There is really only one resolution to the current mess: Unity ticket!

Let's be clear that there have been plenty of slights (real and/or media-driven) on BOTH sides. But seriously folks, this was/is a political campaign, not the freakin'Mickey Mouse Club! And now it's time for Hillary and Barack to kiss and make up. In most primary election scenarios, pairing these two talented, historic candidates would be a no-brainer. It should be here as well. Please don't tell me that Bill is the problem. Or that the Clintons will somehow engineer President Obama's demise. Or that she is too evil for the pure (!) Obama, and will undermine his message. What sheer and utter nonsense!

Hillary has won at least half of the votes cast in 2008 and almost half of the delegates. To heal rifts in the party, she MUST be offered VP; it should be up to her to decide whether or not to accept. PERIOD!

Campaign advisers, Dr. Dean, Senator Reid, and Speaker Pelosi: GET ON THE STICK AND MAKE THIS HAPPEN, SO WE CAN GET ON WITH IT AND WIN BIG IN NOVEMBER!

Let's be really and truly clear, there have ONLY been "slights" from one side to which Obama responded, show me one, jus one unprevoked "slight" on Obama's behalf, you can't. Hilary Jumped on Every Peice of KARL ROVE political trashing she could, what needs to happen is you Hillary followers need to SEE HER FOR WHAT SHE IS...a completely desperate loser, who's only concern is not the nation, or FL/MI, or voter voices (she does not want to count the popular vote from caucus states). She just wants to win at any cost, sounds a lot like BUSH/McCain does'nt it?
Let Obama chose his own Vp, he has daon well so far, I trust his judgement, Let it be.

    I second that...

    Clinton is tragic.

Hill have been campaigning in the last primaries since OH with a crab
mentality. As it becomes quite clear that Barack have built pledge delegate
count that she couldn't overcome, she resorted to dragging him down like how
crabs drag leading crab from escaping from an open container. Unfortunately for
her, despite her tenacious effort, Barack was almost at the top of the open
container into freedom and she was so far behind to grab his long leg. Her
tragic effort would not yield any positive result to the Clinton legacy and may
even lead a lot of bitter taste. When that happens, expect the blame game to
start and knives will be sharpened for next round of internal struggle and the
Clintons will try to settle lots of score.

The funny thing is that people are actually buying Hillary's nutcracker. Whenever, I read about that, I laugh at least once. lol But what do Clinton supports expect the DNC to do about that. A business can do what they like in this instance: and unfortunately the item is selling.

It's about context. Gore didn't claim sexism or racism. In his case, it was outright fraud. In Hillary's case, she loses in all scenarios, even if you count the bogus FL and MI primaries. The two aren't comparable.

      • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 05/30/2008 5:47:52 PM

It was not fraud. That is what the DNC attempted. Didn't work.

        • Posted By: Johnsonium @ 05/30/2008 5:57:01 PM

It was about fraud. See the voters purged unfairly from the voter roles. This is all been proven long ago.

The world is watching Clinton's wish to cheat this election. She is making the entire country look like a fraud.

  • Posted By: All4America @ 05/30/2008 5:54:47 PM

Eleanor, there is no question that Hillary has been unfairly bashed and trashed by a significant segment of the MSM. For a small sampling of attack dogs against her I could cite: Jack Cafferty of CNN, Keith Olberman and Chris Mathews of MSNBC. Those three are ferocious, unmerciful pit-bulls. Another politically mean dog is Tim Russert. By contrast all these four kneel at the altar of Obama singing hosannas while, at the same time, they ignore their idol???s numerous and fatal flaws.

Newsweek joined in the feeding frenzy against Hillary with its crew of so-called ???reporters.??? It is truly disappointing and frightening that, instead of informing the public, the MSM interfered with this primary election by anointing Obama and demonizing Hillary.

The MSM has accomplished what seemed unattainable. During this election cycle, MSNBC, CNN, Time and Newsweek have made FOX News Channel look ???fair and balanced.???

Fortunately, among American voters, there are tens of millions of us who will always put Country first and Political Party (a distant) second. While we would vote for either Hillary (the American Fighter) or McCain (the American Hero), we would never vote for Obama (the Stealth Candidate).

Those of us who are not so easily manipulated - by pseudo-reporters promoting a deceitful smooth-talker - and love our country, won???t let the MSM shove an untested, unqualified, untrustworthy and unknown (who is he?) candidate down our throats. If Obama is the Democratic nominee, we???ll make sure McCain is our next President. We won???t be duped!

She deserves at least a little bashing because she wants to cheat this election, and because she made those comments about wanting to assassinate Obama. Surely she did not think that Obama supports would over look that, but maybe she is that naive. And she never apologized about her comments.

  • Posted By: TruthForward @ 05/30/2008 5:44:43 PM

And Clinton never apologizes to Obama.

  • Posted By: TruthForward @ 05/30/2008 5:42:51 PM

She is the sore -est looser we will see in the next 50 years. And Clinton's nasty comments just make it hard for Obama supporters to be nice about her. And the comment about wanting him assassinated in June, and her trying to cheat the election rules... is just setting people to hate her. Will she recover a political career after this, I don't think so. She will only be able to sell books.

And Clinton is trying to galvanized women by making so many hate her (and pretending to be a victim). With the wrongs she tries to throw at Obama she will surely make people angry. Who wants a president who tries to be a victim intentionally, no one.

  • Posted By: wyl5326 @ 05/30/2008 5:37:49 PM

With her inevitable defeat, Hill has been displaying her brand of coolness by retiring to the stupor of the bottle. Shame on feminists who'll go to Washington to rally to her personal cause that means little to the advancement of feminism, except if they adopted her personal ambition as their common goal. I was glad that her 3:00AM ad didn't came out sooner and fooled a lot more voters with her true ugly character now coming out in the open. If her latest drinking spree is any early indication, she might become the Britney of the politicians. With that, it might take a Chelsea to straighten her out, because Bill can't handle her. If she is really that smart and intelligent, she won't let her behavior sully her character. However, she is no smart lady, but a plain pandering ambitious politician who can only think of pandering as a means in getting their votes !

Eleanor is correct. Clinton uses any argument when ever it fits her need.. When she felt she needed to project a manly image she had a shot and a beer with the boys. She presentd herself as Rocky. She made statements like taking her daughter to Bosina and dodging sniper bullets because it was too dangerious for the President. to be there. Can you image any real femminst putting her child in harms way of sniper bullets while her man was "chillin " in the White House? Can you image any woman could utter the words Obliterate when it would mean killig inocent woman and children. How can you say "if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen" one minute and whine about how the boys are treating you the next.? How can rally the support of older under educated women and imply that women who are educated or younger are somehow elitist because they don't support you?

The truth is you are losing this contest because Obama ran a more succesful and smart campaign. You blew 100million dollars and had to loan yourself 11.5 million and even worse you still owe your incomptent campaign manager Mark Price (a man ) 5million. You lost this contest because just like Bush you refuse to accept responsibility for your own actions. You want us to believe you lost because you are a girl and we need to change the rules so you can win.

Comment to toughluck: In my southern city, there are a lot of old white political whores(male/female) who suffer from liberal white guilt. And they regularly support the weakest Democratic candidate in the race. They are (once again) voting for Obama because he is black, not because he is qualified. So I agree with you, race is a poor reason to support a candidate.

    • Posted By: tired and old @ 05/30/2008 4:53:38 PM

GENDER IS A BAD REASON TO SUPPORT AND VOTE FOR A LYING WITCH.

    • Posted By: Johnsonium @ 05/30/2008 2:29:40 PM

I've yet to talk to anyone who is supporting Obama because he is black. Instead, they like him because he has great leadership presence and speaks honestly about topics that others wouldn't touch. Hillary's every word seems to be calculated for maximum political effect, even if it's counter to her own beliefs. I'd like Hillary supporters to explain to me how their candidate could possibly support the Kyle-Liebermann amendment, an anti-flag burning amdendment to the Constitution, not to mention the authorization of force in Iraq. Personality issues aside, Clinton is wrong on many issues.

  • Posted By: flaxponder @ 05/30/2008 4:51:00 PM

I agree with you. I am a woman who started as a Clinton supporter but was turned off by her Rovian style campaign. I agree that Hillary became the feminist campaigner when it became the last card she had to play. It is a divisive move that has damaged the party. Many comments from Hillary supporters reflect the desire to see a woman president. I believe that the first woman president must be one who transcends gender. The first woman president must not be one who has felt the pain of sexism, nor one who will play on the emotions of those who have been subject to it.

  • Posted By: griffin1 @ 05/30/2008 4:48:47 PM

Obama get your team, a dream team of our races, and experience go campaign hard and get to know the people. You will be the next President of the United States. We Americans need change and I am excited to have new leadership. Although we understand you are not perfect and there will be many obstacles, we believe you will stand tall and face those obstacles and help with the American people turn this country around. Sometimes I wonder why there are not many more republicans who come out and support you. This Country is facing some hard times under the Bush leadership, why don't they believe in your message and the message they will send to all the racist people in this world that we can all stand together no matter the race, religion, or age. We can stand together and demand a change in our country and the leaders in this nation. OBAMA we welcome you as the next President of the United States of America.

  • Posted By: sfb123 @ 05/30/2008 2:08:14 PM

I am really surprised that you just don't get it. The rally tomorrow is to protest the DNC's position on Florida and Michigan. Punish the party leaders, not the people who came out to vote. Millions of people have been disenfranchised --- this is not America!!!

The gender discrimination by the media toward Senator Clinton has been overt and obnoxious. As a 61 year woman who has seen discrimination my entire career in the workplace, this campaign has floored me as to how little progress has been made in the past thirty years. The discrimination has been blatent from everyone from Senator Obama himself to the New York Times (which disappoints me greatly!!). I truly believe that if the campaign were this close and Barack Obama was behind, not one person in either the DNC, Democratic Party leadership or the media would have been screaming for him to exit the campaign gracefully. The fight would go all the way to the convention floor and all voters in Florida and Michigan would be counted.

Quite frankly, this campaign has totally alienated me from the Democratic Party. They have clearly ignored the fact that Senator Clinton is absolutely the most qualified candidate to become President and if, as everyone is so vocal about making obvious, she will not be given the nomination, I will be either vote for her as a write-in or vote for John McCain.

    • Posted By: biggfela @ 05/30/2008 2:14:46 PM

Why? What did Obama do why you wouldn't vote for him?

      • Posted By: sfb123 @ 05/30/2008 2:21:21 PM

He is far from qualified. He has been a U.S. Senator for a mere two years, of which he's been running for President for eighteen months. He has zero foreign relations experience, claims to be the person who can change Washington but if you read his background, he is a politician of the very ordinary kind, right down to taking contributions from the lobbyists and big corporations he seems to be against.

I am a business owner and if I were looking for a CEO, he would not even be considered with the lack of experience he has. All I see is a brilliant orator and politician whose only goal in life really seems to be President.

Obama has only been a Senator since 2006? I thought he voted against the war in 2003? My motto for the day is truly going to be "Igorance is Bliss". What foreign relations experience does Clinton have? What positive foreign relations experience does McCain have? I have read his background and I would definitely not call Obama ordinary.

I do agree with you on the CEO part. But this country isn't a business. Obama admits he is an outsider. Most people voting for him needs/wants a change. Let's at least give him 4 years, and then incumbent or not we can vote him out of office. That does beat the alternative of 4 more yearws of McBush.

        • Posted By: Johnsonium @ 05/30/2008 2:36:03 PM

Hillary is a young senator with no foreign relations experience. Attending funerals of foreign dignitaries doesn't count. If it did, we might be electing Laura Bush.

Please don't lie. It's unbecoming. Obama has taken no contributions from PACs. Zero. None.

Correct - and the Protest leaders said that they will support Obama if he wins
Im glad Obama asked the counter protest to stop - they should be protesting together

The media has been sexist, but I dont think Obama has
What I dont understand is how Obama got this far - and its not because he is black
he has had support from the democratic stablisment the whole way - Why?
Why did they not support Clinton?
Racism and Sexism cant explain that

And why has the media chosen to do stories on his childhood instead of stories on his lack of
      experience?
I support him now because he is the nominee - fair and square
      But these questions still remain

      • Posted By: Canada's Watching @ 05/30/2008 2:47:41 PM

I believe Clinton represents the past, "Old Washington as it has been called. She is obviously a very intelligent woman, with more energy and stamina than I have ever had or ever hope to have.

But.... she is a very polarizing figure - you either love her or hate her - there doesn't seem to be anything inbetween. She also has a ton of baggage, most of it public, and some still in the works (Paul vs Clinton).
She voted for the Iraq war and only changed her position when it became politically expedient to do so. She has morphed into so many different people the last six months, it makes you want to ask "Would the real Hillary Clinton plase stand up?"

Obama, on the other hand has presented a new vision for America. He is charasmatic and appears calm, cool and collected. He has refused to pander to the voters like McCain and Clinton (gas tax) and actually talks to voters as adults, preferring the hard truths about where America is now. he has run a brilliant campaign, so we know he can manage a very large operation.

There was an interesting commentary in our major newspaper here in Toronto, (Toronto Star - Richard Gwynn) today. In it, Gwynn compares the three candidates on theior foreign policy positions. He mentions that Henry Kissinger is in favor of direct diplomacy with enemies. He finishes by saying that experience can be attained, but being a visionary cannot

      • Posted By: Johnsonium @ 05/30/2008 2:34:30 PM

The establishment wasn't pro-Obama. Clinton is the establishment candidate. She had all the advantages and blew it. Your premise is wrong at the core.

I believe that Democrats (including myself) are supporting Obama because he represents a chance for Democrats to establish firmly our values, potentially building a Democratic majority that could last a generation. He's that type of leader. They don't come along very often and the smart Democrat recognizes the opportunity to refashion the public perception of Democrats; not as scheming finger-in-the-wind opportunists, but as truly inclusive principles-based fighters for middle-class Americans.

  • Posted By: griffin1 @ 05/30/2008 4:39:59 PM

Democrats let's rise above all this back and forth it's time to stand with Obama and move on. Let's win this November. McCain represents the same failed polices of the Bush administration. Obama represents change. We can unite our party along with some republicans who clearly is fustrated with the direction that the Bushes has put us in. Let's commend both Barack and Hillary for such a tight race but at the end of the day we need to look at the big picture and make some serious changes. McCain claims not to have the same policies as Bush but he is having private fundraisers so he can't be seen with Bush. I dare him to call out Bush on some of these failed policies he cant do that because he will lose majority of the republican votes, you can't have it both ways McCain. We can see right through you.

But funny or not politics really should not be discussed in church, but in the Black Churches it has always been done. The church has always throughout American history, been the "meeting place" for blacks.

But again, it was funny and I am so very glad that this priest is white, but Clinton supporters will still try to spin this as another example of Obama being racist against whites.

Anyhow, lets say Obama is the nominee, he just can't beat McCain. With or without my vote. • Posted By: RDOMINGUEZ @ 05/30/2008 3:48:37 PM

I love the cynics who think that Obama is going to lose due to racism. You sure have a poor opinion of people, don't you. I feel sorry for people with such pessimism. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy if a black man is never given the chance to win in America out of fear of racism. I say challenge those closet racists among us to reject Obama because he is half black. My expectation is that the people who would reject a candidate because he's black would never vote for a Democrat anyhow and thus are moot.

      • Posted By: RDOMINGUEZ @ 05/30/2008 3:41:36 PM

I understand your concern. However, if you want to protect Roe vs. Wade, you should nominate a candidate who can win. See through your own personal opinions, look at the world we live in, full of hate and racism that still exists and tell me who you think can win. Not Obama. Sorry.

        • Posted By: Wackadamia Nut 2 @ 05/30/2008 4:03:07 PM

Your comment above "The way he "comes off" to me is all wrong"...isnt that your own personal opinion? If we are fighting sexism here with Hillary, isnt access to safe and legal abortion and a womans right to choose a part of advancing womens' rights and therefore diminishing sexism? A vote for McCain is a vote for further diminishing womens rights, thereby continuing the state of the world we live in filled with hate, racism, sexism. Couldn't we at least give the prospect of changing those things, making the world a better place for everyone a try? There's plenty of McCains out there, lets give someone else a try this one time.

Obama can and will win. All of the naysayers need to go back into your hole. If racism will prevent Obama from winning, then sexism will certainly doom Clinton as well. So what does that leave us? Nominating the same boring white guys as usual. I'll take the chance on Obama to avoid the fate of repeating the same mistakes of the past.
