Eric Holden helped the Clintons work out the Mark Rich pardon and, as a result, his ethics are widely viewed as questionable. Jim Johnson has received numerous large personal loans from subprime lenders on very favorable terms. When these issues were brought to Senator Obama's attention, Senator Obama didn't see any problem. Senator Obama said that, at some point vetting has to end, who's going to vet the vetters? This is a lame excuse. Senator Obama can't fully vet every employee but when he KNOWS there's an ethics problem or a potential conflict of interest, a shrug is not a good answer.

Obama seeks Hanuman???s blessing for presidential race

New York, June 9 : It???s unusual. But, it???s a fact. Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic party???s presidential nominee, is seeking the blessings of Hindu god Hanuman in his battle for the White House.

    2008 US Presidential Election

    Clinton Campaign

The 46-year-old senator from Illinois, who defeated his rival Hillary Clinton in an epic 17-month long electoral battle for Democratic party nomination, carries a ???tiny monkey god??? apparently representing ???Hanuman??? with him for good luck.

A recent photo posted on Time???s White House Photo of the Day collection shows the first ever Black-American nominee of a major US party for the Presidential elections carries with him a bracelet belonging to an American soldier deployed in Iraq, a gambler???s lucky chit, a tiny monkey god and tiny Madonna and child.

That ???tiny monkey god???, of course, appears to be a statue of the Hindu monkey god, Hanuman, says the posting but editors and the photographer has not identified it as such.

Obama, whose father was a Kenyan and mother a white woman from Kansas, spent initial days of his life in Indonesia where Hinduism is a popular religion.

In addition to a lucky penny, Republican candidate John McCain carries a lucky nickel, and a lucky rubber band, which he wears around his wrist. He also has a lucky sweater and a lucky hotel room in New Hampshire, says the caption on his photo.

Hi H, it doesn't matter. You go ahead and post an opinion.

      • Posted By: Huachuca @ 05/23/2008 1:29:17 PM

Hi Pia - I don't think any of O'mans supporters are "scared" of Hill getting it.
I would say many of them "dread" it though.

I must have missed your post. Was going to reply this A.M. but There was a lot of crashing and banging going around "upstairs" and I had to power down and unplug. No leaks though!

Dread is right in my case but if she were to get it, I'd vote for her.

I hope nothing serious happened at your home.

Got caught in a Tornado once. That was was downright TERRIFYING though.
Killed 3 people within a 1/2 mile from where I was staying at the time.
And I saw this A. M. where the south is getting it.

You don't see much of them where you live do you?

And if I read right on Teds post, you are in the medical field?

A bit late in replying H, but no, no hurricanes in NJ. Too far north up the coast. Hasn't happened in over 100 years.

      • Posted By: Huachuca @ 05/23/2008 1:48:16 PM

Pia - I screwed up your Question, honest mistake.

I don't think you guys and gals are "scared" at all.

Your party has alot of confidence, but very little "fear".

        • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 05/23/2008 2:36:20 PM

Thank you H! That sounds perfect. I'm actually not a Dem, I'm a Rep voting Dem in Nov. I voted for the president both times. I do like and respect John McCain though.

You know, you Hillary supporters make me laugh and you make me cry, lol and boo hoo... really. You see the way you come off to me is that you are so resentful that the candidate 'you' chose has lost that you are not willing to sit down and have a nice little sensible talk with yourselves. You can show yourselves how completely ridiculous you are at this time in the race. It is over. The supers will not give the nom. to Hillary. Yes, I'm sorry that Hillary didn't win it because her supporters are hurt and I mean that even though I don't support her but that's the reality. It's best to accept that and do the right thing and support the nomine fo your party.... that is if you are loyal party members.

    • Posted By: Donna1000 @ 05/22/2008 11:02:11 AM

"Loyal party member" -- back to that Communist sounding language. Scary.

Like of half of voting age Americans, I am not a member of a political party. The Dem. Party members will you get 25% of the popular vote in November, if they all show up. How many of the new 20-somethings are really going to show up at a boring polling place staffed by boring old ladies? Showing up to vote is a lot different than showing up at a rally or a caucus that feels like a concert with a rock star up on the stage.

The Dems won't win without a boatload of independents on their side. The winners in November will be the person and team who understand coalition politics.

      • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 05/22/2008 11:07:20 AM

Donna, now I'm speaking a Communist sounding language because I used the words loyal party members? You are nitpicking and your blaring resentment is showing again. You also better watch then because Hillary actually belonged to a Communist party back in her youth. Oh, perhaps you knew this already being that you seem to think you are so informed about the GE and Hillary and Obama and all the states he will lose in Nov. Get real, Obama will win and there is nothing you yourself can do to stop it. Grow up.

    • Posted By: Shadoe01 @ 05/22/2008 1:10:10 PM

They make me sick, not laugh!

      • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 05/22/2008 1:27:06 PM

Sick? How could you? The man speaks words of inspiration and that sickens you? How sad for you. You haven't a clue. You're full of resentment and bitterness.

        • Posted By: Shadoe01 @ 05/22/2008 1:37:27 PM

Yeah, Pia he speak lies. Look at the reply back to Alvy down below which is an article that is in the National Review about him. He lied in his book, he lied about Wright, Rezo, Ayers, Farrakan and who knows what else. He is no better than any of the others. This is not coming from me, this is coming from people outside this whole mess. No I am not filled with resentment or bitterness, just tired of you all speaking like he is a God and does nothing wrong (which is a load of bull)!

S, they all lie. They're human.

                You too. I'm good.
I don't think "we" said listening to him makes us physically sick.

                That would be you.

                • Posted By: Shadoe01 @ 05/22/2008 2:08:43 PM

That would be about the same as you thinking it is funny to have someone say that Hillary and her supporters need to get l _ _ _ _! Did it ever occur to you that maybe there are people out there who do not like him for whatever reason and that it is not a racial reason?

C'mon shadow. You think she sexy don't you?

i do think however, she needs to get Layed so that she wont be so angry.. or it could be Menopausal she is 60 after all ( she is having Hot Flashes)...........

Lol! Layed? I love it! Menopause at 60? That late huh? I read in a medical book by late 40's early 50's.

Since she jumped into a size 16-18, has that slowed the progression of her menopause? Can that happen?

                        • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 05/22/2008 3:25:47 PM

Oh, sorry Alvy, forgot to answer your question about menopause. I'm not 100% sure but I think hormones do play a part in weight control. With menopause, the body no longer makes enough of these hormones that able the body to burn calories. Exercise does help in controlling this added weight. These same hormones give women the soft wrinkle free skin, healthy hair, curves and tautness of the body. Without them everything ages and goes downhill. That's life.

                        • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 05/22/2008 3:19:16 PM

Yeah, what a shame, I suppose the stress from campaigning causes the weight gain. Too much take out and too much riding and flying and not enough exercise. Hillary can lose the weight when it's all over. I remember Hillary when she was dancing with Bill at their second Inaugural. She was wearing the blue glittery gown with a sort of tiara in her hair. Very pretty. I want one. A tiara.

When you stop denigrating Obama. The names that some of you have called him and the things that you have accused him of are absolutely disgusting. Nothing that has been posted about Clinton compares to what some Clinton supporters have posted. There have even been those of you who have actually posted that he should be killed. Check yourself before you even think about checking anyone else.

when we speak of him as a god is because the H.C. & Mccain supporters make him a "God"

Obama supporters never said he was a "Savoir" of anything.. he is a candidate running to be president.

We do have fun however, Mocking you guys when you type silly things like he is a "God".....

One day shadow will get it.

One day you - pretty one - will have Ruby slippers.

Shadow is posting the same thing as all the other people who really, really only want to find the negative about one person. Giant wishes to calm their fears.

There's a strange: "Please let someone find something," going on. How sad for all of us.

          • Posted By: Shadoe01 @ 05/22/2008 2:05:26 PM

Actually, I am looking for something positive in him but have yet to find anything!

            • Posted By: Alvy @ 05/22/2008 2:11:26 PM

See. There's the conflict again. You posted last week that all we see is the good in him, and don't recognize the bad. So, you must have seen the good too. If you missed it - just scroll down and read all the posts. The positives will be there. When you pass your handle, you'll see that you skipped over that part.

              • Posted By: Shadoe01 @ 05/22/2008 2:36:04 PM

No, I said all of the Obama supporters can only see good in him, I have to find a thing whereas the first time in my life (along with a lot of other Democrats) will be crossing party lines.

"THE FIRST TIME IN MY ADULT LIFE" i wish the H.C. supporters had a article to spew on.... they would be able to convince each other how they are going to vote for Mccain....

that would be nice. But since Obama is winning with no way for H.C. too , i guess she doesnt have any positive articles to go too.....

Seems that you and your tolerant clan feel that he "lost". Seems the media and the voters did not. That's "flagpin" rhetoric when you go that route shadow. Picking on a guy by making up "stammering", then calling him a "smooth-talker" is par for this delusional course dude.

Actually the media and voters both thought he did not do well and never has when he is debating. I also did not say he stammered or was a smooth talker. Personally, I think he is another Jim Jones, do you know who he was?

                      Shadow.
Jim Jones was a smooth-talker who didn't stammer.
Now you're calling him slick. Which is it? Is he a smooth-talker or not.
Stop being annoying. I care little about your prejudices because you stand on the periphery and lob personal dislike without facts. It's annoying when you say: Well the media didn't like him either - then lob over a "Hills is being treated unfair." Do you get it?

So either be a chronic bigot, so I can call you names in earnest, or make sense so we can talk.
"Obama is a this...and that..." is just annoying.

Jim Jones was a Pied Piper who lead people down a wrong path because they could not think for themselves. The followed and agreed with everything he said and did. This is the same problem with the Obama supporters. All he talks about is change but has no specifics at all, he can't even tell you what he is going to do. Therefore you are following a Jim Jones.

we could say the same about H.C. supporters...

& besides if i recall correctly all J. Jones followers died at the end cult followers of course.. so i guess one could interpret that he did make a change in thier Lives.....

The women & the Old that are following H.C. could be a cult for "women" who all have Bad marriages & suffered from abuse... Follow me I'm your leader. i'll show you how to deal with a cheating spouse ...

anybody running for president has to have some aggrogance..

H.C. is still in a dead race ( because of ego). a.k.a. arrogance.. the 2 for 1 deal was arrogant.
H.C. thought she had this nomination wraped up because of "Name Sake" arrogant..

My point is that to run for president one needs some arrogance about themself ( not just anybody could run).

        • Posted By: Alvy @ 05/22/2008 1:14:24 PM

Let's go over the rainbow. I shall endeavor to find a classic pair of Ruby slippers. I think perhaps Armani makes a tasteful pair. Don't want too much heel though; but flats make it hard to click your heels romantically.

          • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 05/22/2008 1:32:13 PM

I do love Armani. Why not too much heels? I love them high.

            • Posted By: Alvy @ 05/22/2008 1:52:09 PM

Armani is my personal favorite. But, then again I'm elitist.
Too much heel - or over three inches - takes away from the illusion. If you have on five-inch heels you can't dance because you "feel" the shoes - unless you are a professional ballroom dancer living in that type of shoe. Don't get me wrong; men want to see the high heels and the accompanying calf muscle, but it would not serve you with comfort.

But, then again we have to take into account the gown.

              • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 05/22/2008 1:59:04 PM

I forgot, what type of gown, Alvy? I would love a Valentino, in a deep ruby red shade, with a heart shaped bodice( best color for scorpios with dark brown hair) very feminine.

                • Posted By: Alvy @ 05/22/2008 2:26:27 PM

Ruby can also go off-shade. The Ruby and burgundies can work, but you can also go crazy with a darkest blue with the right accessories. For Springtime a Ruby and yellow would be fitting, but abstract.

Any Other Reporters Out There Looking to Be Hired By Obama? Just Linda Douglass?

I don't begrudge Linda Douglass of National Journal her new job as "senior strategist and as a senior campaign spokesperson" with the Obama campaign. But an opportunity and an offer like this don't happen overnight. And so it's pretty likely that Douglas has been in at least casual talks with Team Obama about this for a while she was working for National Journal, covering the campaign. Even though I'm a skeptic on the concept of perfect objectivity in journalists ??? everybody has opinions about the people they cover ??? it strikes me as pretty tough for journalists to cover someone who they just had a job interview with, and who may hire them in the near future.

Douglas hosts a radio show on XM radio's all-politics channel, POTUS '08, on Fridays ??? er, I presume those duties will he handed to someone else. Her April 25 interview with Obama campaign manager David Plouffe seems sufficiently tough, but one has to wonder - had either side begun thinking about working together by then? Did the talks begin or pick up new steam as a result of that interview? (She says the offer came late last week.)

It doesn't help when she says upon being hired, "I've seen something I believe in," and "I saw that this could be a history-making presidency."

Because these sorts of hiring processes are done in secret for obvious reasons, we don't know if this is the only member of the media who interviewed for a position with Obama, and whether anyone else is interviewing with his campaign, or other campaigns. (Thinking out loud ??? could Team Hillary afford any new staff additions at this point?)

Next time a critic complains, "those reporters are writing like they want a job with the candidate"... it may not be hyperbole.

I would love a woman, who could take over in eight years. I would love John Edwards, but who I think he can be better used as Attorney General. Although I must say that I think Obama will create a real partnership with his VP...and I just think that may work better with a female. Anybody but Hillary Clinton, because I don't believe for a moment that she would be loyal to Obama's adminstration. I think she would do the wink-wink for all her time there and would always be planning for her next run. Anyhew, we need new female blood in that arena. Someone that reflects change and really smart change. Governor of Kansas, is a great consideration, she won a traditionally Republican state. Let's see women choose MccCain over Obama and his female vp positioned to run for President in 8 years. I say Biden might be under consideration for Sec. of State, but also Dashscle and Richardson. I would think it needs to be a woman. Unless he can get a really powerful guy who can help win without some of Hillary's psuedo Democratic women. I would love to vote for a woman for President in 2016.

He said that his words were taken out of context, When asked about this matter McCain immediately brought up Rev. Wright, trying to justify his decision.

I am waiting to see if they go after McCain the way that they went after Obama. Some how I doubt it.

No, I have not heard nor read about Pastor Hagee and the Jews. He sounds nutty! As does Pastor Parsley. Now you know if these two jokers had been anywhere near Obama the*&$ would have hit the fan by now!

Definitely, the Rev. Wright clips were played over and over again for months. I first heard this on MSNBC last night so let's see how it plays out. Another reason to respect Obama, when the whole Rev. Wright issue came to light, Obama did not try to compare it to something someone else did which I call Punking out. This is exactly what McCain did, stating that Rev. Hagee is not my spiritial advisor I did not sit in his church for 20 years etc. Punk B!tch! When I am really pissed this has always been my favorit term, because it just fits every scenario LOL!!

The Rev. Wright clips were played over and over mostly by Sean Hannity on Fox. The man is obsessed. I stopped watching Fox entirely after that.
I wasn't surprised at Obama for not attacking McCain on Hagee or even the other, Parsley. Obama doesn't believe in two wrongs making one right.

Hillary won about 17 million votes ,close to half the total cast in this primary. If that does not make Obama offer VP position to Hillary I don't know what would.Just picking anothe female for VP is not even pandering,it is insulting to Hillary's supporters.

    • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 05/22/2008 5:37:12 PM

I believe that Obama is sensible enough to realize that picking Clinton would be extremely detrimental to his campaign. As the only people who would be happy with this decision are HER supporters. There is absolutely no way that Obama could ever TRUST the Clintons.

I am praying that he does not even consider this option

      • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 05/23/2008 12:45:52 AM

He needs HER supporters to win the election. If he picks someone else that is seen as a slap in the face to Clinton, you can believe that a lot of her supporters will vote McCain or Nader. Either way Obama loses.

Just read this in the local paper - thought I would share :
    Dear Abby,
I am a 60 tear old woman who is married to a man who acts like he hates me.In public, he pretends he loves me and talks how wonderful I am.But, in private he shakes his finger in my face and calls me the B word. He constantly tells me how ugly I am without make-up. I've tried everything, including a face lift, botox treatments, and a chin tuck.I even went on a diet and lost 20 pounds.

He quit his job a few years ago after having an affair with a woman in his office. He hasn't even looked for another job. We haven't slept together since I confronted him about the affair. He denied it, of course, but everybody knew it. It was humiliating. I believe he is still messing around.

While we both want to sell this house, we argue constantly about when to put it on the market. The house we want will be available in a few months.

My husband wants to put our house on the market now. I think we should wait a while. He has already started collecting boxes and packing up his stuff. Do you think he is planning to leave me?

    Signed,
    Worried in NY

    Abbys answer :
    Dear Worried in NY,
I doubt it. He wants to move back into the White House as much as you do.

Sen. Obama is looking for a VP but he doesn't have the nomination.

Let's assume that both Senators Clinton and Obama can hold every state that John Kerry won. That gives each of them 252 EC votes to start with and 18 more to get.

The Quinnipiac poll today shows that Sen. Clinton would win both Ohio (20 EC votes) and Florida (27 EC votes) over Sen. McCain while Sen. Obama would lose those states. That makes Sen. Clinton pretty much a slam dunk to win in the general election as of today.

Sen. Obama on the other hand would have to patch together 18 EC votes from Nevada (5), Colorado (9), New Mexico (5), Iowa (7), and Virginia (13). He thinks he can put Georgia in play but I don't think so, not even with former Sen. Sam Nunn on the ticket.

I think he has a good shot at taking Iowa. That's 7 of the 18.

I don't know about Virginia. Bush took the state by an 8% margin in 2004. Can the black vote and a Virginian on the ticket do it for him there? Maybe. It's the biggest possible prize for him at 13 EC votes. The downside here is that the possible running mates are young and would compete with Michelle for the nomination eight years out. Don't tell me she isn't thinking about that already.

If he gets Iowa and Virginia, he would be across the finish line. If he doesn't get Virginia, he needs two of the three remaining swing states: New Mexico, Nevada, and Colorado.

Bill Richardson couldn't deliver New Mexico for John Kerry. Could he do it for Obama?

I don't know about Nevada, which Bush won by a 3% margin and Colorado, which Bush won by a 5% margin.

What I do know is that Sen. Obama would have to fight a multi-front war while Sen. Clinton would not. Ask any general what their preference would be.

Sen. Obama could also try to take Ohio by offering the VP job to Gov. Strickland. But Sen. Clinton can do the same thing and Gov. Strickland campaigned for her. He brings the same downside to both candidates. If Sen. Clinton does not name a black running mate, she risks alienating blacks. If Sen. Obama does not name a female running mate, he risks alienating women.

These two need each other on a joint ticket. Hate and love are a continuum of the same emotion so maybe they will figure it out. Former Pres. Clinton apparently already has. Michelle Obama might not come around but I hope she thinks about it. She's young; she can wait 16 years to be President.

That's how it stands today. If I were a superdelegate, I would either take the surer bet today, Sen. Clinton, or wait to see how it stands at the end of the August.

    • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 05/22/2008 3:52:41 PM

Of Course fmr. President Clinton wants Hillary as Barack's VP. But it would not be in Obama's best interest to offer it to her. This would also cause serious problems with his supporters. Obama needs to chose some one he can trust as his VP and that is not the Clintons! She has been trying her best to turn millions of voters in Michigan and Florida against Obama by spouting the nonsense that it is Obama's fault that their votes are not being counted.

How can you expect him to trust someone who clearly knows that there is no fair way that she can win the nomination so she has decided to do all that she can to sabotage his campaign. So you will vote for him only if he offers her the VP spot. That has a name, oh right BLACKMAIL.

Not gonna Happen!! He has entirely too much class and common sense!!!

      • Posted By: Donna1000 @ 05/22/2008 7:16:20 PM

Obama can just tell his supporters that is change that are going to have believe in. The glazed look will wash back across their eyes and there will be peace in the land of the Democrats.

    • Posted By: glimps @ 05/22/2008 3:47:38 PM

      LOL !!!

H.C. could do the same thing but is not the front runner / lacks delegates & is losing the Nomination.

the Super D's are being polite by allowing her to finish so that she can appear to her supporters that she wasent pushed out...

it's done !! however, if this goes to the convention i bet she still looses. the game of psychology.

she wants her supporters to think that she has the power to change the math if she takes this to the convention.. i would put money on it that she still comes out a Democratic loser/ however, that might cost the Democrats to loose to Mccain this Fall.

I like Mitt. He solves McCain's conservative problem, he had business credm and he did universal health insurance in Massachusetts. They would be a good duo.

My guess is that Obama tries to find someone who help fill holes in his base but will be too old to compete with Michelle for the nomination eight years from now. And looses the general to McCain/Romney.

      Ladies and Gentlemen:

The future, the destiny of this great nation relies in the hands of only one person, a person who is a fighter, a leader like none before, a President that will not only fight for the American people but will finally change the way this government is run. A change for the betterment of each American, the economy, healthcare, the war in Iraq, terrorism, foreign policy, the oil crisis, a global leader that is recognized and respected worldwide: we, the American people have the great pleasure of introducing to you, the next President of these United States, your President, Hillary Clinton!
      The American people have spoken!

      • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 05/22/2008 4:27:01 PM

You tend to speak for quite a few people. All of the Crowe Nation and other Native Americans, The entire Military and the entire population of the United States.

My goodness you are amazing, why aren't you running for President of the United States?

      Donna1000,
I know Obama is winning the hearts and minds...when I see a comment like yours. It pure hyperbole for the sake of saying something ...anything... By the way Mitt didn't do universal health insurance in MASS. Health advocates and legislators did it, Mitt signed it because he was forced to sign it. McCain's ego is too big to accept the idea that he needs Romney to win. I suspect he will try a find a female that he hopes will help him take some of Hillary's unhappy women up on their promise to vote for him. No Presidential candidate except Bush, wants a vp who appears more competent than him in the campaign... You don't like Michelle Obama? good, we would be a little suspicious if you had the good sense to recognize a smart woman when you saw her!

DUDE, this guy is in the gate...but he's hobbled himself with his associations with Ayers, Wright, Kerry, Kennedy, and most of all the angry black woman, Michelle...Somhow, it extremely hard to picture her as a positive force for the USA...talk about angry black women...she should be the poster child....Obama has don enough damage to himself...that it laughable and clear the he has no business being in the race with thoroughbreds....His latest statement was hysterical...he's proposing that Americans be shamed by the world for enjoying the luxuries that WE pay for!!!! What's he gonna do have food police???? And taking names of people who use more gasoline than he THINKS we should???? I'll continue to eat whatever the HELL I want and in whatever amounts I PAY FOR!!!! I'll keep my thermostat on 68 degrees.....This guy obviously is buying into the black community calling him their messiah...I call it insanity!!!! The more he talks, the worse things get....THIS dude will not even come in thired as a show......no payoff.....Kenya has plenty of space for people who love heat and hunger...the Obamas should find a little village....he could be the village IDIOT>>>>

I???m 35, and have been following politics for quite a while, and I???ve never been so disappointed with a politician I???ve admired and respected. Yesterday???s tactics weren???t just wrong, they were offensive. For that matter, they seem to be part of a deliberate strategy to tear Democrats apart and ensure a defeat in November.

For several weeks, I???ve appreciated the fact that Clinton considers herself the superior candidate, and has kept her campaign going in the hopes, from her perspective, of saving the party from itself. But after yesterday, it???s become impossible for me to consider Clinton???s intentions honorable. Her conduct is not that of a leader.

Instead of trying to help bring the party together ??? Election Day is 24 weeks away ??? Clinton went to Florida to argue that if Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee, his nomination will be illegitimate. And if the DNC plays by the rules Clinton used to support, it???s guilty of vote-suppression ??? comparable to slavery, Jim Crow, and Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe.

"I won't show Sen. Clinton any disrespect by declaring victory [because I have not secured the nomination and the Q poll says that I can't win Ohio or Florida] but I will start a top-secret search for a VP [that will be leaked to all MSM outlets immediately]."

-- Barack Obama (from the left and right sides of his mouth)

      Hey guys,

another H.C. supporter on a Obama article about to tell us she will go to Mccain in Nov.

      • Posted By: Alvy @ 05/22/2008 3:23:12 PM

Obama talks out both sides of his mouth and Hills only uses one - but twice as much.
Last I checked they were both politicians.

Ditto. Alvy, scroll down below and read my sonnet. I'm the author but William S would have been proud. Let me know what you think of my writing skills.

          LOL !!!

the game of psychology H.C. has played with her supporters..

stick with me ladies " this is closer then reported".. sexism is holding me back ; not the "MAN"... the irony those blue collar working men are voting for her too......

talk about double talk ( talking out the side of mouth)........

    • Posted By: Alvy @ 05/22/2008 3:21:30 PM

Absolutely. He should wait until it's all done and take two days to decide.
And we know that the most fleeting secret is the political one. What was he thinking?
All those invitations to Mc house this weekend too? I wonder if his running mate is going to be there.

  • Posted By: Donna1000 @ 05/22/2008 10:17:48 AM

But will the Dems REALLY nominate a guy who can't take Ohio or Florida? That didn't work out so well with John Kerry. Today's swing state polls:

Home> Institutes and Centers> Quinnipiac University Polling Institute> Presidential Swing States (FL, OH & PA)> Release Detail

May 22, 2008 - McCain Leads Obama In Two Of Three Key Swing States, Quinnipiac University Swing State Poll Finds; Clinton Has Big Leads In Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania --- FLORIDA: Clinton 48 - McCain 41; McCain 45 - Obama 41; OHIO: Clinton 48 - McCain 41; McCain 44 - Obama 40: PENNSYLVANIA: Clinton 50 - McCain 37; Obama 46 - McCain 40

    • Posted By: Rocky2001 @ 05/22/2008 10:25:50 AM

I guess their counting on Colorado and Iowa...they will need to throw in Oregon and NC or NH too. Not looking good.

      • Posted By: Donna1000 @ 05/22/2008 10:38:38 AM

Let's assume they would both keep all of the states that Sen. Kerry won. Then you only need to Florida OR Ohio. Sen. Clinton can do that. Sen. Obama cannot. Sen. Obama has to win a lot of swing states to add up to one Ohio or Florida. Much tougher row to hoe. Sen. Clinton seems like the obvious choice to me.

Sen. Obama is even more effete than John Kerry is. While he has many fine characteristics, and some good would come out of his Presidency, I don't think he can close the deal in enough states to win.

As the economy continues to tank, I also think his inexperience and lack of empathy for people who are struggling economically will be become bigger negatives. There are a lot of Democratics who literally cannot afford to elect Barack Obama. If you're upper middle class and intellectually progressive, he's very attractive. The $28 you save from a gas tax holiday might buy you one bottle of wine. However, if you're struggling to feed the kids that $28 you save from a gas tax holiday is money that will buy seven more packages of hot dogs this summer. Sen. Clinton understands that. Sen. Obama does not.

          Donna1000,

Obama supporters have tremendous faith that if Democrats in those states get to spend some time with Senator Obama...McCain is in deep manure. Nobody said people couldn't use the money, we said it was used to hype people.

75,000 folks showed up for Obama in Oregon and the media and others were touting them as everything OTHER than working class folks...

But once you take a look at the demographic data for Kentucky and Oregon...you will see these folks are more alike than different with only one really big difference. Those in Kentucky said they won't vote for a black man.... so Obama can get working class white folks to vote for him just not those who don't like black people. And there's not much you can do for folks, who would rather kill their chances for a better life than to vote for somebody of color...Like Hillary...it is their's to lose. I guess when there isn't food on the table to eat, folks can just prop a picture of John McCain on the table and that will ease the hunger pains or pay the mortgage. Cause he will have just sent millions of dollars to Iraq to fight the war. When will people learn you always vote your economic interests in an election....???? This election is going to allow a whole lot of people to get smarter quicker...

          Kentucky
          ??? percentage of African-American residents: 7.3 %
??? median household income: just shy of $34,000.
??? households in the state with annual incomes in excess of $100,000: 7%
??? percentage of homes in Kentucky valued at > $200,000: 8%
          Oregon
          ??? percentage of African-American residents: 2.0 %
??? median household income: just shy of $41,000.
??? households in the state with annual incomes in excess of $100,000: 10%
??? percentage of homes in Kentucky valued at > $200,000: 26%

$28 dollars only if you own a compact car and travel around 50 miles a week...Those details were not reported. For a consumer with a suv or truck that travels over a 100 miles a week the savings would be in the 100's over a 3 month period.

          • Posted By: glimps @ 05/22/2008 12:50:16 PM

a person might save that $ 100. & end up spending on Utilities within the 3 month period.
& dont forget that was a failed policy in ILL. why would we try it Nationally?.

    • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 05/22/2008 10:21:49 AM

Polls, polls, polls. Who cares at this time? Bill Clinton was behind in the polls in 1992, he won. Pres.Bush was too in 2000, he won. There you go.
