It's close. If Tony the Syrian cops a plea bargain, Hussein may be indicted, by the end of summer. I can hardly wait. It's like a child waiting on Santa.

Oh, and your boss at FoxNews, Rupert Murdoch, announced his support for Obama a few days ago.

You must be crying yourself to sleep.

The words indictment and wrong doing should come from anyons supporting Sen. Clinton. Think why do you think Republicans like Rush Limbaugh want hillary in the race do your research and look at the Clinton's past. Believe the Republicans have.

        • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 05/31/2008 1:21:21 PM

Don't you remember "Democrats for a Day?" Where Obama wanted GOP to change party registration so that they could vote for him if only for that day to help beat hillary.

          • Posted By: Nins @ 05/31/2008 1:30:05 PM

Zombie, you made that up, and a few days ago when you started posting it, everybody jumped in and disproved it, and showed how the e-mail memo you were referring to was a fake.

What is true, however, is that Rush Limbaugh asked Republicans to vote for Clinton in Texas. We know this happened because Rush announced it on TV, and the exit polls reflected it. Even with the help of "Operation Chaos" Clinton won the Texas primary by only 1%, and she LOST the Texas caucus by about 10%.

Check Sen. Clinton's reported work for a law firm that represented the Communist Party. That is why those lawyers are calling Sen. Clinton a hypocrite for criticizing Sen. Obama for being on a board with a former weatherman (who had not been convicted) to which had no control over choosing Ayers. By the way President Clinton pardoned two convicted former weathermen.

DNC - listen up, you need to fix the nominating process in our party.

But first, honor the rules you've established for this round of play. Don't allow the senator from NY to whine her way to the nomination - President or Vice President.

those who say that won't vote for Obama - never would have anyway - they are either blatant or closet Republicans.

But no Democratic will win without the support of dyed in the wool, worn out soles from block walking, activists.

And we are all behind OBAMA.

Listen carefully - it's gotta be over today for hrc. lower case intended - she's small - so is her campaign. small indeed.

The fact of the matter is that this is bigger then some stupid rules. Voting should be a universal civil right and how dare the democratic party decide that some people's votes shouldn't count. The whole idea of certain states having more power then others is crap! There should be a national primary day where all registered democrats vote on the same day in a secret ballot. None of this caucus crap. The DNC has shown to me to be the ultimate hypocrite. All the votes from Florida need to count was what they said in 2000. Now we're being told none of their votes should count? Apparently the DNC has taking election tips from Mugabe the DICTATOR of Zimbabwe. Democratic party my A S S.

    • Posted By: Timj @ 05/30/2008 4:40:22 PM

Again, more encouragement for unity in the party by Hillary supporters. If you all have not guessed by now, I am a Conservative Republican. I love your pit-bull tactics with each other, and your desire to tear your own party apart if you do not get your way.
Won't you all look pretty silly when John McCain is being sworn in?!?!?

      • Posted By: valadezaj @ 05/30/2008 4:49:38 PM

I say good! I HATE Obama! If Hillary can't be the nominee then McCain it is! I will campaign for him. :)

        • Posted By: AjaxRasputin @ 05/30/2008 4:55:47 PM

Obviously your voting methodolgy is not based on the individual candidates' policies since if Clinton isn't the nominee, you are voting for McCain. McCain is the polar opposite of Clinton in most policies while Obama and Clinton are very similar in most.

Let me guess, you vote for the candidate who you would like to have a beer with, right? Brilliant!!

          • Posted By: valadezaj @ 05/30/2008 5:04:48 PM

Even if I voted for Obama I'm sure the DNC will simply say my vote doesn't count. I was thinking that even if I wasn't going to vote for Obama I would at least vote for democrats in other areas i.e. the house and senate. But I'm wondering if I should even bother. Why vote for a party that can decide my vote won't count? When this is all over I'm going to seriously look in to making a 3rd party. And you can be damed sure my party WILL count everyone's votes.

            • Posted By: AjaxRasputin @ 05/31/2008 1:27:30 PM

valadezaj, your logic seems inconsistant at best. You already stated that if Hillary isn't the nominee, then you will vote for McCain rather then Obama. That statement implies that you will vote for Hillary if she is nominated. When I called you out on how you obviously aren't voting based on the candidate's platforms, you conveniently change the subject to how you may vote for a third party since the DNC rules bother you. Reading between the lines, this has nothing to do with your grievances toward the DNC rules, but more likely to do with you getting your way - that being Hillary as the nominee or nothing.

Furthermore, you don't know if Florida and Michigan votes will be discounted since a decision hasn't been made yet. You are clearly making an assumption. I suppose that you don't believe their should be structure in our voting system. Would it be a problem for you if two major states decided to hold voting on September 5th for the general election rather than November 5th in an attempt to sway the election based on those two state's demographics?

Rules are there for a reason. I suppose in "your world" breaking rules yields no consequences.

            • Posted By: News and Notes @ 05/30/2008 5:16:54 PM

well stated. Obama supporters should be shouting the loudest when it comes to counting votes and delegates in FL and MI. That way he would have more credibility if he were nominated

              • Posted By: callmehandy64 @ 05/30/2008 7:14:30 PM

If Obama had it his way, only votes cast for Obama would count. He had his opponents thrown off of the ballot in Illinois using the rules. The people had no one to vote for but Obama. If the party rules are more important than the actual votes for candidates and voters they presumeable represent, what does that say about the party?

              • Posted By: revjmike @ 05/30/2008 7:13:46 PM

First of all, remember, Republicans already took away votes in Florida, too.

Second, no matter what they do to rectify the voting situation it is flawed. It would be outrageous to give Clinton all the votes in Michigan, for example, since she was the only candidate on the ballot. I personally believe at least a few people would have voted for Obama there.

This is all about Hillary and nothing to do with voters' rights.

Republicans lost the Congress and Senate in 2006. They lost three special elections since 2006. If that is what you call winning, how do you define losing?

    • Posted By: tedious898 @ 05/30/2008 6:52:08 PM

This should provide some explanation about voter intellect being at all time low levels. This type of ignorance provides fertile ground for unscrupulous candidates to manipulate the rather large population of those less educated...primarily.... Clinton supporters. There is no legal precedent for how votes are counted in primaries. However, it is illegal to disenfranchise voters during a general election. Though these supporters are uneducated, they are still Americans nonetheless. Hopefully they will see McSame is not a viable option if their candidate does not receive the nomination.

The rules are the rules, if Florida and Michigan had followed the rules they would be the queen or king maker but their jealousy of Iowa burnt them. I have no sympathy for Hillary whom acknowledged those two states were not to count until she saw she is not as electable as she was assured. For the Clinton supporters whom want to help the GOP because their lady is loosing fair and square. You cave into these hysterics and we get get kaos. hysteric

While Hillary is talking about sexism, I have a few questions.

Once Hillary becomes president, is she going to stop sexual discrimination in the Military Draft?

I ask you, why must my son register for the draft when your daughter does not have to? This is sexual discrimination to its fullest. Why must men be required by law to go and fight for their country when women are allowed to sit at home and watch reality shows on TV. Women have the same civil rights as men but women are not required to fight for them. Will Hillary stop this sexual discrimination in our federal government?

How about sexual discrimination in our courts? Why is it presumed that a female will be a better parent than a male? Why do men have to prove that a mother is unfit as a parent in order to obtain custody of his child? Is Hillary going to change this when she is elected president?

Why are women given lighter sentences than a man when they both commit the same type of crime? Is Hillary going to change this when she is elected president?

Will Hillary stand up for equal rights for men as well as for women?

    • Posted By: tjordan @ 05/31/2008 1:26:30 PM

Actually, I feel that women should have to register for the draft just as men do. I served in the military, as a woman, when it was no longer politically correct to support the military (circa 1980). Granted it was peace time, but military service is military service. I also raised my children to believe in service to their country. My daughter wanted to join the military, but blew out her knee in ROTC in high school. One of my sons is currently in the Navy, and my other son is looking at joining in the next couple of years. To me, citizenship should be earned.

Two years of compulsory public service for all citizens would help remind Americans that we are all in this together and that it is not every person for themself.

I am in utter amazement! Why do we need the DNC to decide if our votes should be counted? Did we not go out and vote? The ONLY fair way to count is to follow the voters leads. We chose whom we wanted to represent us and NO one should have the legal right to decide that my vote or yours is now going to be giving to someone other than whom we voted for. Isn't this against the law or at best going against the constitution. If this is not decided the way we voted I for one will no longer trust or believe that my vote counts! PLEASE someone with sanity step in!

    • Posted By: MorningMom @ 05/31/2008 1:23:57 PM

I find your post a little naive. What about the people that thought their votes woluld not count? Or what about the non-property owners? You're discounting everyone else, but stating the votes that are there should count.

    • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 05/31/2008 12:38:01 PM

Florida...you don't quite understand the DNC. Emporer George Soros bought the party, a while back. Votes don't really count to him. It is "his way or the highway". His ultimate goal, is to use the mohammed messiah, to lead America to a socialist Euro-trash member of HIS, U.N.

Soros is evil and will stop at nothing to achieve his goals.

WomenCount. Thank goodness there are people who think rationally, and speak articulately. The voting is not over. Obama has not won the popular vote, and has little chance to win it in November if he is the nominee. Obama is divisive: he sat for twenty years in a pew listening to the hate-filled messages of Jeremiah Wright; he has a wife who publicly announced she was never proud in her adult life to be an American; he is friends with a priest who mocks others and casts aspersions on them; he has no foreign experience and little public political experience except to vote "Present". As former Hardin County Iowa Democratic Chair and a lifelong Democrat, I will vote against Obama if he is the Democratic nominee. He is the least qualified of all people running. I chose substance over style, experience over enthusiasm, and reality over rhetoric.

    • Posted By: Nins @ 05/31/2008 12:03:55 PM

Dear Arthur, while you're entitled to you opinions, I do feel what you have written is not the truth. First of all Hillary has NOT won the popular vote. She CLAIMS she won the popular vote, but to get that number she threw out the results of 14 caucus states, & counted Florida and Michigan (despite Obama not even being on the ballot in Michigan). Sure, if you throw out the votes of 14 states (13 of which were Obama landslides), and you count FL and MI her way, then Clinton wins the popular vote. By a whopping 19,000.

Other things you wrote are also wrong. I listened to the entire Wright sermon where he says "America, your chickens have come home to roost!" This sermon was given right after 9/11. The context of the "God damn America" stuff was that Wright got carried away, expressed anger, and then about a minute later stopped and said "Do you see what I just did? I lost my temper. I started to blame. I let evil into my heart. I pray that God heals me of this evil, and that he heals all Americans of the anger and pain they feel over the 9/11 attacks." Funny how the media never shows him reflecting about what he said was wrong. They only show the little sound byte where he's acting crazy. I myself do not admire Reverend Wright, but I do see his place in the black community, and I understand how, having been a young man in the 1950s and 60s he has experienced a horrendous amount of discrimination in his lifetime. But even he thinks that his anger over it is sinful, and says so to his parish.

Also, to take Mrs. Obama's remarks out of context is just plain wrong. I heard the whole speech where she made that remark and she was talking about how proud she was that Americans were finally getting politically involved and actually trying to change things. She was NOT trashing America. Also, she was expressing a wife's pride in her husband's success, which was very feminine and sweet.

For you to say that Obama has "little foreign experience" proves to me that you are misinformed about him. Obama has been on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee for the past four years, and visited Iraq, Afganistan, Pakistan, and Russia on official State missions. He has a degree in International Relations from Columbia University. He writes extensively about America's foreign policy history in Audacity of Hope, and discusses how we can improve our standing in the world by taking a stable, predictable course in our diplomacy. Furthermore, many world leaders respect and admire him, which would certainly be a refreshing change after the foreign policy bungling of the present administration.

I am a Republican, but I can't vote for McCain and watch him follow the footsteps of Bush, worsening our standing in the world community and leading us into a severe economic depression. Even Rupert Murdoch, the conservative Republican owner of FoxNews, says that he will vote for Obama, for economic reasons. I couldn't agree with him

Other than that I have been 100% GOP my entire life. If I wanted to "give myself some cred" as you say, I wouldn't pretend to be a Republican. Maybe you haven't noticed, but Republicans are not very popular at the moment, given the war and the economy.

David Petraeus, the U.S. Commander in Iraq, although he has stated that he would be willing to meet without precondition the leaders of terrorist countries like Iran.

There you go...let's actually repeat nonsense that these "swiftboat" groups come out with! Makes total sense. Anyone who believes anything they see in a political campaign ad need not go out in public because you are a danger to both yourself and America. After 2004 when they turned an undeniable war HERO into a little "ninny" I cannot believe anyone would even take one thing these groups say as anything more than comedy. The republican plan for the fall is to launch fear tactics, raising the Terror Level and as mentioned in this paper, claiming Al-Quada is going to attack us with WMDs...oh the famous WMDS! hahaha and explain to me how it is that these attacks are going to take place when Bush was supposed to have made us "safer." How is that we have the CIA, FBI, Homeland Security, NSA, etc etc and yet their argument is, "If we don't fight them over there, they will follow us home" ??? Why do we pay taxes for these organizations if we're not safer? And now with the run up to election they are sounding the trumpets of 4 years ago.. With some variation Iran (not Iraq this time) is lying about WMDs, Al-Quada is going to attack us again if we have a Democrat in office - because they care about our politics??? NO. Let me get this straight, we're fighting them over there so don't follow us home, but now you're telling us they're following us home EVEN THOUGH we're fighting them over there??? I'm sorry but you can't have it both ways.

Enough with the fear tactics - that worked in the 20th century but we're not in the 20th century anymore and you can only cry wolf so many times before we call bullsh%t!

She cheats, she lies, she whines - she's unfit for leadership.

This is a good sign for the general elections inNovember. "Hollyroller" and "daddyo" are PETRIFIED at the prospect of Obama as the Democratic nominee. Witness how rabid their baseless attacks have become. I mean litterally grasping at straws to try and gain some traction. "Barack Hussein Obama" say it, it's just his name and can't jump out of print and eat your children. His former glory seeking Pastor wants to make a name for himself and gives you neocons something to lock your rabid jaws on and shake till it's dead. Still nothing on Obama, just association. A catholic priest, TELLS THE TRUTH, in the privacy of his own church and you neocons try yet again to slander through association.

I truly love reading these desperate and baseless posts of yours because it reaffirms that you people have NOTHING on Barack Obama and that deep down you know that he'll win. Change is coming my little neocons so just breathe and let it in, for it will be over soon.

Thank you, Shhhh, for writing this!

I am a Republican and I am sickened by what the bigoted Neocons have done to my party. It's disgusting. It's disgusting not only because their hatred is so ugly, but because they themselves are being used by Karl Rove and they don't even know it.

I'm a Republican who is voting for Obama, partly so the GOP will get the message that we need to shampoo this scum out of our party's hair.

  • Posted By: rainbow68 @ 05/31/2008 12:47:16 PM

It's almost over, thank goodness. The party must unite instead of turning on themselves. Truly, I think Republicans must be standing in stunned amazement at their good fortune. The time to come together is now if you really want the party to do well in November.

    • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 05/31/2008 1:18:52 PM

Seat all the Delegates from Michigan and Florida. The voters are not be puniched because it is the super depegates who fought to have the election held.

There is NO NO NO NO NO NO NO splitting of votes. Obama removed his name from the ballot so he does not deserve any delegate votes.

It is the PEOPLES VOTE THAT COUNTS and that is not to be split in half because Obama thinks he deserves some of the votes. He deserves NOTHING as he WITHDREW his name himself .

Seems as though he is in the same delimma. He always blames everyone else for his mistakes and can never face up to his own actions - even when attending church.

Here's a little math for you: as of today, Obama has 1984 delegates and Clinton has 1782. Obama has 102 more delegates than Hillary. There are 88 delegates in the three remaining primaries, which will be over by Tuesday. Let's split those delegates 50/50, just for the sake of argument, since Obama is expected to win a landslide of 25 points in Montana, Hillary to win by at least 10 points in PuertoRico, and Obama to win by a narrower margin in South Dakota. Since PR has more delegates than MT or SD, we will split 50/50 to reflect that although Obama will win 2 states, she will win PR which is bigger.

So, adding 44 delegates to today's totals gives Obama 2,028 and Clinton 1,826. Now, let's run some scenarios on how to split the FL and MI delegates:

Scenario One: The DNC splits the delegates 50/50 in both states, netting 152 delegates for each candidate. That brings Obama to 2,180 and Clinton to 1,978.

Scenario Two: The DNC gives Clinton 2/3 of the delegates and Obama 1/3, netting 203 delegates for Clinton and 101 for Obama. Note that this is MORE delegates than Clinton "won" in the popular vote in both states, and more delegates than Clinton is asking for. From Obama's point of view, this would be a worst-case-scenario. That bring Obama to 2,131 and Clinton to 2,029.

Right now, the number of delegates needed to win the nomination is 2,026, which Obama will have on Tuesday, after the primaries are done. That delegate number is the number needed if you don't count Florida and Michigan. If they do count FL and MI, the number of delegates needed will be higher, but the highest possible number is 2,120. Look at the FL/MI scenarios above. Even in scenario two, where we gave Clinton more delegates than she is asking for, Obama still wins the nomination, with 2,131 delegates.

Knowing that the Democratic primary is delegate based (not popular vote based) I have been watching the delegate counts for the past three months. It has been obvious to me for about 6 weeks that no matter what Hillary does, she can not win the amount of delegates she needs to get the nomination. Hillary knows this too.

So, I would have to say, if the shoe were on the other foot, I would not be squawking about counting FL and MI.

I'm 55, female, some college, but no degree. And I cannot imagine anyone basing their votes this year on anything more important than competence, honesty and integrity. It's no one's fault but her own that she has found herself losing. She hired like Bush does, out of loyalty rather than choosing the most competent. She told bold, outright, ridiculous lies. She had no time to to fight him on the issues because she was too busy channeling Karl Rove. He raised more money, kept a steady and well focused campaign team, had a better delegate stratagy, stood up 'again' against selling b.s. to the people that would be harmful too us (Iraq, then the gas tax), in both cases, she championed what was very bad for the country and one can assume that since she's not stupid she made her wants and needs a priority over ours, Added all together, he spent what percentage of his time being a uniter? And she spent what percentage of her time being a uniter? I won't fill in the blanks, you do it for yourself. The other day as my grandson was going to deal with a boy that was upset with him, I said, "Be Obama. Know what I mean?" He said over his shoulder, "Yeah, I know. I will. Back soon." My question is this, how many parents have suggested to their kids to 'be Obama,' and how many have instructed them to 'be Hillary' when they're dealing with someone upset? Who amongst us has thought for a minute, I want my daughter to grow up and behave just like Hillary?

Enough of this gender b.s. It's about competence, honesty and integrity. channell

Sorry Doctor Ide. If you are going to condemn by association than you have to include Hillary and McCain in that circle. Nobody seems to be talking about Hillary's former pastor who was found guilty of child molestation and I'm sure we all know about McCain's pastor issues. Seeing how she has had the same pastor for a while, obviously she and every other member of that church must advocate child molestation right. That's basically the frame of logic you are following with this whole pastor association game, right??Furthermore, if you think Obama is divisive you are smoking crack. Not to mention, the priest speaking at Obama's church was right on about what he said. Hillary feels a sense of entitlement to the Dem nomination and now because she is losing she is crying foul. She has changed her colors more times than a cameleon in this campaign season and every possible under handed shot she could take at Obama, she did. Now, Obama may not have as much experience as Hillary or McCain, but the last experienced president we had has driven this country to ruin, so forgive me if I don't necessarily put a tremendous amount of faith in experience alone.

WELL I GUESS ITS BETTER TO HAVE THE PRESIDENT WHO FAILED THE ECONOMY AND MADE A FEW MISTAKE THAN A PRESIDENT WHO IS NOT TESTED IN ANY AREAS AND WANTS TO SIT DOWN WITH TERRORIST COUNTRIES AND MAKES MISTAKES ON THE CAMPAIN TRAIL HELL HE CAN'T GET THE AMOUNT OF STATES RIGHT NOR COULD HIS CAMP !! IF HE;S MAKING THESE TYPES OF MISTAKES NOW WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT IF HE GETS IN THE WHITE HOUSE ?/ GEEZE WAKE UP AND SMELL THE SET UP WILL YA !!!!

Our economy is not a result of Bush policy. It is a combination of overspending in housing(Dems caused this, by loosening borrowing criteria), no drilling or exploration in U.S.(Dem. tree-huggers fault), no Nuclear Power Plants (Dem. tree-huggers), and normal business cycles. The tax cuts have lessened the blow. A Hussein election will CRUSH our economy.

It is still WAY BETTER than the Peanut yrs. Most obamamohammeds either have forgotten or were not born. Hussein is almost a Mr Peanut II. But, way more dangerous.

Bush will look much better, in historical analysis. And that is what really matters.

Oh, yes, everyone, please listen to HolyRoller! Holy is obviously so intelligent! He makes all of his decisions based on skin color. He's a skin head.

Holy thinks he knows more about the economy than men like Rupert Murdoch and Warren Buffett. Both Mr. Murdoch and Mr. Buffett are voting for Obama, and both of them say that they support Obama because he has the best plan for reversing the economic downturn. Murdoch goes even further, saying that McCain is "very weak on the economy" and that voting for McCain would be "dangerous" for America.

What national experience Did Bill Clinton have? Didn't President Clinton goes to Canada to dodge the draft and did not certain veteran groups refuse to have him speak to their groups because of this?

See Philly...obamamohammeds NEVER speak the total truth. The CLINTON PASTOR was NOT Sen Clinton's pastor. He was from CLINTON, NY. Don't think I'm right??? I AM. Get used to it.

Get your lies in order, idiot. Being from Philly, is no excuse.

I still don't understand where the perceived gender-bias has been in this election other than Hillary's campaign painting it that way. I am a woman and a staunch independent because I am sick and tired of the Rovian politics that I have seen in both the Democratic party and the Republican party. And I do not support Hillary Clinton because not only did her husband's administration display Rovian behavior, but it has been even more apparent in her campaign. Someday a woman will run for president and win because she will be worthy on her own terms and in a principled way because she wants to serve the people more than trying to win at all costs. Hillary may have a principled reason for wanting to win, but I will only trust someone who puts their principles before ???politics.???

What a bunch of sore losers.

Hillary and her supporters DID NOT WANT those states to count b/c she assumed she'd have it all wrapped up by Feb. 5th; so she had no incentive to want those states to count.

Now she is behind, she wants those states to count.

Can you believe anything her and her surrogates say anymore? Harold Ickes, her campaign manager VOTED to remove FL and MI delegations. Now he's for it b/c she's behind.

Is this the kind of PResident you want? Sore loser who will do anything and say anything to win?

In a way...yeah. That would beat a Carter who capitualtes on everything. But I get your point though, but by that token ALL politicians are this way. Thats the sad part of todays reality.

    Option Two
Flip the bird to your lifelong friends on the Left and reverse all their foreign policy ideas. Send several battle groups within striking distance of Tehran. Beef up our forces next door, in Iraq, the Gulf and Afghanistan. Get serious with the Russians to pull their engineers out of Iranian nuclear plants. Block North Korean help for A'jad's Bomb. Stop German companies like Siemens from selling advanced electronic gear to the mullahs. Turn Syria around, to isolate Iran's proxy armies in Lebanon and Gaza. Mount more state-of-the-art missile defenses on Aegis war ships --- we have 82 of them, a formidable world-wide missile defense if we ever decide to use them. Finally, build up US troop numbers.
And then let the New York Times go into hysterics.
Call Option Two the "George W. Bush strategy." Or if you don't like that, it also happens to be the Wilson-FDR-JFK-LBJ-Truman strategy. It used to be standard Democrat foreign policy, before the Dems turned hard left after 1968.
So which one -- the Carter Option or the W Option -- do you think President Obama will choose? With Iran pointing a loaded gun at the world, and thousands of Basiji marching in the streets, all praying to become martyrs, there is not much ground for coming together and finding hope.
Presidents have to make real decisions with real consequences. So far, Obama hasn't shown any willingness to make hard choices, even in his political campaigns. He wants to be the messiah, but without renouncing bad characters like Rezko or Wright or Ayers. Like Bill Clinton, he's great at having his cake and eating it, too.
Since the Left has been completely wrong about foreign policy since Jimmy Carter, they are very poorly equipped even to think about an Iranian Bomb. That's why they keep denying that there's any real problem with nuke proliferation. And yet it's rushing straight at us, like that roaring locomotive in the tunnel.
I'm just curious. Charles Krauthammer just pointed out that the Left has made it impossible to act preemptively against rogues with nukes. When Iran explodes its Bomb, will the Left apologize for being wrong about national security for decades? Will the CIA apologize for its wretched failures, one after the other, to warn about life-threatening dangers?

    • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 05/31/2008 12:55:22 PM

We all know the answer. Obama is never wrong so no matter what he does he will do it in a way that will unite everyone... ha ha ha yeah I don't believe it too.
The far left (I'm liberal but I don't claim them) like Obama will never admit that they are wrong.

Assume for a moment: It's January, 2009, and Barack Obama has just been inaugurated as President of the United States. Ahmadi-Nejad explodes his first Bomb; he now has that itchy finger on the button as long as the mullahs stay in power. The Middle East goes wild --- with abject fear among the Saudis, and loud celebrations among terror supporters. The day of revenge against the Jews and the Crusaders has finally arrived.

What would President Obama do? He has only two basic options.
      Option One
Stick with his electoral promises, fly to Tehran, and "talk to the mullahs." What will the mullahs wish to talk about, after talking up the glory of martyrdom warfare for thirty years? For three decades the daily chant was "Death to America! Death to Israel!" The Left is sure the Khomeini cultists can't possibly mean that. But now they are faced with a 15-minute warning time if the mullahs do mean what they've been telling us since 1979.
Maybe the mullahs will ask President Obama how high the US will jump? How quickly will the Saudi royals get out of Arabia and give it to the Khomeini cult, which is convinced that it has the historic right to the two holy cities of Mohammed? How long until the price of oil doubles? And, Mr. President, you get those US Navy ships out of the Gulf of Imam Khomeini, right now. Or else we will swarm your Navy ships with fleets of gunboats and see who blinks first. Martyrdom is glorious.
Call Option One the Jimmy Carter option. With Carter's advisor Zbig Brzezinski back in favor, President Obama will be hearing a lot about that one.
If you think the price of oil is high today, wait 'til the Middle East catches fire. The Caliphate of Iran wants every other nation to "bow down to the greatness of Iran," as Ahmadi-Nejad likes to put it. With a Bomb, they can sway the OPEC monopoly. Would the Saudis resist Iranian pressure, 50 miles from their shore? Europe will try to feed the hungry crocodile lots of goodies, hoping it will eat them last. But Israel may not be inclined to become croc food, and they have an estimated 200 nukes. Thirty years ago Prime Minister Golda Meir was prepared to use them as a last resort. With their backs against the wall, they may have no choice. So Option One means trouble.
The Saudis don't have nuclear weapons (yet), but they can buy them from Pakistan. If they are afraid of Iran's itchy finger, they will, and who can blame them? Arab and Sunni pride will demand a Bomb for Egypt and Syria. If everybody else can have one, why not Libya again? If the US is not willing to protect Arab nations against Iranian aggression, they will find a more bloody-minded protector like Russia. Vladimir Putin will be happy to oblige, for a price.
So let's hope your advisors have read up on the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1964, Mr. President, because soon we're going to see it again.
