definition of it. .. Sick.

I will make sure to make a note of books NEVER to buy and put it on the first line! I love the part where the child comments that his mommy is already beautiful and she reply's how she's going to be more beauiful after surgery, which gives the suttle hint that she doesn't think she's pretty. So every time she tells her child your beautiful, the childs thinking if mommy doesn't think she's good enough without surgery... Am I? I think we should throw out books written by REAL AUTHORS and have Paris Hilton and various plastic surgeons write books to guide our youth and see how fast this nation goes down in flames as if we don't already have enough problems. Things such as this should be discussed with adults and never discussed with a child its just too much to process.

There is a big difference about having plastic surgery done for yourself and using a book like this to press it on small children.
