We have a group of 1000 democrats in central Florida that will protest in November by voting republican in November if all our votes do not count correctly in the primary. Central florida is a key section of the state for a win in November.

I find some comments a little naive on the Michigan and Florida vote. They talk about counting every vote, but what about the people that didn't vote because they were told their votes wouldn't count? What about the people that voted uncommited? And in Florida's case what about the non-homeowners that didn't vote? You can't just say count what's there. That's not fair or resonable.

I understand but I don't have great hope. But it is not historic. MLK inspired millions. So have other leaders, good and bad. But we have to be careful and separate rhetoric with fact. No one, Obama included, is going to effect change without the AMERICAN people rising up and doing something. We are a spoiled nation now. A good recession or depression would remiond us just how tough life can be. We drive around talking on cell phones, have 50 inch flat screen t.v.'s with 200 cable channels, food at every store and *** about our economy. We take soooo much for granted and if we had to give up some of this to effect change I doubt many Americans would. That is what is a problem to me about Obama. He almost seems like a Hollywood character. Almost too perfect. I think he will be the next Prez (assuming something really bad doesn't come out during the election cycle) but I hope we don't build him up so much that we get incredib;y disappointed when and if he falls short. America IS a short term memory nation with a what have you done for me lately mentality. That is what I am saying.

As of today, Obama has 1984 delegates and Clinton has 1782. There are 88 delegates in the three remaining primaries. Let's split those delegates 50/50, just for the sake of argument, since Obama is expected to landslide by 25 points in Montana, Hillary to win Puerto Rico by at least 12 points, and Obama to win by 7 points in S. Dakota. Since PR has more delegates than MT or SD, we will split 50/50 to reflect that.
So, adding 44 to today's totals gives Obama 2,028 and Clinton 1,826. Now, some scenarios on how to split the FL and MI delegates:
Scenario One: The DNC splits the delegates 50/50 in both states, netting 152 delegates for each candidate. That brings Obama to 2,180 and Clinton to 1,978.
Scenario Two: The DNC gives Clinton 2/3 of the delegates and Obama 1/3, netting 203 delegates for Clinton and 101 for Obama. Note that this is MORE delegates than Clinton "won" in the popular vote in both states. From Obama's point of view, this would be a worst-case scenario. That bring Obama to 2,131 and Clinton to 2,029.
Right now, the number of delegates needed to win the nomination is 2,026, which Obama will have on Tuesday, after the last primary. That number is the number needed if you don't count FL and MI. If they do count FL and MI, the number of delegates needed will be higher, but the highest possible number is 2,120, if they count both states. Look at the FL & MI scenarios above. Even in Scenario Two, where we gave Clinton more delegates than she won, Obama still gets the nomination, with 2,131 delegates.
Knowing that the Democratic primary is delegate based (not popular vote based) I have been watching the delegate counts for the past three months. It has been obvious to me for about 6 weeks that no matter what Hillary does, she can not win the amount of delegates she needs to get the nomination.
Incidentally, my numbers above do not include the votes of the 190 remaining uncommitted superdelegates. We can add those too, if you like. As of today, Obama has 323 of the 607 committed superdelegates, and Clinton has 284. So far, Obama has 53% of the committed supers, and Clinton has 47%. Split the remaining supers 53/47, Obama gets 101 more supers and Clinton gets 89, giving a delegate total of 2,232 for Obama and 2,118 to Clinton. Which is still a win for Obama, without Clinton even touching the "magic number."
Realistically though, Clinton got all of her supers before Super Tuesday. At that time, she led Obama by more than 100 supers. Obama has not only caught up, but surpassed her by 40 supers, many of whom were former Clinton supporters. So it is unlikely that if the supers voted today they would split 53% Obama to 47% Clinton. Probably more than 53% would go to Obama. But we will give Clinton the benefit of the doubt, as I have throughout al of these calculations. The fact is, even if you count everything in her favor, she still has lost.

I just don't understand how it is that Hillary was perfectly OKAY with the rules back when she agreed to them in august but after the race tightened up and she was no longer the "inevitable" winner there is a problem? Whether or not the rules are fair or right is not what is in question here. the fact that these were the AGREED UPON rules going into the nomination process, they must be followed. RULES ARE RULES for a reason. If they back down now, we are no better than Bush and his administration.
My wife and my mother both voted for Obama. I live in Florida but was in NY when the primaries were being held. The both voted Obama in NY - Hillary's state. I was not allowed to vote because I am an independent. If you want to talk about having ALL VOICES heard - let's have all states aloow Independents to vote in primaries. why is it fair for them to vote in one state and not another??? I'll tell you why, THOSE ARE THE RULES!!!! Sure I would have loved to cast my vote and I knew going in I could not vote in NY, but I stand by my principles and refuse to take a side and join one of the "two" options we apparently have. I am a complicated man and you cannot lump me into a poltical category as I do not believe either Party acts under the principles in which they were founded. so I act as an AMERICAN not a dem or repub.
I digress though and focus back to my point that rules are rules and it has nothing to do with sexism. As I said, my wife and mother both voted Obama - so exactly how is it that women's voices are not being heard when not all women support Hillary and not all women think as one and to think that men only vote Obama because we're sexist, is about as sexist a thought you could have!-

OBAMA is a typical graduate of Harvard University; a Harvard graduate thinks that he knows a lot, with a few exceptions, most of them are arrogant with very little knowledge. The advantage of John F. Kennedy over OBAMA was that he knew his limitations, thus he surrounded himself with an outstanding group of individuals who helped him in formulating the correct courses of action. OBAMA on the other hand does not have an idea what are his limitations, only a Manic-depressive person could declare that he has extensive foreign affairs experience that is based on the fact that he spent his kindergarten years in Indonesia, and that he spent a summer vacation in Pakistan ???which makes him an expert???. I travel a lot and have spent lots of time in over 50 countries, sometimes several months in each visit. My IQ is probably double of OBAMAs, and still I will not dare to declare that I am an expert especially when dealing with Arab/Muslim countries. For OBAMA to declare it simply demonstrates an unbelievable level of arrogance, and frankly stupidity!! The situation looks more dangerous when you take into consideration the people who take key positions in his campaign advising him on foreign policy issues.

I am not a supporter of the current President Bush, but I travel a lot in Arab/Muslim countries and discuss the situation with my hosts and people in the streets, one element that comes up in the discussions repeatedly, is Bush ???Overreaction??? to the 9-11 terrorist attack, (overreaction in the eyes of the Arabs, not mine), this leads to an attitude of ???don???t mess with him and the USA, he overreacts so let???s wait for the next President who might be softer and on whom we can test new approaches???, they will not do it with McCain or Clinton, as they know what reaction to expect, but they will try it with OBAMA as he is a tabula Rasa for them. WHY DO WE NEED TO TAKE THAT RISK, LET HIM DEVELOP AN INTERNATIONAL HISTORY SO THAT WE AND OUR ENEMIES KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT FROM AN OBAMA.

Ahmadi-Nejad explodes his first Bomb; he now has that itchy finger on the button as long as the mullahs stay in power. The Middle East goes wild --- with abject fear among the Saudis, and loud celebrations among terror supporters. The day of revenge against the Jews and the Crusaders has finally arrived.
What would President Obama do? He has only two basic options.
Option One
Stick with his electoral promises, fly to Tehran, and "talk to the mullahs." What will the mullahs wish to talk about, after talking up the glory of martyrdom warfare for thirty years? For three decades the daily chant was "Death to America! Death to Israel!" The Left is sure the Khomeini cultists can't possibly mean that. But now they are faced with a 15-minute warning time if the mullahs do mean what they've been telling us since 1979.
Maybe the mullahs will ask President Obama how high the US will jump? How quickly will the Saudi royals get out of Arabia and give it to the Khomeini cult, which is convinced that it has the historic right to the two holy cities of Mohammed? How long until the price of oil doubles? And, Mr. President, you get those US Navy ships out of the Gulf of Imam Khomeini, right now. Or else we will swarm your Navy ships with fleets of gunboats and see who blinks first. Martyrdom is glorious.
Call Option One the Jimmy Carter option. With Carter's advisor Zbig Brzezinski back in favor, President Obama will be hearing a lot about that one.
If you think the price of oil is high today, wait 'til the Middle East catches fire. The Caliphate of Iran wants every other nation to "bow down to the greatness of Iran," as Ahmadi-Nejad likes to put it. With a Bomb, they can sway the OPEC monopoly. Would the Saudis resist Iranian pressure, 50 miles from their shore? Europe will try to feed the hungry crocodile lots of goodies, hoping it will eat them last. But Israel may not be inclined to become croc food, and they have an estimated 200 nukes. Thirty years ago Prime Minister Golda Meir was prepared to use them as a last resort. With their backs against the wall, they may have no choice. So Option One means trouble.
The Saudis don't have nuclear weapons (yet), but they can buy them from Pakistan. If they are afraid of Iran's itchy finger, they will, and who can blame them? Arab and Sunni pride will demand a Bomb for Egypt and Syria. If everybody else can have one, why not Libya again? If the US is not willing to protect Arab nations against Iranian aggression, they will find a more bloody-minded protector like Russia. Vladimir Putin will be happy to oblige, for a price.
So let's hope your advisors have read up on the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1964, Mr. President, because soon we're going to see it again.-

Flip the bird to your lifelong friends on the Left and reverse all their foreign policy ideas. Send several battle groups within striking distance of Tehran. Beef up our forces next door, in Iraq, the Gulf and Afghanistan. Get serious with the Russians to pull their engineers out of Iranian nuclear plants. Block North Korean help for A'jad's Bomb. Stop German companies like Siemens from selling advanced electronic gear to the mullahs. Turn Syria around, to isolate Iran's proxy armies in Lebanon and Gaza. Mount more state-of-the-art missile defenses on Aegis war ships --- we have 82 of them, a formidable world-wide missile defense if we ever decide to use them. Finally, build up US troop numbers.
And then let the New York Times go into hysterics.
Call Option Two the "George W. Bush strategy." Or if you don't like that, it also happens to be the Wilson-FDR-JFK-LBJ-Truman strategy. It used to be standard Democrat foreign policy, before the Dems turned hard left after 1968.
So which one -- the Carter Option or the W Option -- do you think President Obama will choose? With Iran pointing a loaded gun at the world, and thousands of Basiji marching in the streets, all praying to become martyrs, there is not much ground for coming together and finding hope.
Presidents have to make real decisions with real consequences. So far, Obama hasn't shown any willingness to make hard choices, even in his political campaigns. He wants to be the messiah, but without renouncing bad characters like Rezko or Wright or Ayers. Like Bill Clinton, he's great at having his cake and eating it, too.
Since the Left has been completely wrong about foreign policy since Jimmy Carter, they are very poorly equipped even to think about an Iranian Bomb. That's why they keep denying that there's any real problem with nuke proliferation. And yet it's rushing straight at us, like that roaring locomotive in the tunnel.
I'm just curious. Charles Krauthammer just pointed out that the Left has made it impossible to act preemptively against rogues with nukes. When Iran explodes its Bomb, will the Left apologize for being wrong about national security for decades? Will the CIA apologize for its wretched failures, one after the other, to warn about life-threatening dangers?-

The reason they did not help us with Iraq was because there was no justification behind attacking Iraq at the time we attacked them. I think the US should have a national draft and service requirement. If these far left whakos were to ever serve in uniform either Army, Marine, Navy or, gods help us, Air force they would have a totaly different concept of reality. They would finally get it that the world we live in isn't all roses and sunshine, and there are people out there that want to kill us just because we are Americans. You can't talk to these people. You can't talk to any religious nut job no matter what religion they preach. how many times have people talked to Wright and he still think Whitey is responsible for every ill against blacks.

IT IS NOT HE PERSONALLY, BUT WHAT HE PRESENTS, A CANDIDATE WITHOUT A HISTORY TO RELY ON.
A Month ago I was discussing with a Republican friend, the different candidates their advantages and disadvantages; he mentioned that OBAMA is compared by his followers to John F. Kennedy. I mentioned that even Kennedy had his bay of Pigs, but the republican reacted ???Yes, but see how Kennedy handled the Cuban Missile crisis???, I thought for minute and said ???can you imagine the Soviets moving missiles into Cuba during, Truman, Eisenhower, Nixon, Reagan, Bush, or Clinton????, He thought and said ???you are right, they would have not taken the risk, knowing how they will handle such a crisis???.
The fact that Kennedy was a young candidate without a proven history in Foreign affairs, encouraged the Russian Leaders to take the risk and test him. In their view they have been irresponsible not to test him. It also means that if Stalin would have been the Russian leader at that point in time he wouldn???t have backed off, with all the implications of a military confrontation.
It is exactly the same situation with OBAMA, he is a candidate without any history in International affairs. The North Korean, Iran, Syria, China, Russia, Pakistan, Chavez, Al Quida, will be irresponsible (in their view) not to test him. Especially after the Naïve and shifting positions he took during the primaries process. Such tests imply only additional danger to the world, as no one knows exactly what will be the reaction of the other side. OBAMA might react correctly, but he might also make mistakes that will have catastrophic results.

Hussein Obama is either (1)Muslim or (2)Apostate. There is no other answer. Even the NYTimes did an article called...President Apostate. He was absolutely raised muslim. Obama went to the Jakarta, your so-called muslim school when he was 6 and was put there because it was the ONLY school in Indonesia, he was determined by the school to be muslim becasue that is what his step-father at the time had supposedly been, no one ever asked Obama nor did they care, because it was not a Muslim school. There were, in fact, children of all religions attending and they did not just teach about the muslim beliefs. He had no choice and was just a kid. When I was a kid I was made to go to Catholic school, for which I then grew up realizing how much crap they spew. Obama was not raised a muslim, He was raised by his WHITE mother, and WHITE grandmother (not that it should even matter, but your ignorance shows I need to clarify this for you to feel warm and fuzzy), in rural WHITE Kansas. He then moved to Hawaii where he went to school and was raised in what we consider our MOST ACCEPTING and DIVERSE state in the union, however, even there, he experiecned racism by those who fear what is different from them. At no time was Obma a muslim. EVER! The "proof" that was used to support this in that email you are quoting was a kid who was between 6-8 yrs old at the time and didn't know the difference because he was a KID when he "knew" Obama - He has since stated that he really isn't sure about what religion Obama was because they were kids and didn't care about that stuff, but that he just remembers Obama being at that school with him, along with hundreds of other children from different race, creed, and color. Its something that the Obama supporter can't fathom, that someone doesn't like him. They feel that anyone that doesn't like Obama has to be racist, stupid or against progress. That or they are Republicans, even worse.
The fact that half the Democratic party so far has voted for Clinton over Obama they see as heresy.
They will keep their collective head in the sand then in Jan when McCain is sworn in, they will still be blaming Clinton for everything Obama did wrong.
No one forced Obama to attend that Church, but it shows that he has bad character judgment.
No one forced Obama to make that land deal with Rezko, but it again shows bad judgment.
Obama can't seem to make up his mind as to what Foreign Policy he wants, he has to wait for the next poll to help him make that decision.
I really can't wait to see the Presidential Debates when all the news networks have a go at McCain and Obama.
You know MSNBC will throw softballs at Obama and everything they can at McCain, I still think McCain will be the winner. What I really can't wait for is when FOX News does their Debate. Obama will look like a fool in front of the entire nation, they will see the emporer has no clothes. Perhaps that will galvinize support from the fringe that will think they are picking on him, but more and more voters will see that Obama is all talk and no substance.-

Not fear mongering... just the sad state we find ourselves in. I would like to believe that ANYONE could change Washington and that Americans would be looked after. I want to see change. But can you mention a time, since 1960, that Americans have been looked after over corporations? Why wasn't healthcare given the same priority as Welfare and Medicaid? Why haven't we been working on fuel alternatives since 1976? Why has everything gotten so desparate in the US? Facts...not fear mongering. If Obama wins, let us see where we are in 4 years. If he is able to make great changes then I will be a) a very happy AMerican and b) admit I was wrong about politics. I believe in Obama the man, as well as his beliefs. But reality is what reality is.

Obama has showed what a Presidential candidate should be. He has been calm under intense pressure. He has showed that he can be honest with the voters. Hillary, the 12 time scandal queen who made 1000 dollars become 100,000 dollars. Who is she, Jesus Christ? He lies have cost her this election and I do pray that she will support Obama for the White House and I do hope that she get those women who don't really care for a man, but just want a woman in the White House so that they can have there way, support Obama. She needs to get ready for her Peter Paul case. She did have it thrown out by one of Bill Clinton's appointed judges, but it will be overturned by he appeal courts. Can't wait to see her in pinstripes.

I still don't understand where the perceived gender-bias has been in this election other than Hillary's campaign painting it that way. I am a woman and a staunch independent because I am sick and tired of the Rovian politics that I have seen in both the Democratic party and the Republican party. And I do not support Hillary Clinton because not only did her husband's administration display Rovian behavior, but it has been even more apparent in her campaign. Someday a woman will run for president and win because she will be worthy on her own terms and in a principled way because she wants to serve the people more than trying to win at all costs. Hillary may have a principled reason for wanting to win, but I will only trust someone who puts their principles before ???politics.???

Obviously, by your post, you seem to think that women should be kept barefoot and pregnant. You need to wake up to current events. Women have been in the workforce for many years now and still, on average, do not earn what their male counterparts do. When women do manage to break into management positions, she must still out perform her male counterpart while receiving less recognition for a job well done. Until there is equity in pay and in expectations, there remains a need for a "feminist" political agenda. I for one beliege in the Equaal Rights Amendment and believe in equal rights and responsibilities for women.

And Economically. It will not happen.

You do not have to like Barack Obama; nobody has to, but I am willing to take him at his word and give him the benefit of the doubt. I want someone who will be practical and willing to listen to all parties, but you seem to be one of those people that trust no one and think your ideas are the only right ones. Your language is unacceptable, immature, and paranoid. Anyway, do you really think someone who is a secret Manchurian candidate would actually stick to a name that is obviously as easy to make fun of as you are doing, or would he or she try to hide his identity? I was raised with Southern manners and Christian principles, the golden rule, etc., and to talk the way you and others are that does not address issues but speaks in terms of paranoia, meanness, and facetious supposition is ill-mannered. Too many Republicans and Democrats complain about the other party attacking in a personal manner rather than in a principled manner, yet both are happy to continue doing so. I am so glad to be an independent.
