Surprise, surprise. This article was written by someone with the last name of "Ali." I got some news for ya: this is America - we don't take kindly to Arabs.

It is apparent that ignorant fools like yourself who were somehow lucky enough to be born on US soil don't take kindly to anything but incestual relations and Jerry Springer reruns. Speak for yourself , not true hearted Americans who embrace the ideals of this melting pot nation.
I am not Arab or Muslim but I believe you are missing the point of the article with your comment. The writer's last name is not the point nor does it discount the lack of balls by Dunkin Donuts for kowtowing to bloggers who are trying to create mole hills out of a piece of clothing. The bloggers are wrong for creating the dust up, Dunkin Donuts is wrong for not standing by their ad or the stylist for the ad, and you are wrong for making a tactless blanket statement for Americans and their feelings.
Actually we do not take kindly to racist fools Mr. Smith.
Mr. John Smith your a jackass of racist. No one is a full bloodied American but the Native American hence the name jackass your a foriegner just like everybody else. AND HERE IN AMERICA WE DON'T TAKE KINDLY TO RACIST!!!
Interestesting that the authors name is Ali; I bet she wore a kaffiyeh while writing the story! Iced coffee weak? Ali must prefer a stronger middlern blend of iced coffee along with her Krispy Kreme (KK dooughnuts, like the stock, are stale)!
I have a scarf just like the one Rachael Ray wore for Dunkin' Donuts, as a matter of fact, I have another which is red. I am not Arabic or of the Islamic faith. I am a hispanic female, retired Cpt. in the military and proud to be an American. Wearing of the scarf does not make me a member of the JIhad or a terrorist. Bigots,GROW UP.
Crispy Creme offers a superior glazed cruller?????, c'mon, even a stale, day old Dunkin cruller is tastier than any of the offerings at Crispy Creme. Dunkin Donuts is the bomb and they are missed out here on the west coast.
Seriously?! It's a freakin' scarf. Who cares what it looks like, who wears similar scarfs, or if it actually was a kaffiyeh? People need to grow...and grow up. It's not a controversy, it's a scarf! And shame on Dunkin' Donuts, and while we're at it, all those other companies and individuals, caving because something might be viewed as politically incorrect. You can't please all the people all the time. The best we can do is to not cave to those with intolerances. Let them deal with it.
I agree. Pam Geller's initial comment was almost commical in it's fashion sense. Linking Rachel Ray, and presumably Dunkin' Donuts, to terrorism this way is just ridiculous. Conservatives could not find any WMD in Iraq so now they are resorting to alarmism to further their lost cause.
So according to Pam Gellar, every time I see someone in a black and white scarf, I am to assume they are a terrorist or terrorist supporter? Am I also to assume that every time I see someone in sneakers or buying something at Wal-mart, they must s a Communist or Communist supporter (most sneakers and Wal-mart products: Made in China)? Someone with an Italian purse must be a Fascist or supporter of Fascism? Anyone wearing just about anything from most clothing retailers must be a supporter of sweatshops and child labor? OMG! Anyone filling up their gas tank must also be a supporter of Arabic terrorism!!! I guess the only true Americans are bare-foot nudists walking around because we don't manufacture anything in the U.S. anymore.
Before we all sink into paranoia, right-wing AND left-wing, maybe we should all find something more important to worry about then a black and white scarf.
Amusing the author of the comment is named Ali, bet she has a kaffiyeh or two! Watered down iced coffee? Ali must prefer a strong middle eastern iced coffee blend!!
it is ignorance and racism like this that destroys the united states. thanks for being a part of the problem.
John_Smith_USA--- Your narrow mind is a terrible thing to share....You attack those that speak their mind as you have. Yet you try to speak for the American People when you say this is America, "we don't take kindly to Arabs". Well I can only speak for myself and I will. Did you HATE the Arab people before 9/11? You more than likely did not even know they existed. What they did to this country was a very very very terrible thing, but to continue to promote hatred and mis-guided anger is even worse. America was built on the foundation of justice and freedom for ALL, not just for you. As for your other comment on stop using "big words" "get a dictionary"... Give me your address and I will send you one free of charge so that you can keep up with what the majority of people are reallt saying and you can follow along. Let me ask you Mr. Smith are you a true believer in the America System? Do you believe that America prevails no matter the situation? I am and I do. We are a great country who at times make the ignorant mistake of STUPIDITY over a new article or some other idiotic something, but that is America, that is China, that is Iraq and that is IT! People, governments, countries and so forth all do this, but that does not make the people, government or countries less inclined to do their deeds. Don't speak for me, I am a American-- born, raised and still fighting for this country and I accept all those that choose to accept the American way of life here in America. I don't agree with alot of them or their idealogical ways but again this is AMERICA and you have to accept the changes that come with it.....Fight for what you believe in, shut up for what you don't understand.... A scarf does not determine what color alert America is on and you sure as hell don't determine what the American people represent !!

I am not Arab or Muslim but I have to take issue with John_Smith_USA's comment. I believe a lot of people are missing the point of the article with their anti-Arab comments. The writer's last name is not the point of the article nor does it discount the lack of balls by Dunkin Donuts for kowtowing to bloggers who are trying to create mole hills out of a piece of clothing. Another axample of the giant steps back to the McCarthy Era, courtesy of the far right fear mongers. This is why the US has lost its position in the world today, and we're now seen as arrogant bullies. It's amazing what fear, paranoia, and greed do to reason.
it is so sad that a fashion scarf should have to be pulled in a commercial because someone decided to call the race card. I thought we were moving forward. Dunkin Donuts... you folded to a racial person I am ashamed that you did not stand up... this is the USA not a dictatorship where one person defines our fashion into politics. Pam Geller go to a class about other cultures. Before you take a scarf and turn it into your views. Please get a life. Maybe your wardrobe can be reflected on some dirverse culture. We should all go out and by the same scarf and wear it in support of Raceal Ray. How did we give this person so much power?
Rachael Ray represents nothing more than a woman who has made it based on the merits of her personality_which in this day and age is quite refreshing. I doubt that she has had to bare much skin, have a scandalous affair_or porn video to accomplish what most (men and women) wish they could. Pam Gellars remarks were nothing more than thoughtless, "high school" level slags thrown at a successful student. It's obvious that Pam isn't a fan of the Taliban and who in their right mind would be, but to insinuate that Rachael Ray might be a supporter of such a faction based solely on a piece of material wrapped around her neck...and the fact that a large chain such as Dunkin Donuts would give into this type of pressure instead of defending their spokesWOMAN makes me question who the "real" terrorist might be and who could possibly be the next target?
Pam Geller who posted the blog about Rachel Ray's scarf must be really paranoid, or just got too much time in her hands. It's amazing how anyone could put a bad meaning to anything that is as simple as a scarf. So sad....
Maybe Dunkin Donuts should have hired Stacy and Clinton and gotten some good fashion advice before using that scarf in there ad. Terrorism don't think so bad taste definatly.
Nothing like 'caving" in....SHAME ON DUNKIN DONUTS AND MARGIE MYERS.. The voice of freedom should not have to adhere to lobbiest and/or anyone else that wants to promote racist rhetoric against Arabs and Muslims. Good bye Dunkin Donuts HELLO Starbucks.
Stephen of reason, I thought the exact same thing about examples of other "non-terrorists" that wear this thing. I thought it kinda dumb to point to how non-controversial something is by saying Kanye does it. LOL! Yes, because nothing he does is for arguments sake or to start something! Same with the arty types. I studied art history but there were always a few with grand ideas of uprisals, evil empire and such. While overall, I do agree that this was a whole lot of hooey about nothing. It's a scarf people, seriously. Just dumb to think Rachel Ray is promoting jihad. C'mon now. Dumb. But the argument stated above is just about as stupid.
"It's a scarf people, seriously."
So a swastika armband is just an armband? A white pointed hood means nothing? There are countless symbols of racism and violence worn these days by people who support racism and violence, the Kaffiyeh is no less nor more a racist symbol.
As I pointed out in another psot. That is a banal staement. A Kaffiyeh is NOT a symbol of anything. Get a life (and a funcitonal brain.)
I concur. When a story like this first breaks, the suggestion is put into our minds that we have to look for the guilty party--and here it is! I, too, am sick of Arab-bashing masked by the terrorism card. My neighbor next door is Iranian, and so is the guy across the street. Yet, they have proven themselves to be more responsible and caring than the former owner, who was white and participated in ID theft and tax evasion.
I am a law-abiding citizen of the United States, born 'n bred right here in N. America..... and I do wear a religious symbol that makes it apparent to others what religion I'm a part of. Just yesterday, for the umpteenth time perhaps, an ignorant moron yelled at me that this was "America and not [enter foreign land here]". Thank you Dunkin Donuts for feeding into the brains of these bigots.
