Liberal shmiberal, I was pissed when they stopped selling guns in some stores, but it didn't stop me from buying other things. They still sell ammo cheaper than anyone else and most of it is US made.
I understand that there is a plaque on some execs wall that says "Deep in my I believe in Moses and the Lord but, business is business"

I bet these same protesters against Wal-Mart are probably the same people who SHOP AT WAL-MART! If not; the protests are from these "burkenstock-wearing and Volvo/BMW-driving types" who live in expensive neighborhoods and have high salaries & shop at only those exclusive and high-dollar stores.

What is this.. April fools day. Yes Walmart is the prime example of Conservative value's gone nuts.

What Walmart is doing though is bowing to public pressure. They aren't stupid.

I can't wait for the next Cival War so this country can rid itself of the "living-in-the-past" groups that label themselves Liberals or Conservatives. Both are a joke, as the government has become of this quickly declining country.

IT'S A FREAKIN' STORE!!! QUIT BRINGING POLITICS INTO EVERYTHING!! WHAT'S NEXT? ARE YOU FARTS TOO CONSERVATIVE? GET A FREAKIN LIFE MORONS!!! MAN!!!

What took you guys so long to figure out that Wal-Mart was liberal? Don't you pay attention to history? Do you not remember that Hillary Clinton sat on the board of directors of Wal-Mart while her husband was Governor of Arkansas? Do you not know that Wal-Mart is headquartered in the Clinton state of Arkansas?

But there is a contradiction: How could liberal Hillary Clinton oversee a conservative company if Wal-Mart is conservative? But she did. For you union guys and you Democrats, how about your Lady Hillary being the head of a company that suppressed the working man???s benefits and right to unionize? But yet, she can do no wrong in your eyes???tsk, tsk.

You would have thought Wal-Mart should have been liberal with Hillary in charge, so how come benefits to Wal-Mart employees have been suppressed for so long? Only after several years AFTER Hillary left did any improvements take place.

Only a Clinton could take both sides of an issue and have the blind public think they are honest, sincere, and trustworthy.

"But in recent years, as it faced growing pressure from liberal activists, Wal-Mart has begun to make changes. It began offering more-robust health-insurance coverage to workers."

Anyone who works for Wal-Mart knows this statement holds about as much water as a New Orleans levee. This is complete and utter horse-poop. I am going broke paying my "share" of our medical expenses, thanks to a ridiculously insufficient and inefficient Wal-Mart health plan. I don't care if fellow Wal-Mart associates or customers are more or less gay than the people who work or shop at Target. I just want a decent health-care program, equal pay for equal work, and monetary rewards for excellence, rather than the 2-cent pins they give employees who excel at their jobs.

Why doesn???t Peter Flaherty just go back to Nordstrom???s, like he even shops at Wal-Mart. It's the liberals shopping there because you conservatives shipped their jobs over sea's and now that's all they can afford. It's so easy for someone with a high paying job with all the benefits to take a way from the poor. Now take you serfdom and go trickle down somewhere else. Now you want to dictate what and were they buy too.

Wall_mart is part pf the free market. It changes it's model to make money. I don't care about many enviromental causes, Freedom of thought, freedom of action and free markets with minmal goverment intervention. Republicans and conservatives use to hold these values. This is why they are loosing...they don't even espouse the values that made they party. If i wanted a "nanny-state" I would vote for democrats, socialists and communists. Wall-mart sells whatever it wants and it will loose or make money if consumers want it..

Great dream is a virus that kills off all the Liberals AND Conservatives... then maybe we could get back to practical governance in the country...

No one saves anything at Wallmart. What you save on a pair of pants or a bag of kitty litter now is little compensation for what employees without benefits will one day require from the public trust. Every dime you save at stores like these puts more american workers in a position where they will need our help. These companies make money now but in the long run we all will pay, America is losing more real jobs with pay and benefits everyday. How are we going to maintian our position as a world power on the backs of a nation of eight dollar an hour wage slaves?

You A holes make it seem like all conservatives are against everything that benefits the little guy. That's not true. Conservatives are against the extremes to which the looney left pushes measures. Blah !!!!

"lambasting Wal-Mart for being too nice to unions, too concerned about the environment and too accommodating to gays and lesbians"

God forbid there be a clean enviroment, health care, less poverty, and gay rights. I mean Wal Mart has gone too far with its support of health care, enviromental awarness, and gay rights. The people who complain are usually right wing nut jobs who don't realize how ignorant they sound. Why are people like this allowed on the planet?

You ever notice how the term "right-wing" is used constantly by the liberal media?

When is the last time you saw the term "left-wing" in Newsweek? Never?

Comment: It's always better when you get people like Peter Flaherty who are willing to air views out in the open. Most far-right people avoid doing that, and most of the anti-consumer and anti-worker decisions are done in boardrooms or other private settings.

Red Staters need to think a little bit about what oil prices might do to their lifestyle if they keep going up much more.
?????? RED STATERS???? ummm wow sounds extremely elitst to me.You think you are better then RED STATERS??? WOW the audacity astounds meThe pure unbridled HATE really doesn't though. BLUE STATERS are better then others ...THIS just reported by the MSM-- CNN and MSNBC

This is a MORAL issue. Wal-Mart should respond to criticism as to their stands on the environment, and how they treat their employees! Many people, including me, make shopping decisions on such issues, and Wal-Mart can't afford to lose the business! CONSERVATIVES USUALLY COME OFF AS MEAN SPIRITED, AND IN THIS CASE, MORALLY BANKRUPT!

Comment: Wal Mart concerned about the environment ? The Super Wal Mart in Coos Bay, OR doesn't have the reuseable tote bags where anyone can see them! You have to ask to even know they exisit!! Truly concerned and working toward the greater good ?, I don't think so.
Don't complain about Walmart -IF you were truly concerned you would bring your own tote and stop biitching about them.Do what you can or want, don't put your own views or values on others that don't share them.We are al complaining about gas prices and diesal, but it was the push for green that made diesal prices far more then regular unleaded and the green people that have kept America from being able to support our own OIL needs and having to bend over for OPEC...then you want to complain about the OIL when you were the original problem behind the high prices?????!!!!!!!IF i want to recycle that is my want but i shouldn'tHATE others for not doing what i want. Bigotry much?

Red Staters need to think a little bit about what oil prices might do to their lifestyle if they keep going up much more. Wal-Mart is vulnerable because they have such long supply chains that'll get hit by rising freight costs, and their Chinese suppliers are getting pinched, too. Some are predicting Wal-Mart can't survive much higher oil prices in its current form. When it starts being forced to pass on rising costs for cheap Chinese stuff to people who can't pay because gas has taken all their discretionary income, you'll know a turning point has been reached. You also see tons of Wal-Mart trucks on the road, but have you ever seen a Wal-Mart train car? Whoops! Most stores have way too much parking but aren't that close to a train track.

Gun department? That'll be needed by some red-staters for fights at the pump. The kind of rugged individualism seen in the sunbelt is ill-suited for a future that'll demand more cooperation. There's no way we're going to solve something as structural and fundamental as energy by the sum total of individuals fending for themselves. You don't get synergies or, more important, needed breakthroughs with that approach.

Who Cares? if someone doesn't like the store(they don't create anything, all they do is buy at a discount, add some margin and make $$ on the volume), Don't BUY there--spend your money somewhere else. It's freedom and free enterprise. If you want a greener store, go start your own. Last time I checked, there was a greeter at the door, usually older and probably on Social Security (until it runs out), and they said, "Hi". No one is forcing anyone to shop there. Go online like the rest of us and make it easy on yourselves and save your gas money to donate to some other worthwhile cause. Posted by GJDenver

I find it interesting that all of us want a bargain, but we forget to remember that the bargains we gained are due to what was once called slavery. The Chinese do what they can to make a living (usually pennies a day) compared to our $10-15 dollars per hour average and the super high paid CEO's. We can't have the best of both worlds...mom and pop stores are gone and they won't be back regardless. All our small stores are no more....you can go to Lowe's or the mall, but the downtown in our area is a bunch of empty buildings where all the hardware, five and dime stores, JC Penney and others....gone never to return because we all want cheap stuff!
