To C. Maclean: Good comment and probably all true. HC most likely wouldn't have come this far had she not been first lady. But, if you'll read my comment, (Eugene23), I think HC. Composano, and cable news all miss the point. It's about rules and their importance in a democracy. They don't hinder the process, they keep it orderly and fair. Putin's election was orderly, but obviously not fair. Rules to abide by are extremely important, that's why our founders worked so much on the constitution. To me, this isn't about Obama and Hillary, it's about keeping the gears of democracy well oiled.

OBAMA and his supporters, they claim that they are liberals but they dont know what a Liberal is.

Otherwise they will demand that the Good Reverand Wright will be released by the OBAMA goons and be free to speak his mind.

I want to hear his truth about OBAMA and not from OBAMAs communist followers. I like his reverand at least he tells the truth. He is not a "cheat and a lier ..." (the way he defined OBAMA).

I'm not fighting another war and losing another f$%king limb because some guy wants to live out his young and ambitious navy years. We have issues to deal with at home. I can't imagine anyone who has been keeping us safe from foreign invasion would vote for someone that wants to send our jobs overseas as well as our soldiers. I'm done man.... Obama is our best shot. I'm not expecting it to be golden, but I don't expect it to as bad as Bush has us. I stand behind our leader because he is our leader.... but you saw what I saw. It's not right sir. just not right.

I just learned so much from the two of you. I won't ever understand what you've been through, but I thank you both for your service and the terrible sacrifice you've made for us. Just remember, we're all Americans and we're on the same side, even though it doesn't feel like it right now. Daddy, I still think you're a bigot, but you're also a hardass Marine, like my grandfather. That's how I know you're better than that...way, way better than that. You're a Marine, and you can do anything...even forgive a fellow American for having an islamic name. Join the rest of us and lose the black-white thing dude. We're Americans, and we all love this kickass country. No criticism. Just an observation. I am so loving you guys.

Whoa daddy! You should chill. We all appreciate your service, but the fat ho, welfare check thing is uncalled for. You're not the only one who served our country, and you're kind of off the subject a little. Vote your color if that's what you think you've gotta do, but you're better than that. You know that, don't you? Sounds like you might need a little post-Iraq anger management training. But if you vote McCain, he's not going to help you get it. The VA will just keep on falling apart on his watch. Tell me this: If the black man wins and actually manages to help the country get back on its feet and bring our military back to full strength, would you be able to overlook his color and vote for him in 2012? If not, then consider the possibility that you might hate black people more than you love your country. Does that seem right to you?

Hey, get a load of this.

Yesterday, FoxNews owner Rupert Murdoch ENDORSED OBAMA. Murdoch says that even though he is a Republican and an arch-conservative, he can't possibly vote for McCain, since McCain is "very weak on the economy."

RUPERT MURDOCH PREDICTED THAT OBAMA WILL WIN THE GENERAL ELECTION.

RUPERT MURDOCH IS VOTING FOR OBAMA.

Imagine if FoxNews stops bashing Obama, and begins to support him.

In related news, WARREN BUFFETT, Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway and the richest man in the world, came out in support of Obama recently. Mr. Buffett said that although he admires Hillary Clinton and has supported her in the past, he feels that Senator Obama will do the most good for America, and positively charge the economy.

Warren Buffett and Rupert Murdoch are worlds apart in terms of political ideas, but they each know all there is to know about the economy. They are both wealthy investors and businessmen, and they both know that only Obama has was it takes to turn the around the recession.

I can see your point, but the woman needs to be the RIGHT woman - not a woman who is out for herself rather than for ALL women. Don't be angry - be informed. Barack is a good man and a women's advocate. Please listen to him and open your minds.

PLEEZE, this kind of BS does more damage to those of us who divorced our cheating husbands and started over with nothing than anything else. HRC knew what the rules were -- Edwards and Obama played by them, she didn't. How the hell is this kind of two-faced, childish behavior helping any woman, any where? Her husband refused to step out of office for the good of the country and his completely self-centered behavior started this mess and gave us Bush instead of Al Gore. She refuses to step down and might quite likely give us McCain. This is not about women or women's issues -- it is about selfish, ego manic behavior. This nonsense makes me sick and it does great damage to those of us who have worked very hard to make it on our own without whining and manipulation at every turn of events. The woman represents everything men hate about the way women behave.

    • Posted By: ginamlaster @ 05/31/2008 12:57:04 AM

Too true! If Obama had started throwing civil rights, slavery, Zimbabwe and black issues in everyone's faces, they'd be screaming for his head for playing the race card. He never once made this about black people or black issues, so why is she given a pass when she declares herself the patron saint of the vagina? She is setting back women's issues 100 years by displaying every negative stereotype in the book, including that fake crying jag she put on in New Hampshire. WTF?!! There's no crying in poltics! If Obama had cried when he lost PA, he'd have been laughed out of the race.

How is it that a group called WomenCount is not about gender?

I just do not see that there has been a big problem with sexism in this campaign by the mainstream media, although the fringe media has displayed some - but really, does anyone take the Limbaughs, et al, seriously?.

What I see is that HRC rode her husband's coat-tails to the senate without any real work of her own, became a pretty decent though not outstanding senator, and then ran for president. And is about to lose - not because of the media, not because of her slimy husband - but because SHE screwed up.

As a woman, I find HRC an embarassment, and frankly, I think she got much more exposure, much more press, and much more money precisely because she was the first female candidate, not because she has all that much going for her.

I don't understand why there is a vocal minority that dislikes her so, but I understand even less why there are so many women who think she is the best we can do - she isn't, not by a long shot.

And I will never understand women thinking that women's issues and children's issues will be championed by McCain - of the three candidates, he clearly is the least likely to be a friend to women.

If there was ever an opportunity for her to prove that she is a democrat first and a woman second, it is now - either she gracefully accepts defeat and throws her support to Obama now, before any more damage is done, or she shows her true colors and proves the worst of what is being said about her - that she is selfish and ambitious to a fault and cares nothing for her supporters, her party or her country.

Watch the movie Recount....it epitomizes why Democrates always loose...they play too nice. The Republicans use every method available to them in a fight. I am tired of taking the high road and watching my party loose every election. We need someone with direct communication, statesmanship, dignity and outright gamesmanship. Obama will have his time...but it is not right now. We need Hillary! Contrary to the comment below, I believe Obama is ruining the party's chances, not Hillary. She should take her campaign as far as she needs to in order to get elected. Maybe she should run as an independent and take her votes with her.

    • Posted By: ginamlaster @ 05/31/2008 12:48:09 AM

You're tired of taking the high road? Democrats always lose because we run losers, like Hillary. You are delusional if you think that Hillary has a snowball's chance in hell of winning in the general. Don't you remember Bill's impeachment hearings? The only thing that can save the republican party is Hillary Clinton, the only person conservatives hate more than McCain.

How many times do I have to tell you people? REPUBLICANS HATE CLINTONS!!! If she were nominated, their hatred of the Clintons is so incredibly powerful that it would resurrect whole zombie armies of dead republicans who would tear their way out of the grave and drag their decaying corpses to the nearest polling station to cast a vote for ANYONE who could keep THAT woman out of office. That's why Rush Limbaugh has been desperately running the Operation Chaos thing to get her nominated. He doesn't love her or even like her. He hates her guts. But they know they can beat her, and they're right. That's why they want her nominated so bad.

    • Posted By: eliaseg @ 05/30/2008 4:10:28 PM

Watching movies and making decisions based on someone elses suggestive ideas is the mark of an idiot. Idiot.

If HRC can't win legitimately, or illegitimately by counting votes in states that her opponenents did not win, what makes you think that she can win as an independent.

Sheesh... where did she dig you guys/gals up? This sounds like a meeting of the minds at a nursery school.

      • Posted By: callmehandy64 @ 05/30/2008 7:56:35 PM

    • Posted By: ginamlaster @ 05/31/2008 12:37:08 AM

Thank you for saying so. You know, Irma Griese was a woman who killed jews in a concentration camp. Am I a traitor to my gender for calling her an evil, power-hungry bi*ch? That's what she was, and I'm calling it as I see it. Just because someone is female doesn't make her a saint, and it doesn't make me evil, self-loathing or wrong because as a woman I don't support another female, particularly when I think she's selfish, self-centered and totally out for herself.

    • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 05/30/2008 4:49:19 PM

Yes ladies, women do count...even those who support Mr. Obama and not Mrs. Clinton and there are lots of us too! If the roles and positions had been reversed at this point and Mrs. Clinton was leading, Mr. Obama would have been long gone and rightly so. She is not entitled to the nomination just because she's a woman. Yes, women do count and we can think too!

    • Posted By: News and Notes @ 05/30/2008 4:17:39 PM

      • Posted By: ginamlaster @ 05/31/2008 12:31:19 AM

Wrong. As a country, we haven't changed all THAT much that we're going to let some black man tear apart the democratic party because he lost the nomination. The DNC would have handed him his hat back in February and that would have been that. It wouldn't have mattered how hard he fought. The DNC would have decided that the country wasn't ready for a black president yet, and he would have been sent quietly or kicking and screaming back to the senate. But either way, he would never have been allowed this kind of leeway or handled with kid gloves as they are doing with her.

I and a lot of my friends are so happy that someone is stepping up for all of us.
We felt like we were being told that we should just sit back and be quiet -- that it is going to be Obama and that is that! Our Baron Hill, Representative 9th District in Indiana) told our group that he was going to wait and see what his constituents wanted and that is what he would do. The 9th District went over-whelmingly for Hillary and he endorsed Obama. Why should we vote at all if they are going to do what they please anyway? I have never seen some of these women as angry as they are over this and we all feel so helpless.
It is so disheartening to see how the world still views women as second class citizens.

    • Posted By: Carol L. @ 05/31/2008 12:20:11 AM

Please don't feel helpless. Get madder than hell, raise your voice in every way you can and join with other women to fight for common goals, respect and the right to the same rights as any male.

  • Posted By: Nins @ 05/31/2008 12:19:24 AM

Oh, so maybe you would rather vote for McCain. He's not sexist, not at all. He only called his former wife a cu^t in public, then divorced her and married a rich heiress instead.

And please, please tell me that Bill Clinton is not a sexist. Tell me Billy Boy doesn't think of women as sex toys that exist only for his cigar-using pleasure.

Oh, yes, the Democratic party is sexist. My eye. Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi have more balls between them than ten men. I think the Dems have pushed women forward in a very aggressive way. And good for them.

You are just upset that your candidate hasn't prevailed. I'm sorry that this is a disappointment. But let's put the blame where it belongs. Hillary allowed herself to be out-campaigned. Maybe if she hadn't listened to all those MEN who ran Bill's campaigns she would have done better against Obama.

all of this BS about obama being a muslim is making my stomach hurt.

i was born in this country, have lived here all my life, and am proud to be a muslim. I kind of wish that obama was muslim because then maybe more could be done to confront the bigotry and stereotypes that still exist in our country. he never misses an opportunity to let people know that he's a christian. and that's fine -- most of my friends are christians and i love all of them.

but the bottom line is, what should matter is not his religion, but his values and what he wants to do for this country. all the bigots out there who say they would "never vote for a muslim" or never vote for "any body who is not a christian" really represent the ugliest among us.

    • Posted By: ginamlaster @ 05/31/2008 12:18:21 AM

    • Posted By: AjaxRasputin @ 05/30/2008 4:13:27 PM

Right on. I'm the farthest thing from "religious," but I wholeheartedly agree with you. Athiests in American politics receive similar dicrimination. Can you imagine the uproar if Obama (or any candidate) stated that he didn't believe in god? He wouldn't have a chance, hence the cycle continues of candidates' constant reminder of their religious ties to appease the masses.

Clearly this is a case of a much less qualified male usurping the best-qualified woman for the job. And it is not surprising to see Clift's belittling words [whine] as the media has virtually thrived on degrading rhetoric for political sport in this election.

If Sen. Obama takes the nomination it will mostly be because media people like Clift failed to vet his campaign. A campaign built on an image of political change when even cursory reporting would have revealed the emptiness of that image given his career roots in Chicago.

We have a way to go to the convention. Maybe media pundits can belittle enough women into voting for Sen. Obama. But as it stands with the Pew Research Polls at this hour, Obama has rightly tumbled in the esteem of many women. Clift certainly took a nosedive with many women as well.

It's over!! What does Hillary and you supporters not understand about "NO"- the "N" or th "O"? Few of us care about the credentials of you people and your reasoning for creating a distraction at the DNC Rules Committe meeting. You're fears a probably justified in all votes counting, but it isn't at this level. You should be expending this misdirected energy at ensuring the General Election Votes are the ones that are counted! With the Diebold election machines and photo ID's, the GOP will ensure McBushain is elected, regardless of the acual votes cast (Ohio in the last election)! A very worthwhile effort would be to assist all the voters in the state(s) that require photo ID's get them. Your money would have been much better spent on newspaper ads and assistance in the states that require photo ID's. People like you are mere pawns playing into the hands of lobbyists and the Rovenator. Don't whine and snivel when the GOP returns to the White House. You can look back at your actions and take pride that you had a hand in it!!

We should be expending our appropriately directed energy however we damn please! US Citizens votes should count!

If it's over then why are you still shouting?

        • Posted By: ginamlaster @ 05/31/2008 12:13:44 AM

Because you people appear to be hard of hearing these all-important words: He won, she lost, IT'S OVER!!!

Here here! Very well put. I just wish the mainstream, powerful dems were reading this. Especially Hillary. Maybe then, she'd get a clue.

I just love hearing you liberals tear at each other with the same fervor that your attack machine goes after the Republicans. Many of you make valid points, but most of you are self centered, and if your "Hillary" isn't allowed to change the rules and, therefore, loses the nomination, it is an affront to all women.
This isn't about Hillary........It isn't about women..........It is about the CLINTONS, and their selfish desire for power that will tear your party up.

Hate to admit it dude, because I fiercely defended Bill all the way through the Monica impeachment thing. But you guys were totally right about the Clintons. I'll be big enough to admit it for all of those who can't. Where is Ken Starr when you need him? I've gotta hand it to you as a hardcore democrat. You neocons had their number from the jump. You tried to warn us that they were evil, power-hungry, and would say and do anything to hold on to power, and that she was a satanic cast-iron bi*ch who if she could, would turn the white house into her permanent home. But we didn't listen. WE DIDN'T LISTEN!!! AAAARRGHHHHH! Now, exactly as you say, they're tearing our party apart. So you win that one. You were right. We were wrong.

The bright side of this whole thing is that she lost and both our parties will finally be free of this harpy and her whoring husband once and for all. So don't you worry about us democrats. We'll be just fine...and we're going to beat you in November.

There are more woman than men in the American population. It's interesting to see how the Democratic Party is willing stiffle the voice of America's super majority in deals made behind closed doors ... I didn't think they had in them!
