Well, Chirac was a scheming, anti-American, slimy politician. This guy said he will send a sizable contingent of French troops, which means he will send the FFL. They are not French, and are a well trained force that usually gets sent to combat first. We are STILL waiting Sarkozy. At least the French have SF that will kill, as opposed to the German KSK. And they do have a couple of Mirage Sqdrns that provide CAS. Sarkozy has a chance to make NATO credible again. We are still waiting.

Rachida Dati, the justice minister isn't exactly one of the shinning stars of gov't, she is resented by the establishment for being one of sarkos angels. A large percentage of her staff at the ministry have resigned, she is often accused of being too 'bling-bling' robe DIOR, Cover of PARIS MATCH, and being less than convinsing in television interviews. She isn't a shreud politician by instinct but obviously a fighter, she has an experienced politician in Roger Karoutchi,the minister for parlimentary relations as a kind of coach.
In a recent opinion poll she has lost 20points.
