Some women just don't know when to quit. And then there's Annika Sorenstam and Justine Henin. Both of the A-list athletes—Sorenstam (age 37) in golf, Henin (25) in tennis— announced their retirement last week, and they did it while still at the top of their games. Of course, they can afford to hang up their shoes. They've earned a combined $40 million-plus and won more than 110 tournaments. But it can't be easy to walk away from being a superstar, which makes them even bigger winners to us.
