What If RFK Had Become President?

The people who assassinated RFK were the same ones who assassinated his brother: Johnson and his cronies in the CIA, FBI, Secret Service, etc. They got Bobby in the pantry of the hotel which was a congested area where it was unlikely that the photagraphers would have their cameras working. When Sirhan started firing this created a diversion at which point someone else fired a few shots from point blank range.

It is truly sad what has happened to our country in the last 40 years. It may take another 40 years before the current level of ignorance and hatred subsides. I do hope our nation and liberty can survive. What would've happened in Vietnam had Kennedy lived? We may never know the answer to that, but what we can be certain of is that Kennedy would've left a legacy that would've elevated public education and public discourse. 28 years of darkness has made this country a dangerous place to grow up. The division that made 1968 the most violent year since those of the Civil War has grown worse. We're more fractured and distrustful than at any point in our history and yet you would almost never see evidence of this if it were left to corprate media alone.Thank God that although great leaders may be taken from us, generations can still be inspired by people like RFK to listen to the better angels of our nature. For all those who have felt a great urgency to express vitriolic language at your felow countrymen and women in responce to this article, I would ask that you someday make a trip to Bobby Kennedy's grave in Arlington National cemetary. You will notice his marker is not an eternal flame but rather a simple wooden cross on the side of a small hill. That is how he wished to be remembered. After that you might be encouraged to take some time to seriously research his contribution to our country during the in the days of the Cuban Missle Crisis. It is my opinion, as well as millions of others who have an interest in the the history of liberty...that his clarity of purpose, in concert with his brother and a few other brave women and men, quite literally saved these United States and this fragile planet. If Bobby Kennedy had not been murdered in Los Angeles 40 years ago...we might all be closer. Because he did live many of us always will be connected t one another and dedicated to reaching for a brighter tomorrow. With a tiny ripple of hope We, as a people will get to the promised land. to your point,, it's OK to pay 2 trillion dollars (est cost) for a wr but not OK to help underprivileged children, or those of US who dont have the means,,, btw I am not someone who ever needed anything from anyone else, and for that I am very lucky,. My point is we need to take care of our own backayrd before we go into someone elses. Our taxes should go to education, healthcare, infrastructure & keeping our country safe. HungLo is correct in his statement. Obama is an empty suit who reads what they stick in front of him. Ummm I believe thats why he will bomb horribly if he does town hall style debates. Back to the real question, if RFK would have been elected, they would have killed him anyway. Um thats the Government you all seem to think is so great. I think we need to run all of them out. RFK had some lofty goals and ideas, however, I don't agree with him in the respect that it is the government's duty to provide the people with everything they want. It is the government's duty to provide the OPPORTUNITY! One comment posted showed the writer was dissatisfied that the government had not done enough to teach children about helping out at homeless shelters. That is not the government's responsibility. It is the parent's job, the community in which you live, your church, NOT the government's job. This is what concerns me about Obama. I like his optimism, but he thinks government can save everyone. This is a dangerous concept. Look at the Soviet Union and communism. It is a slippery slope. At best, local governments and communities are more effective in helping individuals because they are closer to the exact needs of people. Those officials and community members can work closely together to see needs are met without "saving" people, but instead, providing opportunities to help themselves. In my opinion, a good federal government makes is possible for local governments to be effective and gives individuals opportunities to succeed. Our country is too big and its needs too diverse to have a "one size fits all" approach.

Anyone who votes republican in this race has not been paying attention to whats transpired over the past 7 years/ But it will be OK, Obama will win in a landslide.

Also those who lambasted Hilliary because of the Bobby Kennedy comment are foolish. This was a ploy by the press and the Obama lovers out there to smear her, something they did with great success for 6 months. Don't be ashamed of her for stating historical fact (RFK was in fact killed in June). If you're going to be ashamed of something be ashamed of the history not the person stating the history!!!!

What do you mean Obama wasn't privileged? He is probably one of the most priviledged people in the world. Unprivileged would be a beaner picking lettuce. But Obama? I wasn't going to comment cause I could care-less but when people us Christianity to spread what they believe and twist their ideas to fit somehow fit Christianity it REALLY ticks me off. Theologically speaking there's now way in the world that Obama can be the anti-christ because the anti-Christ will not come from the U.S. he's set to come from Europe. An scripture also states there will be many anti-christ's before the true anti-christ makes himself known. Meaning a whole stage/movement is begun to set the stage for him. All things powers, kingdoms, nations are given unto him....It's in scripture. My suggestion is to take some escatology classes or find a good Bible-believing church that teaches true theology and doesn't fill your head up with imaginative or "this is what I (notice I) think will happen..." People like that aren't worth listening to...Better yet go to Ihop.org and check out their End-Times Theology. That will surely give you some REAL insight. As for Barack Obama...I'm going to his rally tonight America needs change and needs someone who is really willing to help America out.
