The so-called WOT is used to fight to justify many things against the SUNNI franchise-like islamist movement Al-Qaeda, but Gitmo prisoners have been captured/abducted/found in various places, for different reasons that have sometimes nothing to do with WOT ... or explain why so few of them have been prosecuted compared to the hundreds arrested and interrogated (should I have said tortured ?) during those 6 1/2 YEARS since 9.11 .... or why so many of them have been sent back to their home countries where they walk (almost) freely, if they are die-hard terrorists ? You know, SUNNI Al-qaida was backed by Pakistan military apparatus (via the Taliban), and financed by Saudi families, both allies of the US and buddies to the Big Oil companies ... does it even make sense ? with friends like that, who need enemies ...
And for your info, SHIITES are another islam movement, whose members are presently running the government in Iraq, and enjoying the support of the Bush clique, and who are also supported by Iran (another shiite-majority country, like Lebanon). Iran, being a determined foe of Al-Qaida, is however on the target list of the US in the WOT ...
