Truth serum would be great. But then what? Would we take action to make it happen? The problem is WE haven't been willing to do what it takes to make a difference. Are we a nation of finger pointers and complainers, or doers?!?! I hope doers. Our other methods have not worked (not being involved in the political process, not holding our officials accountable, being wasteful). And, I am as guilty as the next person.

I have an idea (not original). How about we, the citizens do something about the gas demand? Those of us who live close enough to work (and/or if it is practical enough close places our errands are done) we could walk or ride our bikes. Drive only if necessary! That would also help a lot of us with that lack of exercise and overweight issue this nation is dealing with! I think that's what I'll do. We could all do it this summer. Think of how much more that will save the everyday individual!

It takes a great leader to communicate the truth and engage the electorate in the path forward. Most of of leaders give in to the masses which tend to be ill informed and react with personal perception rather than facts and knowledge. Ronald Reagan, for all his good and bad points, was such a leader. He was steadfast in his vision and had a way to engage us in his approach. Today's politicians try to fool the majority, and unfortunately they can get away with it because they just don't have the knowledge nor the convictions to make the tough decisions.

It would not matter on the democratic side, because they count out states they don't want to count and then let the superdelegates pick the candidate.
