Everyone read Tired and Old's comment, this is a prime example of someone who hates White people and supports Obama because he is black. Looks how he/she uses the word "white" as if it's a bad thing.
This is the internet
most people dont come out like that, like the way you come out about Obama and blame him
for things that are not his fault
You are two sides of the same coin
lw/w&w - is and example of a Hillary supporter who is on the money and not playing the blame game
who wants to engage in intelligent conversation
I find it quite humorous that those few pious Clinton supporters whose dogma will not allow them to face reality as determined by the will of the voters can possibly accuse Obama supporters of "ignorance". How smart was it for Clinton to buy Bu$hCo's incredibly transparent sales pitch to march us to war in Iraq? And then two years later, to extend this imperial debacle by voting for a resolution to allow an attack on Iran? And the arrogance of calling the former President of the Harvard Law review "stupid" is beyond belief!
The First Woman President will be to Hillary what Obama is to Al Sharpton.
what a great quote ! That is very sharp observation, you are right.
She's now got to muster the grace to lose. I don't believe she has it in her. I did feel sorry for her, but now it's just pity. Go Obama
The point here is that many don't like Hillary not because she's a WOMAN but because she's a CLINTON. I may support Obama but he earned that support. Was I biased against Hillary? Sure, and her being a woman had not one iota to do with it!!!
Her saying that she's losing because of sexism is a tactic to bring in women to vote for her. I certainly don't blame her for doing it but the difference is that I recognize it for what it is, a campaign tactic. Is there sexism out there? Absolutely but that isn't why she's lost this primary. It's the running as almost an incumbant on the wrong message, her vote for war in Iraq, her campaign not planning beyond Super Tuesday, financial mismanagement, ignoring the causaus states, etc. The list goes on and on. Claiming that if this were a winner take all campaign and she would have won doesn't hold water because her husband had no problems winning under the current rules. FL & MI? She and her campaign agreed to the actions taken against these states.
That all said, I would have voted for Hillary in the General Election because I don't want another Republican in the White House. 8 long years of Lies & Deceit has been more than enough.
It's always "whining" when it's the OTHER PERSON's complaint.
I think Clift and other Obama -supporting female journalists just detest Hillary and Bill Clinton. Maybe they're jealous, maybe they feel like they finally have a little power and it's payback time, who knows? But the pro-Obama media bias is palpable and the women supporting Hillary are furious. I really believe there will be fall out as a result. Whatever we need to do to keep Obama from winning, we'll do. We may not be successful but we are tough and determined and we have very long memories.
It's funny that you say the pro-Obama attitude from the media is palpable. A recent media study shows that Obama and Clinton have both received just about equal positive coverage. In fact, the media's tone towards Obama has become more negative and critical as the primary season has worn on. It seems like you've allowed your bias to take control of your own objectivity and now you're exhibiting behaviors of selective observation.
Interesting. There has been much analysis as to what went wrong with Clinton's campaign. The general consensus, by both male and female strategists, is that the campaign was badly managed in the first half of the campaign season. The Clinton campaign did not have a plan in place for after Super Tuesday in February. After all, the media had pretty much proclaimed her coronation a year ago. They initially had over $100 million in their coffers to play with and in some accounts over spent on ridiculous things at the beginning. They ignored the caucus states and instead focussed on what they considered to be the states that mattered. You can't claim media bias or sexism for the fact that the Obama campaign was much better informed and organized in the caucus states. Clinton fell behind in the delegate count and has never been able to recoup. As they say, she should have "watched her left flank" (for you feminists out there, this refers to battle) Sexist???
I remember very well the round-the-clock media coverage of the crazy Rev. Wright thing as well as the non-stop analysis of Obama's comments in San Franscisco. Pro-Obama Bias????
There is no doubt that there has been some sexism in this primary season. It goes with the territory. As our youth would say "suck it up". Margaret Thatcher embraced the nickname "Iron Lady" and Indira Ghandi would probably bought a case of "nutcrackers" and given them out as party favors. The true female world leaders that we have seen would have relished as they dismissed any stupid sexist remarks. They NEVER would have been caught pulling the sexism card as an excuse!
The media that I have seen on all networks has constantly praised Clinton's toughness and resiliency. However, I suppose you can make a case for anything if you really want to.
The truth of the matter is that Clinton lost this nomination through a series of bad decisions, not through sexism.
Oh, not that it matters, but I am a 58 year old liberated female,
Want to Stop the Whinning.
Agree to a truce first. Count FL and MI and all the remaining delagates. If Obama wins he is the nominee. Hillary the VP. If she wins Hillary is the nomee. He is the VP.
If these Delegates are not counted and Obama is nominated voters in MI and FL will be disenfranchised because of DNC politics and the Dems will loose the GE. If they are counted and Hillary supoorts him they will have no choice but to fall in line. The only problem is if you count MI and FL Obama looses every major swing state to Hillary while getting half of his delagates from states where he will loose in the fall. Sure he took his name off the ballot in MI because he knew he would loose. Then his minions thwarted all recount attempts because counting all the votes makes Obama look weak. If all the votes are not counted in this close election, Hillary supporters will look at this as an affirmative action nomination and many will vote for McCain. Many Hillary supporters justified doing this as they feel betrayed by their Superdelagates. i.e. Kerry, Kennedy, Richardson, and Byrd all hail from states that supported Hillary but thier elected officials have decided to "follow the money".
A joint ticket may be the only way to save the Democrats from "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory " again. What a year. Imagine the best Superbowl ever and the best election ever in one year. Democracy established in Afganistan, Iraq, Pakistan and just yesterday in Nepal. Sure Americans are whinning as usual but America and the rest of the world is better off than ever thanks to America. U Gotta LUV It.
Despite his message of hope and change, Obama has become the establishment candidate
Why? Could it be that he is bought and paid for already?
You can't count MI and FL as is. It's completely unfair because BOTH candidates agreed not to campaign there and droves of voters in those states didn't vote knowing that it wouldn't count. Clinton is only now pushing to count these states that she agreed would not count because she feels it will help her cause. Surely, the MI and FL situation is FUBAR. However, to count them as is would be a greater travesty to democracy than excluding them completely.
Your right - you cant count them 100%. But some of the Hillary supporters claims are so absurd that I had to bend on that just for the sake of argument.
But if you scroll down the my post at the bottom - If you count them 100%, Hillary still loses.
and Imag if Obama had his name on the ballot and if they coulnt both campaign in those states
Hillary would have gotten less vote than she did now - and she really would have been finished
The agreement was that the votes count 50%. But that is stupid so Ill agree with you and say count them 100%.
We cant disenfranchise FL and MI
Obama was not at fault for not doing a revote. he did not make the rules - put the blame where is belongs - the rouge states and the DNC
as for Obama being paid for - interesting - he would not be here is the establisment would not have pushed him since 2004
THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING: HILLARY LIES.
I'm glad this article comes from a female. I agree totally. I was originally for Clinton, until her campaign started using questionable tactics when they realized Senator Clinton was going to have a credible challenger. After Bill Clinton's remarks in South Carolina, I mailed my ballot in--for Obama.
The video the the pastor mocking Hillary says it all about who she is. Even though it might come off as rude, the message he was trying to get across was TRUE. HRC thought that she would win this once she announced her candidacy. Never in their wildest dreams they thought a black man named Barack HUSSEIN Obama would have an ice cube's chance in hell to beat her and the Clinton machine. The article makes to very valid points Clinton supporters choose to constantly and consciously ignore: 1. If Clinton had not voted for the resolution that gave President Bush the authority to wage war, the door would not have swung open for Obama to enter the race. 2. Clinton campaign's decision to not aggressively contest the caucus states allowed Obama to build up a lead in delegates that Clinton was never able to overcome and 3. Even though she ran a tough campaign, that same campaign was terribly mismanaged and is currently in debt for 20 extra large. It's no way she can argue she's the "more experienced" candidate and at the same time her campaign is in the red when the nations debt is in the trillions. It is totally asinine to place the blame on Obama. Remember.....uh.....he's her OPPONENT. What it all boils down to is this: white woman feel somehow "cheated" that a black man will have the opportunity to be the commander in chief before a white woman and they do not like that. By manifesting these attitides these so called feminist are perpetuating the same injustices they themselves claim to be victims of and they are manifesting clear reflections of hypocisy that their leader supports.
HILLARY CLINTON = WE DON'T NEED A BLACK MAN IN THIS RACE, I WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU.
I AM WHITE, DEVIOUS, MEAN, A REAL WITCH, AND THE BIGGEST LIAR IN THE WHOLE WORLD.
YOUR BETTER OFF MY BLACK FRIENDS IF I DO THE THE THINKING; AFTER ALL, I AM WHITE.
MY FRIENDS ARE BIGOTS AND LESS EDUCATED, THEY BELEIVE MY LIES.
I WILL TELL THEM YOUR REALLY WHITE PERFORMERS WEARING BLACK FACE.
ALRIGHT DSROBERTS! I agree we need to do anything to stop Obama. If McCain can beat him, which he can, then he's our man!
I hope Hillary does take this all the way to the convention, there's no way she can damage the party, because as a presidential candidate Obama can't win. YET another pastor came out today, his skeletons keep coming out and he just won't win with those kind of anti-white racial ties. Not gonna happen.
RDominguez
Ignorance is Bliss. The pastor that made the comments was white. Please do your homework before you call anyone a racist.
YOU GIVE LATINO BAD MIS - SPEAK.
This wasn't Obama's Pastor, it was a Priest who was speaking at the Church that Obama attends.
Obama can and will win. He has a much better chance than Hillary who wants to take her ball and go home if she isn't given the nomination.
Well John, fine, I can accept that they won't give "Tracy Flick" as you call her (by the way I loved Tracy Flick in that movie) but just because Obama won the nomination doesn't mean he'll beat McCain. And actually he won't. SO, why don't you meet up on one of these blogs post election once McCain wins so I can laugh at you and tell you how you just woke up from your dream.
Obama beats McCain in national polls.
If you liked the Tracy Flick character than Hillary certainly is your candidate. I especially liked the scene where Tracy ripped down her opponents campaign posters because she was losing and felt the victory was owed to her.
The hilarious thing about feminists is that they're so stupid that they can make a comment like "I only vote for a female candidate", and then say OTHER PEOPLE ARE SEXIST.
I am a woman, and a minority, and have a few very concrete, blatant personal experiences with professional discrimination, and yet hillary's claims offend me-- I think you hit the nail on the head. Thank you!
I don't think hillary was shunned by many because she is a woman, she was shunned because she is Hillary Clinton. Her past in Arkansas and Washing speaks for itself. She is not the waoman for the job.
Amen. This is just another example of the Clintons being unable to accept reality and chosing to blame everyone but themselves for a poor outcome.Of course she expected to win but the truth is her campaign was outsmarted by Obama and his staff. The better candidate by far is going to win and no amount of phony excuses can change that fact.I for one will be glad to see Hillary go, the sooner the better.
Thank you for the commentary. I believe Hillary claiming sexism as the cause for her losses undermines the ability of legitimate claims of sexism to be heard; she is the boy crying wolf, so when a real case of sexism comes up, no one will take it seriously. I have found her campaign and her presentation of the issues to be frankly disingenuous and filled with hal-truths and hand-waving when it comes to the nuts and bolts of her plans; she manipulates facts and unlike both Obama and McCain, she has never stood up for anything unpopular because it was right. To add insult to injury, she and Ms Ferraro have made their idea of feminism a vehicle to justify blatant racism, and I have been offended by her campaign.
Amen. This is just another in a long line of examples where the Clintons complain about everything and everybody without accepting any blame.Hillary lost fair and square to a campaighn that was better organized and quite honestly, presented a better candidate.Obama is a far superior choice to end the politics as usual game and move us beyond this destructive game of partisan politics.
