I want a scarf too and hang out with MissyE!

  • Posted By: priscillam @ 05/31/2008 10:42:01 AM

Give me a break it's a Scarf, if she was wearing it as anything else I would understand, but it's a scarf. In case you haven't noticed that is Iced Coffee in her hand not some huge weapon used to destroy millions of town and villages. I don't think that DD should have pulled the ad, it wasn't offensive, lewd, or violent. It was a chick wearing a scarf holding coffee.

Geller would do herself and the rest of society well by becoming educated in the real affairs of the world rather than picking one sensitive scab and exploiting it for the purpose of misrepresentation. This American society has been so over sensitized by the people who feel they have the right to speak without the slightest representation or understanding of the subject, which by the way is the basis for an argument. Pam; GET A LIFE...

I like the scarf, I like Rachel Ray, I like Dunkin Donuts. I heard the argument and was not drawn to muslim based mind control, I saw what was supposessed to be a down to earth celebrity with a sweet snack and a notiion to adorn herself with an accessory. Today it is warm, I will put on my scarf, get in my convertible, and let it blow while I snack on Dunkin Donuts fare. We are safe from Rachel and her scarf.

I must admit to eating Dunkin' Donuts for at least 30 years, but no more. This decision is sheer corporate STUPID.

Does seem rather asinine in the broader view, but looking in the narrows, it needs to be remembered what many of the muslims of this world are fighting for. All things not muslim. Any appearance ,by us, to accept ,anything associated with their ways ,will be viewed as a victory by the extremists. Until the muslims of the world come together to help stop their extremists brothers, we should avoid association with all things Muslim or appearing to be Muslim oriented.

Each of my daughters happens to own a keffiyeh. They are presents their father sent them while serving in Iraq with the National Guard. For the record, they are NOT paisley. Does Michelle Malkin plan on excoriating my girls if they were their father's present in public?
The sheer nuttiness of this is beyond understanding.

  • Posted By: kahikov @ 05/31/2008 4:31:31 AM

Right on. Olive-drab and khaki shemagh (keffiyeh) can be found for sale in the online catalogs of huge commercial U.S. troop suppliers U.S. Cavalry and Brigade Quartermasters. I dare anyone to find a grunt on his way to the sandbox who doesn't have one, mainly because, well, they're so damned practical. And how about that classic WW2 photo of the British SAS commandos in their jeeps, wearing....yep, keffiyeh. And beards too! Too bad Michelle Malkin missed out on all the job retraining the rest of the girls working the bars and strip joints and soap houses in Olongapo and Angeles City got. She could have used some of that money to go to learn to be a journalist, or write a coherent sentence, or think and debate rationally, or something.....If the middle of my country has turned into such a churning cesspool of blathering redneck creationist anti-semite idiots, I think I'll remain an expat, thank you.

Appreciate the sensible reporting here. The woman behind this, Pam Geller, also instigated the attack on Brooklyn's Khalil Gibran International Academy with the help of the New York Post and New York Sun and other right wing interests. In that case she has been completely uninterested in the facts about this public school, and it has been smeared as a "jihad factory" because it is a dual langauge arabic-english school. Its founding Principal has been the subject of a relentless smear campaign. Geller and her neoconservative allies at the Stop the Madrassa Coaltion may amgine they aerkeeping American and Israel safe, but they are simply spreading hurtful and divisive lies that make us less safe as well as less tolerant as a nation.

Good to read something sensible about this. Besides instigating this, Pam Geller is also one of those behind the smearing of our local school the Khalil Gibran Internatinal Academy as some sort of 'jihad factory"-- ie she has no interest in facts, only in sleazy anti-arab innuendo. It does discourage many of us in the Arab and Muslim community that elected officials, corporations and media regularly cave in to this sort of garbage. Why is this? Is it because of high placed Islamophobes who imagine they are protecting the USA and Israel in this way? Do we really think this is the "voice of the Jewish voters?" -- please, that constituency is a lot smarter than that.

Dude she's totally a terrorist, and hiding Bin Laden, there is simply no two ways about it. Just check out the evidence: http://www.236.com/blog/w/katie_halper/rachel_ray_scarf_says_terroris_6809.php

As a Boston boy born and bred,it breaks my heart to boycott ol' "DD" but that's the way it's gonna be.Since when does a big company like Dunkin' Donuts knuckle under to the lunatic fringe led by that synchophantic pipsqueak Michelle Malkin? These days, more and more often I guess...

I completely agree with Ali this is anti arab or at the very least ... anti-Rachael! it is absolutely pathetic that ignorant bloggers can have such influence. Yeah right,Rachael really represents arab terrorists, with her short-sleeved, v-neck shirt, makeup and no head covering.....DUH!!!!

  • Posted By: bill4net @ 05/30/2008 7:57:07 PM

I agree. It's silly to complain about Rachel Ray's scarf. These conservative bloggers are the same people who think teletubbies are a threat to our children. I am ashamed that so many Americans listen to such crazies.

Ali. Heres a factcheck for you. ''anti-Kaffiyeh''types including those heaping scorn on DONUTS,are not running around blowing up innocents because they ''represent a culture they love to hate''. Pull yer head out of it,as you are no better then they.[we recall Muslim craziness over a NIKE shoe the ''swoosh''of which, had an arcane similarity to the word of the Muslim ''prophet''or ''god''. Muslims went ape and NIKE pulled the shoe]. More ''professional racists'':

UC Irvine in California is honourbound by the laws of the state to provide a threat-free environment to all of its students. You wouldn't know this by the presence of a radical Muslim student organization which has cowed the administration into silence and ramped up its racist anti-Semitic [Jew] bombast. You will not see an Ali calling for the removal of the likes of these. NEWSWEAKS Evan Thomas and Mike Issikoff all by their selves, touched off deadly riots throughout the Muslim world for hatching a story which proved to be false bearing upon ''Koran-flushing''. A less than sterling moment for NEWSWEAK one will agree. Those who have raised professional whining,if you will,to a fine art,is CAIR,which sees racists lurking under every bush yet whose organization itself is packed to the gunnels with anti-Semitic trash. The press grovels to these all the same. Wanna contract put out on you? scribble a cartoon of Mohammed. Yet the Alis and NEWSWEAKS of the world will wonder why Catholics raise such a fuss over a cruxcified Jesus placed in a jug of urine and put on display before thousands, with its images broadcast worldwide. Best sellers in the Middle East? Two of them actually, which you can find in Muslim bookstores right here in the Good 'ol USA.

    Mein Kamph
The Protocols of the Elders of Zion [which Syria made into a miniseries on TV in 2005].

DONUT critics blew it by going overboard in their ridiculous paranoia.
Ali blows it because she ignores the very real danger of Islamic violence meted out to those who care nothing for their ''prophet''. You will recall that DONUTS and ''Middle East politics''go together much closer than you can imagine. DUNKIN DONUTS,is owned by CARLYLE.[whose Middle Eastern meddling is legendary].
