    Hillary’s Good Start

    10/3/2009 12:00:00 AM

Since 1998 hundreds of thousands of Congolese women and children have been raped, and more than 5 million people have died. One of the first victims of the violence was my best friend—-almost a sister—and her husband. Her body was found mutilated with more than 100 bullet holes; her husband had been shot not far away from her. The incident occurred while they were traveling back to Goma from Kigali, Rwanda. Shia Stars in ‘Crash 2’

    8/2/2008 12:00:00 AM

A Fight Over an Ugly Past

    Michael Isikoff

The House Committee vote to label Turkey's mass killing of Armenians during World War I as a "genocide" followed one of the most intense, and unusual, battles on Capitol Hill in recent memory. The measure passed despite a lobbying blitz from the Turkish government, which hired an army of K Street lobbyists to fight it.
