How Many Friends Is Too Many?
Not surprisingly, hand-wringing about dealing with all these online friends is the province of a generation that grew up in the physical world. People under 25 seem to have painlessly adapted to these new rules, however unwritten. "Kids have gotten over this," says Boyd. "As a teenager, you can't reject your friends at school, but you won't wind up having 5,000 friends either." Even on the no-limits MySpace, the average number is 180 or so. And that includes potatoes.

Comment: Hi Steve,
Below is the beginning of an article in Newsweek - May 26th that you wrote. You give the mistaken impression that Buzzy Linhart wrote the "You gotta have Friends" alone. This is not the case. "You gotta have Friends" was co-written by Buzzy and myself, Mark "Moogy" Klingman. All credits on all albums, sheet music and movies (including "Shrek") include my credit as equal co-writer of this song.
Could you print a correction in Newsweek that states that "Friends" was co-written by Buzzy Linhart and Mark "Moogy" Klingman? As this sentence about "Friends" is at the very top of the piece, it gives big play to the mistaken impression that Buzzy wrote the song alone. A correction written in Newsweek would go a long way toward restoring my reputation, which I feel has been greviously harmed by this mistaken assumption - that is, that Buzzy Linhart wrote "Friends" alone. He didn't.
Thanks for you attention,
Mark "Moogy" Klingman

Comment: Yes, In real life, we are spared the explicitness of a bald request to be a friend, but there's no such luck online???even ignoring someone's friend request doesn't gloss over the fact that you're rejecting him or her.
