Hillary is delusional again. Like her take on the sniper fire incident, she is having great difficulty seeing what is really going on. How does a man of such grace as Senator Obama deal with this graceless woman? I think the burden is solely on her shoulders to end this VP talk. She should come out today and heartily and sincerely congratulate Obama. She should say that she will enthusiastically support the ticket - but that SHE WILL NOT be on the ticket! She should call her surrogates like Lanny Davis and instruct them to end all of this absurd VP petition talk. After last night's ungracious display she proved that she cannot think beyond her own ambitions. She is not a team player. But she better act like one now. She is quickly losing the respect of many of her most ardent supporters like Charlie Rangell - and even the ladies on "The View!" She totally blew it last night. And every minute that goes by without her conceding that this race is over is doing permanent damage to her legacy.

As a non-white woman under 35, I was having trouble understanding the level of 'rage' and indignation that some of the more vocal Hillary supporters (as mentioned) were exhibiting in almost caricature-like (or so it seemed to me) proportions. I felt that the campaign was just preying upon emotions and playing up the you-go-girl angle on overdrive--I frankly found it bizarre, ludicrous, and troubling. However, I appreciate this article--it helped me attempt to see that emotion on display from a different perspective. For what it's worth, I feel like I can better understand where they're coming from. I hope they'll realize, though, that this is not their one chance. Every year, more women pick up more positions of power in the realm of politics. But I also hope they'll realize that not all males who didn't vote for HRC are "misogynists." I think of my father, who has long said that a woman would better run this country. He would gladly vote for a woman--not voting for her wasn't about her gender whatsoever. There were more important things to consider--like character, track record, leadership style, vision. I think that when we get to the point where all men judge a candidate based on those things--not seeing gender as a negative--it'll be a new day. The new day is just not the day that we all vote for a woman because she's a woman. But now I understand why it's valid for some to do that.

this is not bizarre. if you remember, a few months ago there was a magazine cover showing Hilary clinton and some aids : not a single man. .. scary thought to have a white house full of woman with Bill around. it would mean another presidency with 4 years of scandals. since she did not divorce him, it seems it was not a real problem for her.

  • Posted By: craig.whiten @ 06/04/2008 2:26:48 PM

2 words: vetting process: How can the Clintons expect to be back in the white house? with all the shaddy funds they received for bill Clinton's fundation and library? they will not pass.
as well Obama does not want to loose this incredible chance in the presidency by having a bill Clinton
on the loose cursing to the press and hitting on every intern

Barack Hussein Obama is not legitimate. The DNC gave him 63 unearned delegates from Michigan. That could mean the difference between winning and losing. Anybody in Hillary Clinton's shoes would understand how ticked off she would be. Hussein Obama's win is an "empty" win. Its a false outcome. There is no other way to define it. Great disservice was done to democracy here...no doubt about it.

Hillary Clinton was screwed and tattooed ten ways to Sunday by the DNC and the mailicious media and they have the audacity to say ... " oh my...Hillary...you must concede...you lost and be gracious....we want you to unify the party...please say you to be VP with Obama..." .....what a load of malarkey. What a grand spectacle in stupidity. Hillary Clinton owes nothing to no one. Hillary can rightfully say to everyone to .. " unify this !.. "

  • Posted By: Concerned Canadian @ 06/02/2008 6:03:50 PM

Hussein Obama and the Obamabots must feel very proud of their " empty ' win. The bum won because the primary process was rigged for him to win. Hussein Obama didn't win on his own merit.

Come November , Hussein Obama will earn a nice defeat. People will elect an American for President..McCain.

When Obama wins in November it will be sweet revenge for all the lies you have posted and all the insults you have directed at both he and his wife, his supporters and the journalists of many of the articles you have not agreed with for the last two months.

I don't know how they vote in Canada, but down here we vote. It's really funny how some people keep trying to hint that Obama somehow "stole" the nomination when he won fair and square. Funny...

This reporter as well as other writers and speakers, pundits forget how close the number of

supporters there are. This was not a runaway nomination.

Now that Obama is the Democratic Nominee the whole weight of all the challenges over the next few

months is tremdous. Obama has to find some way to convince over 18 million American who

supported Hillary to vote for him. He hasn't done it so far.

Obama's speeches seem so good as compared to President Bush's verbal fumblings and logic.
So I can see how people can be misled. He doesn't have any real plans at least not well

researched or effective. Now Obama has to work twice as hard making the campaign trail seem like

nothing. He has very little time to really be honest and sincere in addressing the critical

    issues for the American people.

We need effective action day one for four years if he is elected.
The republicans don't care if my family has healthcare. The republicans don't care if my family

members have a job that pays a living wage. Otherwise Obama will bomb big time.

Half of them are loyal Democrats and have already thrown their support behind Barack Obama the rest will eventually support him. He will not get 100% of them and that was never expected but in the end if we want what this is all about "The American People" having a voice again then they will support the Democratic Nominee and we will win back out country and start on job of repairing the damage to our great country from the last eight years.

Obama is ahead of Clinton by 45,000 votes in the overall count (CNN) provided that all of the uncommitted votes in Michigan stay awarded to him (and they will). By actual votes cast, Clinton leads by well over one hundred thousand votes (CNN). Media wise, Obama's FEW battleground victories (CNN) are of no acknowledged importance by superdelegates, and Clinton hangs on to these viable arguments which, in fact, should be acknowledged. Obama won Colorado, a swing state, which may prove to have a strong republican turnout in the fall. He will have to campaign hard to win the majority of battleground states that Clinton won in the primaries. Undoubtedly, Obama will be the party nominee, nonetheless. He eclipsed Clinton by delegates; hopefully he will do the same against McCain in the fall.

How can people say Hussein Obama can reach the number tonight to be nominated even though he received 63 unearned delegates from Michigan ? This is a false outcome to say the least. Anybody in Hillary Clinton's shoes would be pissed to say the least.

Thats what happens when you have a DICTATORS NATIONAL CONGRESS running a national political party.
The DICTATORS NATIONAL CONGRESS ( DNC ) rigged this whole thing for him to " win ". Hussein Obama didn't win on his own merit. Enjoy the " empty ' win DICTATORS NATIONAL CONGRESS...more interested in making history to get an African American to run for President instead of listening to the will of the people and be concerned for the best interests of the United States.

African Americans upset a lot of people in the US and in the world. Out of all the African Americans to pick for a candidate for President they couldn't pick a worse person to represent African Americans. You guys really blew it. Might as well of picked Louis Farrakhan while you're at it.

So , Hussein Obama enjoy your " empty " and unearned victory. We're thrilled. People are dancing in the streets. Ticker tape parade tomorrow. Be sure to hide Michelle.....she'll be your doom.

Rumour has it this real American , John McCain , will be the next President.

The Black Man got the right to vote before women did. I think it is interesting that this is playing out in a diffrent way today. Women are not very good at sticking together and that is why Hillary is losing.

It has been a fascinating political cycle. As a woman, I have realized that we have a long distance to cross to achieve a gender neutral society. I watched as Father Flager ridiculed a senator of the United States on the basis of her being white and female. Something tells me that if Senator Clinton would have had a minister in her home church do a similar sermon but reversed the names, sexes and races, the media would have declared it a fatal blow. NBC, Newsweek, MSNBC in the form of commentators like should register themselves as political lobbyist for the Obama campaign. Women have long memories. Please do not attempt to tell us how we should think. I look forward to President McCain and hope he would be bipartisan enough to select Hillary as his running mate. Mrs. Clift please do not attempt to speak for women. We can speak for ouselves and we will.

Actually, the only shocking thing about the Catholic priest's parody of Mtrs. Clinton is that he took anything even remotely political to the pulpit - parody or not.

Catholics are not supposed to get involved in politics in any country - they're supposed to remain neutral. I'm sure the Church reprimanded him.

Secondly, all political candidates are subjects of derision in any race, we've just all lost any sense of humor in our extreme efforts to be "politically correct' -- painfully so. If I'd been Hillary's advisor, I would have recommended she laugh this one off - I saw it on the news one night and thought it was funny in a vulgar sorta way. He was totally parodying Reverend Wright, by the sounds of it. I don't think it was that bad.

I like Hillary very much and hope she takes a strong, important role in Obama's Administration. I think Obama will win in a landslide victory this fall.

      • Posted By: notroubleatall1963 @ 06/03/2008 7:56:58 PM

I mean Catholic priests are not supposed to be overtly involved in politics. Catholics can certainly get involved in politics - sorry - correction of my statement above.

Concerned Canadian - I'll tell you when people overseas saw us as a "Banana Republic" and a "Dictatorship" - it was when Bush Jr. was "elected" after the fiasco in Florida in 2000. His ol' man, Bush Sr., called in his good ol' boy buddy (the former Democrat-turned-Republican in the Civil Rights era, as he was too prejudiced to go along with the "liberal" policies that LBJ had inherited from JFK), the one and only James Baker. It was then taken to the Supreme Court, because for weeks (months?) we didn't know who cheated, who won the popular vote, who would be our President.

That was unprecedented. Aren't you all glad we "voted" for Bush Jr. now? A remnant of the Texas bastion of the KKK and the old boys' network who treated Hispanics and Blacks like slave labor and whose "culture" made it perfectly okay to discriminate against women and all minorities, as a rule of thumb.

Look how far we came during the Bush Jr. years -- now we can hardly wait to elect a dignified, intelligent person to lead our country -- Obama!

This is just more crazy Newsweek blog propaganda based on personal bias, an unwillingness to be enlightened and puerile attacks. Aren't you of the same generation? You just don't get it. There is a huge chasm that just keeps widening because of articles like this and Obama bloggers. He wants to unite the Party? Then let Senator Clinton have the popular vote. Why did he have to accept the four Michigan delegates? He's doing nothing to heal the divide. George McGovern and NARAL coming out the day after her huge win in WV. Claiming the nomination Tuesday night would irreparably split that chasm. Wednesday after a final night of celebration - fine. Then Al Gore can cast the deciding vote with full pomp and circumstance in front of the MSM and then the slaying of the Clintons will be complete. The Vanity Fair article was timed to make sure that there was no chance of Senator Clinton being offered the VP job because of Bill. Who derailed the campaign? Bill. Who owned the campaign? The DNC and MSM especially Newsweek. This campaign was decided in part behind closed doors and so it can never be considered non-biased - unless there exists a complete recording of the proceedings. The Democratic Party directly impacted the process thus corrupting it. Show some class and give Senator Clinton the respect of the next 24 hours if you even remember what it is. Think. Why would Senator Clinton say she was getting out before the voters had a chance to really participate? So that their votes mattered too. This will never happen again. Get out of the picture and for once show Senator Clinton some respect. Any unification of the Party has to begin with the Obama camp which means the MSM/DNC. It's in your court. Do the right thing. Even if Rep. Clyburn went back on his promise to remain "neutral". What a joke.

    • Posted By: notroubleatall1963 @ 06/02/2008 6:51:21 PM

Guess what? Maybe all our Presidents are pre-determined by the "wise men" who run the country behind the scenes. Maybe a lot of foiks, high and low, are just tired of the Clintons. They're valuable to the Democratic party, absolutely, but maybe it's time to step aside for a new generation of politicians.

Guess what? Having a female for Prez is hardly a ground-braeking idea any more. Germany, the UK and even India and Ireland have had Lady Leaders, to name just a few. Great Britain has a history of Queens (Elizabeth I, for example) who have run the country when it was a world power in its own right. There is nothing avant garde or very unique about having our first Lady President.

Now having an African American for our President - THAT sets a precedent for the Western World as a whole, and sends a great message of peace, unity and diplomacy - and CHANGE - to the rest of the world. It sets the US apart and ahead of the pack, once again, and establishes a real break with our own miserable past.

So think positively and constructively, all you Clintonistas - we all love Hillary too and there is a place for her in the Sun. Just not at the Head, perhaps... we'll see.

Too damn late. Your vicious name calling, the blogs becoming a playground for the juveniles who know nothing of the really hard times we could go through, and mostly, your utter lack of respect for a former first lady whether you like her or not, has cooked your own goose. Do you honestly think you can repeatedly kick a person in the face and, when you need them, they'll come running? I have a different perspective than you. So what? The left in this country, the rotten good for nothing media and the sincophants who comprise the democratic party thought they could get their way by brutality and intimidation. What all of you forgot is that most of this country is moderate - not blind lunatics. Are our presidents preordaIned by the powers that be? You bet, and the stupid lemmings follow what the hype says and have totally abdicated the right to think for themselves. But some of us "old, hysterical" things believe that we can still make choices. I'm not jumping on the band wagon just because you have decided you need us. Too damn late. And, by the way, learn to iron your own shirts!

"Guess what? Maybe all our Presidents are pre-determined by the "wise men" who run the country behind the scenes. Maybe a lot of folks, high and low, are just tired of the Clintons."

    My comment:

Spoken like a true wiseman/woman. You nailed it. Spot on! Hit the mark!! Personally, I think the Wash-Establishment (aka: Insider Club) chooses who they want LONG in advance. Bottom line is each party takes its turn in the W.H. One Party's raises taxes and the other Party lowers taxes. And that's all by design, but I've already covered that in some of my other post. I come from a family of politicians, and for that reason, I chose to stay away. More of a personal thing. Plus, I've heard way too many horror stories of what really goes on behind close doors. No thank you folks!

Now most people here are going to think I crazy for saying this (esp Hill supporters), but I really believe that HRC was supposed to be the CHOSEN ONE this time around. She was supposed to walk right into the W.H. Heck, even "W" and the First Lady were saying that she was the most qualified candidate out there in the beginning of the Primary Season---heck, even before the primes started. Continued

    • Posted By: notroubleatall1963 @ 06/03/2008 1:11:36 PM

Yes, I agree with you that Hillary was supposed to be the "The One" - I think Bill Clinton and Bush Sr. were palling around together during the aftermath of the Tsunami in Asia, raising money for Relief efforts, and that's when I think they cooked up a little "Deal" - Bush Jr. will do his second term and Hillary will get to win in 2008. It was pre-determined.

But Obama came along - and was perhaps backed by certain other factions in the Democratic party, the folks who didn't always see eye-to-eye with Clintons, and he has won.

I think our electoral system is extremely complicated and almost defies description - I think we should move to a direct vote - or some system where winner takes all in every state - it should be simplified.

I back Obama anyhow, but I would have voted for Hillary if she had emerged as the true front runner. I do really like Obama as a leader - I think he will bring a lot more to the table in terms of pusshing the USA back into the forefront of Foreign Policy, Diplomacy, Economic Theory and other areas that fell short during the Bush years.

Really fell short.... Thank goodness a change is imminent.

    • Posted By: Concerned Ctzn @ 06/02/2008 10:07:53 PM

Does anybody here think that it was a coincidence that the past two decades the W.H. has been owned by the Bush's and Clinton's? Talk about a dynasty! We went from Bush Sr.--to--Bill--to Bush Jr and guess who was supposed to be next in line? Yup, you guessed it, HRC.

It was all part of the Master Plan. "W" was suppose to hand-over the Throne to Hill so that she could convince all of America that the Republicans (right-wing nut-jobs) screwed up so bad over the past 8 years and now I have to ask ya to kindly open up your wallets to pay down their mess. (I guess BO will do it now)

IMHO is all just part of the game "THEY" play on us stupid, naive folk. At least they think we're all still deaf, dumb and blind. Obviously, that is no longer the case. Just by reading through some of the post here there are a lot of folks here that are very politically astute.

Of course, there are a lot of people here that are just plain ignorant---and that's being nice. Now ... as the script is always written, after 8 years of Democratic Rule, people would be crying and begging for another compassionate conservative (haha) to take back the W.H.

So who do you think would be patiently awaiting in the Washington-Dugout in 2016. Yup, you all guessed it again: Jeb Bush.

You gotta love it! Well guess what? HRC foiled the plan and there are a lot of folks in Washington that are in "SHOCK" that this young kid from Harvard stole her dynasty. Needless to say, politics are politics. Once a politician (and Big Corp Exec's) realize that the Titanics sinkin' ... it's time to jump ship and get on the NEW FAST-TRACK EXPRESS. Loyalty only goes so far in politics. We all know that.

Anybody see things different? I'd really like to hear how other folks here see things.
