Well maybe the folks in this country will finally wake up & start to use the resources that we have plenty of.
They are untapped oil, coal, oil shale, natural gas, & nuclear energy. Of course the enviros will have to modify their expectations & maybe not care so much for the spotted owl or many other animals which they so love. Think of the folks out there starving because they can't get enough money for food or clothing
because they can't get to work or be able to afford much of anything. The real war coming is against those who deny the rest of us a stable economy . Things will change for the best when the few that deny the majority step out of the way & let us use what God gave us for a better life for our children & ourselves.

America in particular and world in general, must learn to conserve energy and use it wisely..whether it is our driving habits or using electricity or other power consuming products. There is plenty of energy sources out there. Oil and gas can be found in America if Congress and enviromentalists get away from the attitude: NOT IN MY BACK YARD". Free enterprise made America great and still has a chance to make it even better!

It's now clear the U.S learned nothing from the oil shocks in the 1970s and when they were over, people went right back to excessive use of oil and its products. A highlight of that time was when President Reagan laughed while the solar panels Jimmy Carter had put on the roof of the White House were taken down.

The oil crisis of the 70s was political. The one we have now is geological. The world consumes over 30 billion barrels of oil a year and rising. The U.S uses 25% of that. All of the cheap, easy to extract oil is just about gone. And the amount of oil in ANWR would supply the U.S for less than 18 months.

I just think it's poetic justice that this oil crisis has started under President Bush, who mocked Al Gore's ideas for renewable energy during the 2000 campaign.
