Heat Your Vegetables

Crops in the tropics will do worse, since extra heat where it's already hot hurts more than it helps.

Pacific NW snowpack levels as of May 1, 2008 can be found here: http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/img/climate/research/2008/apr/MtnSnowpack_1May08.gif

The article only seems strange to those unfamiliar with the religious fervor of many supporters of the flawed theory of CO2 warming. Facts are unimportant to those who know the "truth." As a former Oregonian I am well aware of above average snowpack in the Northwest US, in contrast to Begley's assertion. (With the Pacific Decadal Oscillation having switched to its cool phase, above normal snowfall may be the new norm.) The following article details other errors. http://blogs.woodtv.com/?p=3578

I logged on to chastise Ms. Begley for her gaffes in this article, only to find the subject well covered.

One more tidbit for the critics: Azolla, used as natural fertilizer in China, is the fastest growing plant on the planet. There once was a time when it grew in huge floating mats covering the arctic ocean every summer, precisely because of the long (18-24 hour) daily sunshine. Of course, the earth was a tad warmer then, and CO2 was more than ten times the current level.

So what was that again about lower agricutural productivity at higher latitudes because of lack of sunlight?
