    Comment: Love this article. Such informed voters. Obama voter: "I finally got swayed Obama's way," he said. "He's like a magician -- he pulled a lot of good tricks out of his hat."

    Also, Obama's focus on education "really hit home," he said. "He was going to win North Carolina anyway, so what the heck."

    Wonderful. He votes because Obama's a magician and well what the heck. He mentions education when Senator Clinton successfully worked for teacher reform in Arkansas 25 years ago and has been a staunch advocate of children and education since then. This article is proof of the priorities of Obama voters. Changing something requires knowing how it is done and having done something before. You will be voting a man who is unqualified and unable even to run the US Senate into the presidency. You will be putting a nation who is actively at war in Iraq and Afghanistan and facing global terror and whose economy has already fallen apart into the hands of an unproven, untested politician. God help us.

    Comment: Are you willing to take a life to save $0.33, or $0.66 a day.
    You who think this "GAS TAX HOLIDAY" is the right way to go, are doing just that.

    If three months of tax free gas = a $30.00 savings.
    You save about .33 cents a day.
    If three months of tax free gas = a $60.00 savings.
    You save about .66 cents a day.

    At the cost of OVER 300,000 jobs. Is this worth that savings?
    At the cost of unsafe roads. Where the pot holes will not be repaired because the funds needed for repair are given to you so you can save money everyday.
    At the cost of lives when a driver loses control of their car because they hit a pot hole and blew a tire, and runs in front of a school bus causing a school bus full of children to go off a cliff, or roll over and burn. But you get your daily savings.
    At the cost of bridge failures, because the funds are not there for inspections and/or repairs. But you save .66 cents a day.
    At the cost of snow removal when you get over 4 feet of snow and can not leave your home. Emergency people will not be able to get to your loved one who is in dire need of emergency medical help. The money is not there for all the over time required to remove the ice and snow and make driving safe. BUT you get to save .66 cent a day.

    I have a better idea drink one less cup of coffee a day,Or buy one less beer a day. These are both things that will save you MORE than .66 cents a day, and is healthier.
    This gas tax holiday has been tried before and it failed. The only people who benefited were the gas companies. They just raised the price of gas.

    Clinton knows this, she is just trying to get the to uninformed, and the poor. If she does not know this was tried in Illinois than this just proves she is not in tune with what is happening in the Senate. And she does not pay attention to what is going on, what changes other senators are trying to make.

      Comment: Why don't you the time you spent on this to learn something. Hillary's proposal would be paid for by windfall profits and not effect anything. Why can't you read and learn something instead of parroting the present obamabot propaganda? The level of ignorance (as in uneducated on the facts and the issues) of Obama supporters in these blogs is appalling. Worse, you continue to use them and personal attacks to support a candidate who has no plans and no experience. Great way to convince Clinton supporters to follow your messiah. It's just plain sad, because we who have internet access are not the ones who are going to be mortally wounded financially when Obama takes over. He has no grasp on the economy, doesn't want to help with foreclosures, has made no definitive stand on jobs or how he will concretely create them and has absolutely no foreign policy experience and will sit down with our sworn enemies--including terrorists--without preconditions. He spent 33 days out of the country; 1 overnight in Europe (sum total of European travel - has never visited our other European allies on their soil); spent 15 in Africa, where, when asked his opinion, said he didn't know enough to comment; spent only 2 days in Iraq and never went to Afghanistan or Pakistan as the rest of the CODEL did. Instead of visiting the country he was so concerned about as the reason to speak out on Iraq, he went to the West Bank, Jordan and Qatar. Instead of talking to our only troops and military leaders in Afghanistan - he chose to go and speak to Palestinian businessmen, students and leaders two weeks before HAMAS was voted into power. Our would-be president chose to meet with the owner of Al Jazeera and with Palestinians instead of American troops. And all of you think this is ok. And all of you still think he has good judgment. But his mantra of JUDGMENT! HOPE! CHANGE! HONESTY! have been bought as gospel. Sure, hate Hillary Clinton, but who can tell me, even with the delusion that Chicago politics born, Obama is a *new type* of politician, that Hillary Clinton would not be ready to lead on day one? Look at how they have campaigned since February. Who speaks of issues and solutions? Who complains about tactics and whatever else? Whose he going to complain to when he's president? What type of judgment is he going to show? In order for judgment not be assessed, one has to act on that judgment - he never did. So be happy your messiah has come to rescue the American people. I hope he brings with him some miracles. Thanks for allowing me to speak. Go ahead and tell me what a pig Bill is or what a liar Hillary is if it will make you feel better.

    I don???t have a link to the ad itself, but apparently there???s an Obama ad citing something I said about McCain???s gas tax holiday as a way to attack Hillary Clinton.

    I did not say that the Clinton proposal would increase oil industry profits. If the ad implies that I did, it should be retracted.

    The Clinton proposal is financed by an excess profits tax. At worst, it sends money in a circle. In practice, it would probably reduce oil industry profits at least slightly, since the rise in the pre-tax price of gasoline probably wouldn???t wipe out all of the tax cut.

    I was very clear when I wrote about the Clinton proposal that while I didn???t think it was good policy, it was not the same as McCain???s, and relatively harmless. If the Obama people are suggesting otherwise, they???re being deliberately dishonest.

      Comment: What's really bad regarding the gas tax holiday is that many of the local news stations and even MSNBC talks about it like it will actually save people 18 cents/gallon. That's irresponsible because it won't.
      The tax is on the gas company; not the consumer. It's a holiday for the people that make the gas.

      It seems that a lot of people under the impression that it may not be the best idea, but it will still save them 18 cents. So maybe they'll entertain the idea that a short term fix is better than nothing.

      Somebody still needs to educate the news media before they can educate or inform the voters.

    Obama has not been in the public eye long enough to know who he is, Clinton has been gone over by the MSM too harshly to have secrets.

    Obama is very liberal in his politics (he talked about not wanting his girls punished by pregnancy when speaking of his pro-choice stance) . Clinton is hated by the old guard democrats in part because of the centralist nature of her politics (while pro-choice Clinton says every abortion is a tragedy)

    Obama thinks 17 cents a gallon is nothing. Clinton says the oil companies record profits should pay for road and bridge upkeep tax for the summer.

      Comment: It's not 17 cents a gallon is nothing. It's that giving the gas companies an extra 17 cents/gallon for the summer is not helping consumers at all. I don't know anyone that feels the poor gas companies need a break. Presenting it as a break for consumers is dishonest unless you have a signed contract from the gas companies saying that they will reduce the price.

There is a lot of stuff that isn't known about the Clintons; especially regarding activities since the time in the Whitehouse and related to Whitewater trial activities.

      Just because nobody is answering the questions does not mean the questions don't exist. Obama is actually the most vetted candidate in the race.

    Comment: I agree with notroubleatall1963. We Dems have to stop the fighting because we should have this election nailed down with all of the enthusiasm behind our two remaining candidates. The only thing that can stop us is ourselves.

    I'm for Obama because I believe he will get more done working with both major parties (Hillary wants to fight and that is all she will be doing if elected president), but if Hillary wins fair and square I will vote for her. So stop this baby fighting - it's looking really DUMB. I like the poetry of the tired and old writer, but it's content is mean-spirited and we should be magnanimous now - Obama is the nominee.     Obama has already won the nomination. Hillary is now running for VP. We should all pull ourselves together now and can this stupid message-board animosity so we can direct our concentration on beatin McCain.

    This nomination is almost over - another month or six weeks, tops. Nobody in the DNC wants to prolong the agony, the animosity growing between our two camps, and the indecision that this projects to the rest of the country and the world.

    Hillary is not our nominee - it's already pretty much Obama - it's in the can. Get over it and let's get on with the show - the REAL show. And let's work together, not insult each other on message boards like this.

    Comment: I feel for Ms. Stanek. These are tough times for many. And she and her family seem to be caught in the thick of it. I respect her religious beliefs, and I admire her for her consistency on "pro-life" by being anti-death penalty. But she is in a tough spot. There almost never be a Pro-life/anti-death penalty candidate. Maybe if a Catholic republican ever got nominated.

    And on top of everything else, because of her strong religious beliefs its causing her to most likely vote against her economic interests. She said she wants someone honest. Good luck these days. Clinton is certainly not honest. To the point of actually living in a fantasy world. John McCain seems pretty honest. But he has flipped on so many issues that he is losing his maverick title.

    She should take a closer look at Obama. Read his books, read his website. Don't listen to the right wing pundits. Obama is one of the brightest and most "human" candidates I have ever met. He is the real deal.

If I can't vote for a woman I will vote for someone who is totally against everything I believe in because the other guy talks too good. Does he wear a read tie or a blue one, does he wear a stupid lapel pin or not, does he reflect what the common people of this land feel but are too afraid to admit, does he trust someone who has presented a social face to him over many years just like every other pastor has done (by the way, with all the catholic priests going around messing with the kids, do you think the parents even had the slightest idea what was going on?).

    Come on folks, if you are tired of being dragged over the coals with the big money people who get theirs at your expense (do you really think the Bush is going to be hurting for the rest of his existence or has he lined his pockets really nicely since he started). How about Hillary's "God bless us (the rich)", do you think she is really going to feel any of your pain from this economy or health care crisis?

    Wow, open your eyes and start using some of that sense that God gave you. Look at these candidates for what they are, not from what you think would be fashionable to talk about after the election.

      They way Hillary has acted makes me cringe. She said yesterday on her interview that she would bomb Iran if they started something. When are we going to stop thinking that war is the answer to every problem. I would like to see some enlightened thinking, like maybe getting all the countries together that surround Iran and telling them that they have a problem, not us. Maybe they can talk to them, because we sure can't.

      I think the way Billary has run their campaign it indicates to me that she is not worthy of the position and should drop out and let us get on with defeating the McSames.
