Hmmm, someone trafficking on their current entertainment fame was wearing a scarf that LOOKED LIKE something worn by many standard folk that LOOK LIKE some bad folk'aplanet... Some folk that don't LOOK/LIKE the standard aforementioned, pointed out that aforementioned scarf so offendingly LOOKED, uh LIKE.

So, political correctness+celebrity+business+human_nature=knee jerk reactions surprises anyone. Why do we care about the commentators, the celebrities, and the like? Since they're ALL entertainers, it's ALL entertainment!

Now, if the commercial had someone in a head scarf/kaffiyeh holding a butter churn, I'd have actually gone into a Dukin' Donuts out of curiosity.

Segregation, narrow mindedness, racial/religious bigotry, and the standard fear of the different is only the instinctive human defensive mechanism. The trick is learning to suppress it just enough (insert definition of choice here).

Oh, Feldergarb! It's all entertainment, I hope that this was entertaining.

      Sorry sorry

The bigot bloggers get paid for creating this trash, so their mindless readers can get worked into a froth. It is the exact same approach they have used to hi-jack Christianity and the evangelicals in the neo-conservative propaganda war against the rest of the world, Muslims, and Middle Eastern countries. Where does our Constitution say it okay to use freedom of speech to lie and fabricate mis-truths and outright distortions? If the Bushies are for accountability, here is a great place to put their money (where their mouths are).

"Where does our Constitution say it okay to use freedom of speech to lie and fabricate mis-truths and outright distortions?"

      Questions for you:
      (a) how did Rachel Corrie die and what was she protecting?
      (b) who shot Mohammed Al-Dura?

The more the lies of the lefties are exposed, the more they are caught standing protecting those who want to kill others over those who stand AGAINST racism and genocide, the more the racism and hate-mongering of the left is caught in action, the more foolish they look.

The Kaffiyeh is a symbol of HATE, just like the KKK mask, the Nazi Swastika, and any other symbols of racial supremacism.

Where does the constitution give the right to lie... just look at any Liberal News and blogger for the last fifteen years.. and if you were objective, you would see lots of lies and half truths.. but since they fall in line with you beliefs than you will never see them for the half truths they are, and realize that they are also feeding you an agenda from their own beliefs and it was not true news.

Come on really, the woman wore a scarf around her neck. Its not a Islamic headress or anything of the sort. I really hope people see that it was a fashion choice, maybe unwise, but a fashion choice at that and nothing more, lay off with the Oh My God Terrorist thing its getting lame. As far as politics are concerned i really dont think Ms. Ray even gave a moments thought to the implications of wearing a fashion accessory that might look like a Islamic Garmet because ITS A COMMERICAL FOR DOUGHNUTS, PEOPLE

Boy some people REALLY need to get a life here. Just because someone wears an artical of clothing doesnt mean they are for or against a certain group of people. That is ludicrious and just goes to show the rampant parinoia in the States.

So why are we supposed to hate an Entire country for what a few stupid people did? WE nuked the crap outta Japan, (granted they started it) but they aren't boycotting everything we trade. I mean, I love america, but some of the things americans do to prove they are american is just ridiculous. "Hey, Lets boycott 'French' fries,, because France doesn't have the same views as as." It's the SAME thing.

I wish they were publicaly traded, you could watch their stock drop like a lead ball.

Ms. Ali thanks for the dose of reality this morning! That'll wake you up better than a 16 oz watered down coffee imposter :)

    Kev34,
I am as American as they come, Mother is Cherokee, Father is Irish, German, and Dutch, and guess what? I love Italian iced coffee, ever had it? It is very very strong, so strong in fact that it is thick, in fact my Grandfather fought in WWII and he drank his coffee from a real percolating coffee pot, started at 4 am and not considered ready by him until 5:30, a spoon would stand on its own in his cup, and know what else? His three sons fought in Korea and Vietnam, they like dark coffee too, maybe they are Jihadist....hmmm let me think..... no just not spineless whiners sitting around making comments about someone's last name.... but they made sure you had the right to do so.... so have fun wimp.

The only reason this is a story is because we have 12 news stations meaning that thewy somehow have to try and fill 288 hours a day with fresh perspectives on the same stories or making non-issues, issues ... I mean who is "Pam Geller?" If she's not the long lost sister or Monica and Ross, what kind of credentials does she bring that she can tell a national company what to do??? Just because you can type in your bathrobe while your significant other works does not make you someone to listen to. Shame on Dunkin Donuts for not giving bloggers the finger and telling them to shove the feces their spewing back into their collective mouths.

Agreed, this is stupid, this is just as stupid as liberals and liberal journalism turning against christianity or catholicism because of some examples of bad behavior. I mean when you think about it, liberals and the media have turned against those religons because of the examples of child abuse that had gone on for years and the church turned a blind eye.

I mean that is so much worse than what the people who follow this version of Islam do...they only blow people up...... check that, blow as many people as they can up using car or people bombs. They only cut prisoners heads off with large knives, they only teach children to be suicide bombers, they only show Saturday morning cartoons (In Iran) where the children are suicide bombers and blow up U.N. Convoys.
They only kidnap innocent people kill them and then bury them in mass graves because they deem them enemies to their religon. They only hijack and fly planes into buildings, bomb subways, bomb buildings, bomb military ships and embassies. Since they havent been found to sexually abuse kids their religon is ok, they should just be pitied because they come from a bad area of the world...ooh, I forgot to mention what the Taliban does to people...but since the little kids are dead and not abused Christianity is so much worse.

I am agnostic and dont really understand religon, but someone please tell me this....why is it that the libs and the media have demonized Christianity and it's like so much because of these cases. Yet demonizing Islam for what they do is racist? Why is it when we talk about these events, all of Christinaity and Catholicism is evil and should not be followed....yet these people who are Jihadists are not part of the MAINSTREAM religon of Islam and therefore if you put that religon down at all you are being racist? Seems to me if we demonized christianity as a whole for one or two or fifteen things.. we should be able to demonize Islam as a whole for one, two, or fifty things they have done that was evil.

Once again, not really religious, just anti-hypocrisy, if you dont see the logic in these arguments then you just have allowed someone to cover your eyes to only see one issue of the story and you are not being objective at all. TO make well informed arguments, you must argue from both sides to make a well informed point...maybe your politics is muddying up your judgement.

Rachel Ray is one of America's sweethearts and part of what is right with our country. Pam Geller needs to be investigated!

  • Posted By: momof3teens @ 06/02/2008 11:25:20 AM

The bggest problem with society is we cave to a few squeaky wheels because the majority refuses to shout back, we have given up prayer, Pledge of Alligiance, and other staples because a few say that these things are wrong. I never said you have to pray to my God, or eve pray at all just give those who wish to the 5 minutes to do so, if you don't want to say under God then don't but don't expect others to change the way they say it for you.
Why do we let a few uneducated, small minded people force our personal morals to bend for their comfort? Why do even large companies cower before a few and oppose millions?
Because the few are loud that is why. So let the majority get loud and retaliate in the same manner as those few, see how they like it.
The bloggers who wrote the garbage about a scarf looking something a jihadist would wear are more than likely not Rhode Scholars and DD gave them power to rule over DD's ad, why? Because of fear of offending the few. The few need to get educated, or at least get themselves to a library and read something other than gossip mags, and the enquirer.
I agree with schirmce, maybe I will go farther and say that people who push these notions of "get'em they are showing a scarf that resembles a kaffiyeh" are more like the bigotted and crazed groups of domestic terrorists who go around picketing soldiers funerals and lynching people because of skin color than average American citizens. Maybe the average citizen needs to stand up and defend our rights in this country, before they are gone. By sitting back and allowing these people to go unanswered we are in fact empowering them.

    • Posted By: seanw3 @ 06/02/2008 11:43:31 AM

yeah I agree.. go and research what the liberal Communist Socialist ACLU squeaky wheels have gotten passed in this country the last thirty years and it will open your eyes to lots of stupidity

Who can dump on Rachel Ray! Someone should check into Pam Geller! Rachel is one of America's sweethearts and a good example of what is right in America. Geller is starting a conspiracy.

I have a scrarf just like the one Rachael Ray wore for Dunkin' Donuts, as a matter of fact, i also have a red one. Does that make me a member of Jihad? I am an hispanic female, retired Captain in the US Military, and proud to be an American. Bigots, GROW UP.

  • Posted By: Kev34 @ 06/02/2008 11:39:44 AM

Interestesting that the authors name is Ali; I bet she wore a kaffiyeh while writing the story! Iced coffee weak? Ali must prefer a stronger middlern blend of iced coffee along with her Krispy Kreme (KK dooughnuts, like the stock, are stale)!
