Never mind the two states involved accept Obama's offer and consider it fair. If it won't give Hillary the opportunity to get more free press coverage crying how it's unfair (to her) now that she needs these votes, nothing will work. She intends to take this to the convention and undermine Obama's chances to win in November. It's always all about Hillary. She's running the party into the ditch so she can get her foot in she hopes in '12. Well, for all those of you who say "I will never vote for a Black, oops, "that man," I can tell you I will never vote for that witch, opps, Hillary. When she tries to run in '12, I will do everything I can to make sure she fails to win. I happen to live in Texas. I was a precinct delegate to county caucus. Everything was honest and open. I was there. I know. Oh, well, except for the two or three precinct leaders who tried to railroad things --both Clinton people--and those two precincts are being contested at the state convention next week. Losing is not an excuse for being dishonest.

      • Posted By: leighg1 @ 05/30/2008 9:46:32 PM

you are the one who should shut up. Obama won this thing fair and square. He beat two Clintons with their vast establishment, and he can beat McCain in Nov. Sour loser.

  • Posted By: kurosawaquilter @ 05/30/2008 8:10:19 PM

Since when did havin hope=being unable to think for oneself? How wonderfully and totally illogical. You prove your case in reverse.

Here's the point: Hillary has lost the primary race. She can do the right thing, or she can bang her fists and head on the floor, whine, and bellow how unfair everything is that was fair when Bill ran, but suddenly now, just isn't. Everything comes down to how she is fighting for the little women in the U.S.--all over the world in fact. I'm dead center in her demographics; I find her a total lie and embarrassment. Hillary Clinton if she had any character or judgment, would be ashamed of herself. She's done nothng to help the women she claims to be out there fighting for. All she's doing is taking their money and helping JOhn McCain continue the war that has sent over 1,600 soldiers home without arms to hold their moms with, and rising rates of suicide. How sad is THAT!
Oh, one reason Obama didn't get his many many bills made into law is because so many older Senators sat on them in their committees. I take it the posters here do understand how the Senate committee work? Yes?

    • Posted By: News and Notes @ 05/30/2008 10:47:52 PM

As of now neither Hillary nor Obama have won the nomination.

  • Posted By: kshortSD @ 05/30/2008 5:26:03 PM

How can Hillary claim that she is being discriminated against, then ask for special treatment because she is a woman? Sounds contradictory to me...

Sour Apples! Both agreed to NOT accept Fla and MI, and Clinton even voted so, end of story! Nice to know who is going to help put McCain in office though, so much for DEMOCRATIC VALUES!! THAT'S WHAT THEY say THEY ARE PROTESTING RIGHT? Sour grapes! Deal with it, as is, and lets trash McCain!

sure, when you vote in november lets not count it because we know your candidate will lose. Thats what the DNC did

The only reason Obama wants no part of counting the Florida and Michigan vote is because he knows that it will be a turning point for him. Hillary who has bashed by everyone especially the media has the popular vote and the overall demographics to win the nomination. She can carry the bigger states and win the electoral votes. Obama just can't!!! He really needs a reality check if he thinks that he will beat McCain in November. Hillary can!!

thank you andrew9 and nepomucena. as a floridian who would have voted for obama (had she thought her vote would count!) - i had an interesting chat with an old pal of mine. he said (paraphrased) 'all those stupid people who voted for bush and destroyed this country - f**k them... i'm not getting my taxes raised to support them.'
okay. i don't agree - but it's an interesting thought.
and on my part - anyone who can't see that we need a serious change in this country - that we need hope and someone who leads our country whom we can be proud of - that person is not, and has never been, hillary clinton.
i CANNOT understand how she thinks breaking the rules (that she previously agreed to) would in any way lead to a bringing together of anyone...
furthermore, if her actions prove to weaken the democratic party and succeed in handing john mccain the nomination - i will sit back and watch my tax break get better as every person earning less gets their taxes raised and their sons get drafted to iraq.

You didnt vote, bust most Florida democrats did. Your Hillary bashing and advocating for the DNC's over reaching punishment will not convince Hillary supporters in Florida to vote for Obama in November if he is the nominee

  • Posted By: seti2008 @ 05/30/2008 9:07:48 PM

Another ellipses: "White" women's group. Lots of women, especially minority women didn't vote for Clinton. Ar their votes to count, also? If Obama had bee a white man, this nomination process would be over.

    • Posted By: News and Notes @ 05/30/2008 10:38:16 PM

a majority of non-african american women voted for Hillary. Also, a significant number of black women have voted for hillary also.

    • Posted By: flatnip @ 05/30/2008 9:26:59 PM

Your right, If Obama were a white man he wouldn't have made it past North Carolina! He wasn't qualified then and not now, But than again , I guess you were not needing someone who is qualified.

      • Posted By: seti2008 @ 05/30/2008 9:51:49 PM

He would have been nominated after Super Tuesday. Clinton and McCain are no more qualified. So McCain was drafted into the military. Almost everyone who drafted serves. Further, there is no relationship between time served in office and a good presidency. Some of our best presidents served little time in office while some of our worst had a long resume.

Okay, no rules then. The states should be able to trample all over the process. A free for all. The Democratic Pary would cave in like a house of cards. I'm so tired of hearing about the poor voters who won't have their votes count. What about all the voters who didn't bother to go to the pols because they were told their votes wouldn't count. Is it okay to now tell them that sorry you missed out but we changed our minds. This entire discussion is juvenile.

    • Posted By: leighg1 @ 05/30/2008 9:53:50 PM

Are you talking about Clinton? She supported and signed to abide by the rules.

  • Posted By: jordy68 @ 05/30/2008 9:36:52 PM

Oh please, the MSM spent 2 months bashing Obama on Wright and the "bitter" comment while they left Hillary alone. There has been no sexism --just boomer women expect that she should be president . What a shameful bunch of wackos trying to play the sexism card--that's a flat out LIE and they know it! Now they are going to try and cloak their version of "democracy" because they are SO concerned about the "will of the people" except for the people in the caucus states. What

    • Posted By: News and Notes @ 05/30/2008 10:37:18 PM

Now Father Pfleger picked up where Wright left off. What kind of radical church is Trinity? What kind of radical is Obama?

I am a woman over the age of 50 and I am truly amazed at these women protesting the fact that HRC should be th Dem. nominee. Are you really that hard up to have a woman president that you will accept anyone? After all the tricks, lies, race and sexism cards, this woman who has no integrity, has played during this campaign, YOU WANT HER TO REPRESENT YOU IN THE WHITE HOUSE. She is not qualified, her experience if you want to call it that, (ask her constituents in New York what they think of her and how she has not worked for them) is at best based on what her husband did. Please remember Bill Clinton is not running. And to those of you who say that Obama is not qualifed, give some examples of why he is not?

    • Posted By: News and Notes @ 05/30/2008 10:36:16 PM

nobody is going to convince you, so what is the point?

  • Posted By: an obama girl @ 05/30/2008 10:12:28 PM

Hillary will not win this election. Not because she is a women. Because she is a lier!

This 50 year old white female is ashamed of women who think they should get their way not because their candidate won but because they are women and think that whinning will help them.

Hillary ran her entire campaign on her husband's record as President. I want to see a women as President one day too. One that earns the position on her own record. Ie: Nancy Pelosi! Now there is a REAL women!

    • Posted By: News and Notes @ 05/30/2008 10:34:03 PM

thats how Obama will win over hillary supporters. By insulting them. For a candidate who pretends to be a uniter, his supporters are very divisive

  • Posted By: SeanK @ 05/30/2008 7:02:04 PM

Looks like Hillary needs George Bush's help, how to steal an election, or use the fuzzy math.
What a shame, rules dont mean anything, but then we are talking about the Clintons, breaking rules and having it their way is family business.

    • Posted By: pramono @ 05/30/2008 7:16:01 PM

The same people who claim that rules are rules are the same people who in 2000 demonstrated when the supream court followed the law (stronger than rules) and awarded the election to bush.

What level of hypocracy is displayed by OBAMA and his followers. But no wonder, what can you expect from Communists???

No comparison. The votes from Florida were votes gathered from a legitimate election. Yes, it was a travesty that those votes were not clearly counted.

The votes we are talking about here are votes gathered from an illegitimate election. To suggest that you can first tell voters that if they do bother to vote, their votes will not be used to seat delegates and later say they will and the results will be the same if people had voted under normal circumstances is ludicrous. No unbiased person with any brains at all, could truly believe that. It makes a mockery of our election process.

  • Posted By: 40yr old typical white dude in NC @ 05/30/2008 10:14:16 PM

Interesting how Rosemary totally ignores the question about Hillary not giving a rat's ass when the delegates were stripped, but now she does. Just another delusional, radical Hillary fundamentalist, who can't see through their own blood-lust over their entitled one.

IF you had done ANY research on SENATE.ORG you would have seen that he has done NOTHING since being in office and last time I looked he was in the top 7 of Senators missing the call for votes. How is that for representation. You Obamabots simply have nothing to base your decisions on. I have asked EVERY BO supporter I have run into WHY they are voting for him. Not one could give me an answer other than his speeches. How sad it that? And how stupid!!

Hillary should not give up. If she does lose the nomination to Obama - Perhaps she should run as VP with McCain since the Democrats don't want her. This would virtually assure Obama won't get the presidency.

    • Posted By: ginamlaster @ 05/30/2008 10:25:37 PM

No it won't, and it's pathetic that you would even think this is a possibility. Here's why:

      A) She's invested a great many years in the DNC building up her power base. She and Bill aren't going to just walk away from that; and

      B) THE REPUBLICANS HATE HER GUTS!!! Her and Bill both. Weren't you paying attention during Bill's impeachment hearings? The very mention of her name sends them into fits of misogynistic hate. That's why they want her to win the nomination so badly. They know that NOTHING will mobilize the party to vote republican more than the idea of a Clinton getting back into office. If she wins the nom, McCain is the new president. Period!

Why do you think Rush Limbaugh of ALL people organized Operation Chaos to get her nominated? Because he's suddenly had a change of heart about the Clintons? No way. Their party is imploding and the only way to save it is to give them an opponent they hate so much that republicans HAVE to vote their party. They're terrified of Obama. If he wins, they don't see power again for at least another generation.

I'm despairing that the Party will not come together in time for the GE. Definitley August will be too late to began the healing/uniting process, but now I'm thinking June will be too.

    • Posted By: ginamlaster @ 05/30/2008 10:14:24 PM

Don't despair. No, the party will not come together in time for the GE, but for every Hillary defector, there are at least 10 republicans voting democratic because they love America too much to vote for their own party. Now that McClellan's tell-all book verifies all the damage that the people they elected have done to the country and he's even willing to testify under oath to its validity, the decent people among them are going to have a really hard time justifying continuing support of their party. Even Rupert Murdoch, owner of Fox News has admitted that he believes Obama will win in a landslide.

I'd love to see a united party too. But the truth is that all the threats and chest thumping about voting McCain if Hillary doesn't win may be moot. Given the implosion of the GOP, the reality is that their votes probably won't be needed to put a democrat back into office. They may be the only people voting for McCain.

    • Posted By: News and Notes @ 05/30/2008 5:21:38 PM

I'm a (43 year old female) Floridian who did not vote in the primary b/c I was told my vote would not count. I thoroughly resent Clinton's brazen disregard for anything that might get in the way of her personal gain. As an ex-New Yorker (who did *not* vote for Clinton in the senate and would have voted for Obama in the primary) I'd like to paraphrase Lloyd Bentsen: 'Senator Clinton, you're no Robert Kennedy...'

This is not a difficult decision, seat Florida and Michigan and award the delegates on the basis of the votes cast. Pretty simple. However should the party leadership and super delegates screw this just process, then their candidate gets screwed in November. As a Hillary Democrat, I am sickened by the actions since day one of this party and will have nothing to do with it. Should Hillary be the party's nominee, I shall vote for Hillary as the first Woman President of the United States of America. After all, what other choice is there. Hillary has the experience, record of accomplishment, and the trust of the American people. The party leadership and super delegates have Free Ride hung around their necks and cannot seem to shake him loose. Now, the second pastor comes into view; as a member of that church, I call for defrocking this thing.

    • Posted By: summer1216 @ 05/30/2008 4:50:30 PM

People are forgetting also that If they reward Florida and Michigan for jumping ahead with their primaries, they will lose complete control of the primary process and the Democratic party will be in chaos for years to come.

      • Posted By: News and Notes @ 05/30/2008 5:19:36 PM

That's not true. Florida and Michigan have been the laughing stock of the nation and the world for more than four months now. There is not a state or territory in the union who would ever want to go through that again

        • Posted By: ginamlaster @ 05/30/2008 10:06:47 PM

Actually, Florida at least has been the laughing stock of the nation since 2000 and the case of the hanging chads. Don't get me wrong. It's a beautiful state and I love the people, but they really need to vote out their entire state legislature and start over from scratch. It's eight years later and still Florida can't run an honest election. Instead of being mad at the DNC, the people of Florida should be embarrassed and demanding the heads of their state legislators. Instead, Gov. Charlie Crist is now being considered for the repub VP. How's that for justice?

        • Posted By: kshortSD @ 05/30/2008 5:49:57 PM
