There's a button on your keyboard called the "period." It allows the reader to discern separate sentences.

Peter Flaherty should work for aliving at wal-mart. see if he likes it. I say he would quit the within five-ten minutes. there are a lot of hard working people at wal-mart and they seem to love there job, so if you look after your empolee they will make the company better.

I already work at Wal-mart, ( been there a number of years) and I watch new workers come an go all the time. You have to pay for those great benifits you speak of if you are not in management and Wal-mart does not pay enough to afford them. The cost of living is up the yahoooo and paychecks are not.

That was just too kewl. You hit that ten for a penny nail with a huge sledge hammer.
Glad I got enough common sense to know that you're really not one of those grease, slimy illegal wetbacks from across the river.

go apply at walmart and you would get the same benefits

  • Posted By: ab123 @ 06/09/2008 11:31:57 PM

im not refusing anyones opinion i just thinks its sad to hear someone boast about their company and from the same mouth degrade the benefits it provides. if you complain about money -do something about it. but if you are complaining about benefits that are provided to you then DO NOT complain about the amount. There is no need to be stingy... you didnt have to get a penny.

  • Posted By: granny-one @ 06/09/2008 11:29:34 PM

If I were getting the benefits ab123 is getting I would love my company too.

  • Posted By: ab123 @ 06/09/2008 11:20:21 PM

I WORK IN THE OFFICE. NOT A STORE. I HAVE NOT MET ONE MGMT ASSOCIATE AT THE HOME OFFICE WHO HAVE LEFT WITH LESS THAN 2K FOR THEIR ANNUAL BONUS AND HAVE NEVER GONE WITHOUT. MY BONUS HAS ALWAYS BEEN GENEROUS... YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GET ANYTHING. WHY WOULD YOU EVEN COMPLAIN?!?! IF YOU HATE YOUR POSITION AT THE STORE WHY WOULDNT YOU CONSIDER GOING TO THE HOME OFFICE??

    • Posted By: RynoinIowa @ 06/09/2008 11:26:54 PM

ab123 I don't HATE my job or my company. I just see need for improvement; NO COMPANY is perfect you always must strive to be better. I won't move because I'd LOSE MY DAUGHTER and that is more important. Discussion is to enlighten your mind so that you can LEARN another's perspective not to Shut your mind and refuse to accecpt any other opinion.

I want to end my posts by saying that I love my job. I am challenged daily to inspire associates, improve my department and learn and grow. I wish that people would look at wal*mart as a ever evolving company that should strive on IMPROVING it's experience for associates and customers alike. Wal*Mart is no different than any other company; it is NOT above critisim and anyone who thinks otherwise is Naieve and close minded. Take care of your ASSOCIATES; they'll take care of the CUSTOMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am an associate at Wal-Mart and have been for the past 6 months!!! I have read som of the comments that people have posted and I have to say alot of people need to really do some research before they start bad mouthing Wal-Mart!!! Someone said something about Wal-mart not goin Green!!!! think again we have light bulbs we have the reusable grocery bags we have recycle bins for plastic and aluminum.
As far as the pay rate is concerned heck go to work at your local convinience store where you can get beer soda eggs milk and gas and see if you get paid over $9 an hour with no experience!!!! As far as Wal-Mart prices are concerned they add match!!!!! so if you see something in the local add for $5.00 and its $7.00 at Wal-Mart they will add match!!!! So try it!!!
I live in a kinda small town and unless i want to go to a big store like sears or pennys my options are limited I have a choice of K-Mart Target or Wal-Mart and Im happy to say Wal-Mart wins hands down!!!! they have a better selection and better prices!!!!
I will tell you all my small town is in Prescott AZ and if you are ever in that town you come and shop at the Wal-Mart on Hwy 69 and you will leave there a HAPPY SHOPPER!!!!!

    (PART I OF MY COMMENT)

Wal-Mart is a corporation, not a governmental agency. Simply put, it needs to focus more on making money for its stockholders than environmental advocacy; if that means stocking its shelves with organic products to fulfill a larger demand, so be it. Rather than denounce either liberalism or conservatism, let's look at what really matters: Walmart makes money for its supporters. As Redneckbaron most clearly explained, one may shop elsewhere if he dislikes a company. How else does it really affect you? Now for particulars:

With an increased concern over Global Warming, have you considered its feasibility? Read up on the topic of Milankovitch Cycles, which states that the Earth's elliptical orbit is to blame for the sequential Ice Ages. Perhaps one may consider that volcanoes alone emit 10X the carbon dioxide as humans? Or that the oceans release even more carbon (methane, especially)? The Bermuda triangle, for example, is where many ships have sunk (methane bubbles rising and lifting them up out of the water only to have them fall down and split in half) and planes have disappeared (methane's density is less than air's; when a plane flies through, it believes it is rising, especially on low-visibility nights, so the pilot attempts to correct the plane by pitching downward). With an increase in Carbon and increased heat, etc., etc., the ice caps will melt, more water will create a flow southward on the Atlantic, reverse the ocean's flow and thus the electro-magnetism on the Earth's surface, and, because of water's large potential to store heat, will create an ice age. The previous conjecture was proven by Carbon ice-dating near the (North Pole?). Now, Al Gore's summer home, I read, uses about 22 times the amount of energy as a typical American home does. Why would politicians wish to lie about global warming? So when they turn you into a blind, robotic constituent to put them into power to "solve" the large fiasco, they can ram pork-barreled legislation down the throats of American tax-payers. The powerful know that a simple gratification to the masses is the opiate of actual advocacy. Whether plastic bags or organic products is more enviro-firendly is irrelevant; what is more efficient is they key to Wal-Mart's success. If they choose to appease the Left AND disregard fiscal efficiency, the economic system will instate a "natural selection" to filter Wal-Mart out into a company that is more beneficial to us all.

ab123 Bonuses you are misinformed there as well; your bonus is now based on a "plan" where you must meet Sales/Profit/Customer Service and compared to year's past; the bonuses are C.R.A.P. our store's last 3 bonuses have been under $100; net $60 Asst. Mgrs. get $2-3K based on stores #'s as well the ONLY mgmt. making out like a bandit is the STORE MGR. 10-20K. Know your facts. this policy is company wide; so it applys to ALL stores

I am going to leave this discussion with this: To the associates who are reading if you have an issue with your position in anyway discuss them with someone that is what Sam Walton wanted for all his associates- a voice. If you are in a capped out postion ASK someone ANYONE what options you have to be promote. If you need to adjust your schedule for family priorities TALK to your management team. Family is important and work should never impose on that. Your team should ALWAYS comply with your needs if you have a vaild reason for your request. If they dont want to - UTILIZE the Open Door Policy- thats why it was set in place... to make sure the associate gets what they need. Afterall, where would we be without them?? I didnt mean to offend any one of the associates and if I have I am truly sorry but dont let your morale be diminished by people who love to bash the company we have worked so hard to maintain. HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY AND GOD BLESS YOU! W-A-L-M-A-R-T whos Wal-Mart is it? My Wal-Mart. Who's #1? The customer ALWAYS!!!!

SENIOR MGMT ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ab123; Re: executives. No Hourly mgmt. is given stock compensation, nor is Asst. Mgmt. Store Mgmt. possibly. but Hourly Mgmt. like myself? DOSEN'T HAPPEN you are misinformed

  • Posted By: ab123 @ 06/09/2008 11:04:34 PM

Well that is unfortunate that they think that. I dont. Management associates get ALOT more benefits than hourly. FREE stock options that are GIVEN to them... FREE bonuses (which not many go without)... a paycheck not based on the clocking in.... I could go on and on. I love my company.

  • Posted By: ab123 @ 06/09/2008 10:55:41 PM

RynoinIowa is sounds as though you work at a store and not an office. I am sorry that you reached your pay cap but as for me, that pay cap is encouragement for me to better myself within my company. I wouldnt want to imagine being in the same position for several years and not want to promote.

    • Posted By: RynoinIowa @ 06/09/2008 11:02:27 PM

ab123 I could easily go into mgmt. program (Starting pay was $36K/year; Now $42K/year but I have a daughter that I have every other week and cannot and WILL not loose time with her to work for a company. I was a asst. produce mgr. and stepped down because my ex-wife wanted me to bring my daughter to hear before work @ 4a.m. I know my priorities.

  • Posted By: littleguy56289 @ 06/09/2008 11:01:04 PM

ab123..........If you read RynoinIowa's post a little better, you would notice that he works in management now. So working in management in a Wal-Mart is not all that it's cracked up to be?

  • Posted By: ab123 @ 06/09/2008 11:00:34 PM

No I am sorry that they felt like they couldnt promote within a store. There are several different opportunities within the store that the office doesnt offer and vise versa.
