Is Wal-Mart Too Liberal?

wow,um,seriosly,I don't know how to respond to this,um,well here goes.
ARE YOU PEOPLE INSANE!walmart,a few years ago it was the evil empire,now it may be the megastore that stops earth from turning into a fire ball,it's funny how things work out,you do realize what they were doing to some of the poor batards in small business before right?and exaclty how can you be too concerned about the environment right now,don't get me wrong,I'm not sure about the gay rights thing,I don't know enough about it,but still the other points are good pionts,as for the mercury bit,we'll deal with that,I've got a few ideas. also why do you think it's a radical minority?Do you have any evidence,you always want evidence so give some evidence, I just wanna state,I'd like a different Iraq war,we need better tactics is all and also, stop being so lazy and ride your bikes you car loving bastards,so ok yes,the hummer is awsome,but,we just can't have them,maybe in the future we'll have carbon converters or they'll run on water,they have a working version of that you know,for smaller cars though,let's see what else,I hate double standards everyone should be able to say *** and cracker I think buddism is better then most including christianity(the crusades and all)I mean come on there were four of them,and Abortion,well,only if it will die if you have it now,hey can I ask christians something?If it's ok for god to kill his creations then why can't we even have a lousy abortion?they're are too many dam people anyway,and for the record,I'd save a gorilla before a human,unless he was an awsome human,like say gandhi.as for why I saying all this?I want too gauge your reactions too it,so be aware this is kinda a trap.I still don't trust walmart completly but,they do seem to have changed,I think I'll start shopping there again.

Wal-Mart is continuing to lose traction

Some of these comments have literally made me ill. I thought we were moving in a better direction than this. Besides, as far as Walmart becoming too liberal, well they needed to change something; specifically for their employees. They treat their employees terrible and I for one think it's fantastic that they are making changes to that. I know more than 3 dozen (yes, 3 dozen. That's a bunch for just one individual to know in a case like this) people that refused to shop at Walmart because of their treatment of employees and their "biased politics". So, to say that there is no data to support the idea that "bad politics" effects business is just balogna. I think it is fantastic that they are making steps to make it more friendly for EVERYONE (Meaning liberals, conservatives, and moderates)!!! That is what this country is about. And all of this talk about how liberals are destroying our country and conservatives are destroying it, the very act of labeling it like that and becoming so socially devided, THAT is what is destroying our country. Within the past decade or so people have decided that black and white thinking is best and that only leads to hurt and more division. Somewhere along the line people made up their minds that no matter who you are or what you have to say, you are wrong and they are right and then get angry at them for thinking differently than they do. It saddens me. America was founded to bring socially equality and we are disgracing that by talk of Liberals being evil and Conservatives being evil. Get a hold of yourselves.

Health care and wages are a conservative and liberal issue. A strong economy is also a liberal and conservative issue. Gays are a very small minority and do not drive corparate decisions. But we have seen where our economy is after 8 years of neo-conservatives and their issues. Billions in debt, unregulated industries, corparate flight to China. You should stop worrying about gays and start worrying about America's middle class being destroyed. Bravo to Wal-Mart for showing some corparate resonsibility

Walmart is a business. Other than it selling the products at decent prices, I really don't care what they do. Choosing to call them selves "The Family Place" was their marketing plan. They have the right to sell or not sell what they want when they want and to whom they want, they may also support or donate to any orginization they want to ossociate with. How would you like to open your own shop and have people tell you how to run your business and who you should and shouldn't do it with. If they decide they want to sell products that they didn't before but are in high demand and they change their mind then so be it... It is their business and their choice, if you don't like they way they conduct business or how they represent their company then go shop elsewhere. This is supoosed to be a free country yet everyone wants to tell everyone else what to do, how to do it and who to do it with. Keep it up everybody and maybe someday we will all have someone telling us how to live our lives without any choice in the matter then you will really have something to complain about. Some people are pitiful. Live a happy and peaceful life worrying about yourselves and those you want to help not criticize. Conservative or Liberal, I'm sure tyou have bigger and better things you should be concerned with other then how and with whom Walmart conducts their business and whom they assiciates themselves with. And as far as pay and benefits for wal-mart employees or employess at any other job for that matter... If you don't like it leave and find a better job. This is America, we all have the oppurtuniy to do and be whatever we want to in life, that is the beauty of this country. Why do we want to start telling people what they should and shouldn't do? You don't have to shop at any supermarket you don't like nor do you have to work at any job you don't like as you don't have to associate yourself with people you don't like. That is the called freedom of choice. So just as you like the freedom to make choices for yourself give that same respect to walmart and or any other company or corporaton for that matter. We should all worry about our own business and less we are sticking our noses in someone elses to help.

I consider myself to be conservative, but I have never understood how offering competetive affordable health care & wages for employees as well as having a plan that shows concern for our environment (i.e. conservative - conservation) are considered Liberal. We are called to be good stewards of everything in our domain and that should also be good business. As far the influence of the gay and lesbian agenda, that is far too prevelant in the coporate policies of Wal-Mart and most US corporations (not to mention TV & movies).

Walmart must have done something environmentally correct or have grown a conscience in order to be labeled such as vile.horrible name.....the horror, the horror.....

Let's see Walmart do something about gasoline prices. They so bad? Show us the money, er, gasoline at Walmart prices.

Maybe any conservatives who had the impression that Wal-Mart was "friendly" to their outlook were mistaken; and any liberals who may now think that Wal-Mart has become "friendly" to their outlook may be equally mistaken. wal-Mart is a large commercial corporation. Such corporations act for their own interests and the interests of their stockholders' profits. So, it's not surprising if Wal-Mart makes various efforts hoping to avoid offending ANY customers.

When are we going to start thinking about the human race instead of the race to beat each other to the finish line. Come on. Is raising minimum wage really going to affect you that much? I understand your concern but if you invested your money right, you are not really on a fixed income. Walmart prices have and always will be dictated by the amount of volume they can buy on that particular product at. More volume = less cost to consumer. It has nothing at all to do with "green" items and everything to do with other companies have gotten wise to WM's buying methods and have followed suit. Some chains will even take a loss to encourage the exact sentiment that you have just expressed. Realistically, we're talking about a few pennies per item to make someone's life a little better. I don't think that is too much to ask.

The Problem with FEAF and NLPC members are that they think they shouldn't have to worry about the environment, or healthcare. They won't be around by then anyway. Let someone else deal with it. Raise the minimum wage? How dare the poor ask for more of their money. They don't have the same rights to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, because their well educated enough to make a serious livving. Let's just face the facts. They don't care about anything or anyone else but themselves and their money. Bully for you ultra conservatives. You blow so much hot air out of both ends, maybe we should declare you a toxic waste site. Get with it! It's all about helping each other. ALL THE TIME. Not just when it's convenient for you and your money. Aren't you learning anything from all that church you attend?

What's all this stuff about Red State values? In the minds of Rush Limbaugh's faithful minions, "capitalism" is the main value system of Amerca, and everything works out in the end of we just let "the market decide." At least that is what they blather about anytime the government tries to implement meaningful regulation. So let's hear it for the MARKET fellas! Walmart wants greater market share in Blue States, and they are doing what it takes to get it Ain't America great? (Snicker).

Here is some education for science-averse Republicans: Energy-efficient compact fluorecent light bulbs do in fact contain mercury, and energy-hungry incandescent bulbs do not But the amount of mercury in a compact fluorescent is much less than the amount of mercury that is released to the air by burning enough coal to power the comparable incandescent bulb for 3 years (the expected life of a compact fluorescent). Bottom line is that both bulbs result in mercury being released to the environment, but the compact fluorescent results in much less. Furthermore, if you dispose of fluorescent bulbs in a recycling program, 99% of that mercury is recovered and recycled for future use, preventing it from being released to the environment. This results in the use of compact fluorescents releasing MUCH less mercury to the environment. Now, if you can guarantee that your incandescent bulbs are powered by green energy, then I guess you are doing ok with regards to mercury. But odds are, most of your electricity comes from coal like the rest of us. So the enough with the "compact fluorescents are bad" garbage already. Case closed, class dismissed.
