WHEN PEOPLE DISCOUNT REASON AND LOGIC; WHEN THEY BELIEVE HILLARY LIES, THEY ARE IN WITH THE DEVIL ------------ TOO LATE !
Time is short but we do have time. I do believe the media and I do not except that all Whites hate blacks or all blacks hate white. When you read these blogs as much as I have I noticed that some are hard at work to fuel the fire; are doing there job to pull the people of this great nation apart. We are bigger than this. I you ask a real breathing person who voted for Obama do you really hate her supporters. I think most people just want better for all of us. I plan on make sure I do my part to make sure enough of the bull. Hillary has just as many smart people on her camp as Obama. I think most are afraid that you read or see something that was pushed out there as fact. I ask myself why do I love being an American-- because it has all of it people here not just one race and even more one gender. We are one nation. I think anyone who takes the time to read these blogs is searching for hope. I want us to come together and say enough.
And you need to find the grace not to kick someone when they're down!

Let's call this what it is.............EXTORTION!!!!
If HRC doesn't get her way, she'll take her ball(votes) and go home. If the Dem. party wasn't at risk of losing her ONLY support base (50+women), the DNC would've told her to kiss their butts a long time ago.
KISSING BUTTS IS UNHEALTHY.
Excuse me Eleanor, but...has anyone noticed Hillary whining? Even the frame of your article is misleading and offensive. Unlike John Kerry who PROMISSED Ohio voters he would not concede until every vote had been counted and then folded early after people had waited over 10 hours in the rain to cast their votes(!!!), Hillary is KEEPING HER WORD to supporters and detractors alike. She has promissed us she would not cave to your pressure, and so she hasn't. And why should she??? Look at the popular vote totals!
What is the matter with you people? Many of whom screamed "COUNT EVEY VOTE" and "THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DEMOCRATIC PROCESS IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN A VOTER'S ABILITY TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS" in the 2000 Florida debacle? In spite of your relentless pounding in the press--which you can call sexism or just plain bias or whatever you want-- Senator Hillary Clinton continues to be pretty friggin Presidential.
And FYI, the protest in Washington on the 31st will not be "sexism protest" (nice try); rather, a DISENFRANCHISEMENT PROTEST.
And please don't mention the date of the Florida primary again unless you also admit it was the REPUBLICAN LEGISLATURE that was responsible for the move, so why punish the voters? And don't tell us again that Barack Obama's name was not EVEN on blue-collar Michigans primary (40% participating) ballot unless you admit that was a POLITICAL DECISION OBAMA MADE not to lose in his first appearance, but to wait for a CAUCUS (4% participating) opportunity. Which paid off handsomely for him by the way, as the mainstream media began singing hosannahs and strewing palm fronds in his path before he had even appeared on a primary ballot.
So, please, stop with the deceptive framing. And whatever you would like to call it--with "rules" being bent and cherry-picked right and left to favor Obama--there is PLENTY to protest in Washington on May 31st.
Hillary has been directly whining. For evidence, see the debate where she referenced SNL. She whined about how she was always getting the first question in debates. Funny thing is, her perception was wrong. Both Obama and Clinton had received the first question an equal amount of times. That's just one example. There are many others.
That is flatly mistaken.
Nope. It's the truth. It's in the record. She did it on live TV.
It's always whining when it's the other person's argument. Can you really be serious about "the first question?" I remember the hailstorm when he received her treatment before the Penn primary...and how badly he performed.
Hillary complained about the presses supposed sucking up to Obama. That's whining pure and simple.
The critique of the Pennsylvania debate wasn't that it was anti-Obama. It was that the moderators, instead of asking pertinent questions about real issues, spent a good amount of the time on chasing the latest gaffe or mistep by both candidates. It was an indictment of the whole punditry that cares more about scandal than real concrete problems in America.
Hillary complains at every chance. Obama always calls her a "formidable and tenious" candidate, etc. and is way more gracious than I, a woman, would prefer. She does her sex no good by acting like a woman can't lose. I had assumed I'd vote for her but like her, I too was wrong in my assumption. Obama has BEAT her handily (considering no one knew him a year ago) and women and Hillary can't believe it. When her husband came out of nowhere to win, she Hillary could accept that but when Obama comes out of nowhere to beat her butt, she can't accept it. She and her supporters need to MAN UP and accept that they ran a worse campaign and stop dragging the party down. She doesn't do her gender any good also by being the nastiest of the three candidates in her behavior. This is why American amended the constitution so that a President can't have more then 2 times in office because power corrupts. The Clintons got their two tries and now, like Ted Kennedy, finally chose to do after 1980, they need to leave this White House thing alone and be public servants in another way. If they love this country more than only through the Oval Office then they can be very effective outside the White House. Trying to force destiny implies that she can change God's will. Sometimes HE has different plans for us and though we try....its just not meant to be. Hillary has tried everything to win this nomination and its not meant to be and that has nothing to do with being a woman. Are you seriously suggesting that all of a sudden its "easier" to be a black man in America or the world for that matter than to be a black man? Lets be real and gracious about losing a campaign and put the country first.
Moe,
You've digested all the Clinton talking-points, haven't you? You've even adopted her tone of entitlement as well.
Let's repeat some things you refuse to acknowledge:
1) Hillary Clinton, Howard Wolfson, and Terry MacAuliffe are all on record, written and visual, supporting the revoking of FL/MI's delegates. Each of them stridently argued these states must be punished...until they realized they needed them to win.
2) The Democrats in the FL state legislature were fully complicit in moving up the primary date. Not one of them voted in opposition.
I believe the Stumper blog on "Flor-igan" illustrates this with several more details. Feel free to peruse
YOu've been in the tank for Obama since January. As a result, your opinion is just not credible.
Hillary Clinton
Don't you know
The time has come
To go, go, GO!
Get on your way!
Please Hilla-ray!
You can go by balloon . . .
Or broomstick.
You can go by bumble-boat
Or you can go by jet.
I don't care how you go.
Just get!
Hillary Clinton!
I don't care how.
Hillary Clinton
Will you please go NOW?
(with apologies to Dr. Suess)
Wackadamia- If you don't want to see Roe Vs. Wade overturned, you better make sure Hillary is the nominee because Obama sure is not going to beat McCain. You're efforts for Obama, while courageous are misguided.
and cnn357 also is just voting for Obama because he is black. hahaha Hey cnn, I was gone, but now I'm back. Bring it.
Why would you lie about why im voting for Barack?
Is there something wrong with your brain?
I am voting for Obama because Hillary and Edwards lost.
Obama will trounce McCain. Hilary has big problems with independent voters. Obama does much better with this key demographic. You are completely incorrect.
RDominguez--you miss the point - I'm not speaking to those who are already behind B.O. but those who claim they'll vote for McCain if Hillary isn't the nominee. She isn't going to be - so lets get to the reality of the situation.
The first major party to nominate a female was the Democratic Party in 1984. It was a disasterous campaign in many ways but the the experience did not really test the idea of a female president. The nomination of a female vice-president by Obama would be a mistake in my opinion. While I sincerely hope we can elect him the challenges a black/female ticket face are yet too formidable.
How about we just send Hillary and Obama packing and we both agree that Al Gore should be the nominee. This has just gotten too ugly on both ends.
Oh, Eleanor, so close. You got to the very last line with a rational, realistic column. It would have been a tremendous first for you. But then you had to stick in at the end that "she proved herself worthy to win it".
So, so close. But a valiant effort to be congratulated nonetheless.
I AM A HILLARY SUPPORTER AND I WILL NEVER,NEVER VOTE FOR OBAMA. I WOULD RATHER STAY WITH THE DEVIL I KNOW (MCCAIN) THAN THE ONE I DON'T KNOW (OBAMA). I JUST DO NOT TRUST HIM. EVERY DAY SOMETHING ELSE COMES OUT ABOUT HIM AND THE PEOPLE HE ASSOCIATES WITH AND THIS IS NOT WHAT AMERICA NEEDS. JESUS HELP US TO NOT ELECT THE WRONG PERSON AGAIN.
Mission complete, HRC has officially split the democratic party, she has obviously overstayed her welcome in this race and is doing more damage than good to the party as a whole. the only real winner here will be McCain.. Nice going Hillary, way to fight to the bitter end!!!
It's official, HRC has split the democratic party. this is the kind of response that proves Hillary has overstayed her welcome, and why McCain will probably be our next President... Nice going Hillary!!!
YES ! WHAT WILL YOU DO WHEN THE DEVIL ( HILLARY CLINTON ) LOSES NOMINATION BID ?
VOTE FOR OLD MAN , WITH NO IDEAS ?
Let???s be honest--She has been afforded every courtesy, every benefit of the doubt, has been tip-toed around (lest she cry sexism or conspiracy!), and has had her right to continue in the race defended far louder and longer (given the daunting numbers) than any other candidate, male or female, would have.
A person who is so stubborn and self-righteous, so willing to employ ANY MEANS to justify his/her ends is the type of person who would be a DANGEROUS LEADER!
Haven???t we learned that lesson already and clearly from the jackass currently occupying the White House?
Oh and P.S. to those who say they???d vote for McCain over Obama, I???ve got 3 words for you, ROE v. WADE. Think about it.
Hillary was loyal to Bill Clinton and the Democratic Party by staying with him through his impeachment. The party made a deal (in writing or by slight of mouth) with Hillary to back her in New York as Senator and in a presidential bid. They backed her in New York. They lied about the bid for president. Obama did not come from nowhere. Obama came from the loins of Nat Turner and the Martha's Vineyard Kennedy property and lies of blacks reverends dependent on bitterness, inner city use of guns, religeous rhetoric covertly hiding in churches their true purpose prior to, during, and since the Civil war. That true purpose was and is today to someday reincarnate or resurrect Nat Turner (Obama), and the Kennedy clan reinvention of a civil war in the USA by using the media and political cartoon characitures including a black messiah Obama). A black Howdy Doody whose every move is guided by strings being pulled and a thunderous low monotone voice wooing the masses.
Thunderous low monotone voice? You are a very, very funny person. Too bad it's unintentional.
BTW, what the heck was that reference to "inner city use of guns" about? I didn't get what you were attempting to drive at with that one at all.
Let???s be honest--She has been afforded every courtesy, every benefit of the doubt, has been tip-toed around (lest she cry sexism or conspiracy!), and has had her right to continue in the race defended far louder and longer (given the daunting numbers) than any other candidate, male or female, would have.

I totally feel she is a victim of sexism.... I believe she is being sacrificed by the dems for a male candidate. Don't ask my why; I haven't a clue. She is so much stronger than Obama, yet the party panders to him and is virtually pushing her out of the race.
The only good news is that the convention is not being held until August... because the DNC didn't want to conflict with the summer olympics, of all things... but that could definitely work to Clinton's benefit. I believe the supers will gradually work their way back to her so that when this race does reach the convention floor, she could still come out with the party nomination.
This race is not over by a longshot.
debkey, I still don't understand the argument that Hillary is the better candidate vs McCain. The numbers continue to show, among Democrats, that she is weakening by the day. Without mentioning the famous "electoral map" that is constantly manipulated to fit any scenario, could you please explain this argument? Thanks.
From today's Gallup Poll: "Barack Obama has, for the moment, re-established a double-digit lead over Hillary Clinton in national Democratic voters' nomination preferences in Gallup Poll Daily tracking, 52% to 42%.Since just after the North Carolina and Indiana primaries, Obama has led Clinton nearly every day, including a stretch of double-digit leads in the May 18-22 Gallup Poll Daily tracking releases. Since then, his advantage had been slightly less, at five to eight percentage points, but is back to a 10-point lead in the latest data. In a bit of a change from recent days, Obama and Clinton are both running similarly versus John McCain in the general election. Clinton had fared better in recent trial heats than Obama, but the latest update shows both races as statistical ties -- Clinton 47%, McCain 45% and Obama 46%, McCain 45%."
So, he's leading among Democrats, tied in the GE, and is leading among INDEPENDENTS. I understand that polls are not the "end all, be all" in election outcomes, but they are the only indicator we have. Someone please explain how HRC is stronger?
And, trust me, the race IS OVER. Even if this goes to the convention, the supers have already chosen their candidate.
debkey,
I am confused by your rationale. I too, am a woman and I have not seen the sexism to which you allude. I am disappointed in many of the stances that Sen. Clinton has taken in an effort to prove that she can compete with men. I am of the feminist movement and quite frankly feel that Sen. Clinton has set the feminist movement back. Feminism means competing to the best of your ability on a fair playing field. If you lose you accept the loss graciously. Unfortunately, the Clinton campaign was ill planned and suffered as a result a loss to a campaign that is better organized for the long run. She had all of the advantages of any candidate in the race. As a woman I am hopeful that she will accept this loss graciously. Better late than never.
Great article--it;s about time that a reasonable woman has stepped to the plate to speak the truth. Losing is very hard when a contest is close. You tend to second guess everything-- which turns into whining. Ladies, Hillary is NOT the best woman to become the first woman president--because she is too partisan, and she owes too much of her political career to her male spouse. She is also the end an era .... the Clinton/Bush era of partisan bickering. Obama is the future--its not about him being black or male -- its about end --- and a new begining. Please, cleanse yourself of all bitterness and join the 21st century. There will be a woman president-- --
Thank you for a great article. I am a white 64 year old woman and I don' t feel that there was sexism involved. I believe she took for granted because she was Bill Clinton's wife, she would win and be the nominee. But what she is doing to women is a little hard to take. As far as MI and FL are concerned, why is everyone pandering to Hillary? She said the voted didn't count, she signed the paper just as all the candidates did, so why are they allowing her to trash this election? If I robbed a bank, do you think they would allow me to play by my rules? I broke the rules and should be punished.
