By the way, I'm really over making a big deal about Obama's middle name. He didn't name himself, he had no control over it.

Concerned Canadian, Glad you're concerned, but wild-eyed anarchy won't help a bit. As they say, burning the village to save the village doesn't work. Pulling together is really the only viable option at this point.

JFK ..... " Ask not what your country can do for you but ask what you can do for your country ! '

Fight for your country...take back your right to vote...overthrow the DNC...overthrow Hussein Obama...do what is best for your country !!

McCain top advisor Gram has millions in a bank oversees with ties to big oil companies, he is now being investigated This is going across our news as we speak. He can't win in November because he is contridicting his policies, he cant run as being tough on Isreals because he has ties to lobbying, along with Cheney, more to come
Comment: Another fact- Cheney has contracts in Iraq that goes though the next 10 years that will provide more prisons, oil shelters and much more, wow that's a BIG reason not to pull our troops, this company of his is making MILLIONS- just thought you all would like to know this info, stay tuned more coming out.

We all want the best for our little space here on this earth . Ours , the Great Land of Liberty .When the majority of the people who disrespect our space, trash her up , misuse her lands, abuse her resources decide to vote for a man because he is black and to them that is the untimate revenge . We the ones who are the caretakers of our space will not lie down and accept we will fight a fight that will not end in November. We know what the issues are , we feel and live the consequences of bad decisions make on our behalf by greed. Mark my words this election will mean nada when America reaches her boiling point. Ladies and gentlemen if this Afro American /Hawiian you believe you have a right to shove down our throats if and when becomes president , look out .You are going to see first hand democracy in action ... EVERY VOTE COUNTS ...

    • Posted By: kshortSD @ 06/02/2008 7:47:23 PM

Yes, even those of caucus states and so-called "insignificant" states. And if every vote counts, then how do give a win to Hillary in Michigan when her opponent wasn't on the ballot? Stop trying to sound so sanctimonious...You are all kinds of wrong on this one.

  • Posted By: miltongalfas @ 06/02/2008 3:18:10 PM

Obama wanted to make sure that the popular vote counted. So when will he exit and let CLinton who won the popular vote be the candidate?

    • Posted By: TruthForward @ 06/02/2008 6:53:08 PM

I guess you're going to stick to that story, but its not working.

      • Posted By: kshortSD @ 06/02/2008 7:43:26 PM

Yeah, in order for that argument to work, you have to count all the votes (even the caucus states) and it's not fair to count MI when Obama wasn't on the ballot.

  • Posted By: rainbow68 @ 06/02/2008 4:07:12 PM

It's too late to change anything this election cycle - plus it's been voted on by the DNC. The way the Democrats hand out delegates doesn't work. I look for a complete overhaul before 2012.

    • Posted By: cnn357 @ 06/02/2008 4:30:00 PM

      I sure hope so
anyone wanna tell me why Puerto Rico gets 55 delegates when they arent even a state and cant even vote
      in Novmeber?
Im Puerto Rican...but damn even I can see thats nuts

      • Posted By: Mimi13 @ 06/02/2008 7:32:00 PM

Ditto Guam, the Virgin Island and American Samoa. The only thing that makes sense to me is that citizens of U.S. territories are U.S. citizens. By that logic, they should also be able to vote in the election for president, but. maybe, that would take a constitutional amendment. Since political parties are clubs, they can invite anyown they wish to vote for their nominee. IT is a little weird, however.

  • Posted By: griffin1 @ 06/02/2008 6:20:42 PM

But there were signs that, at least here in the heartland, Clinton supporters did not bear animosity to Obama and will vote for him as well.

"I think he can be a leader," said Karen Schaefer, a retired elementary school teacher. (Hillary supporter)

    Democrats moving forward......

Comment: Comment: Comment: TO ALL THE OBAMA SUPPORTERS (of which I am not one) - it is time to stop poking the Clinton supporters and degrading their candidate. There are a lot of strong feelings on both sides. It looks like Obama is going to lose the nomination - take a moment to think about how you would be feeling right now if the reverse were true.

There is bound to be happiness and not anger or bitterness on the part of the McCain supporters that their candidate will win the nomination. It is completely natural and understandable given the long, hard battle fought by both candidates. And it is exactly how you would be feeling right now if the situation were reversed.

There is also bound to be some venting and cries of unfairness, which will undoubtably make it to this blog. That is also completely natural and understandable.

But I challenge every mcCain supporter to make the blog related to this article different than the other blogs. Let's not insult the people who may chose to vent on this blog. Let's insult Hillary Clinton more. Instead, let's reach out to Hillary and her supporters. Let's make sure we are clear that we respect her (which I certianly do) and we respect the campaign she ran. Let's give them time to come to terms with her eventual lose (I use the term eventual, because as of the time of this post, Obama will not have won and I don't think we should disrepect Clinton and her supporters by claiming he has until he has the necessary number of delegates). Most importantly of all, let's come together and unite the party so we can cheer for McCain.

A key theme of the Obama candidacy has been one of racist lies. It has also been a candidacy of black power efforts. Why not use this as a starting point for a grass-roots effort to heal the party. All of us - on both sides of this great debate - have said things that may not have been nice or fair. But it has to stop. Why not start by having it stop with us?

If you agree with me, then let's try to do two things:

    (1) Copy this message as many times as you can and place it on other blogs.

    (2) If you see this message on a blog, then post a simple comment - "I, am a mcCain supporter, respect both Hillary Clinton and those that support her. I hope, in time, they will join with us to unite the party and defeat the democrates in November"

About what I expected from a McCain supporter. The Republican's want the Democrats to fight it out to the bitter end. Thanks so much for making my point!

      • Posted By: ChrisLPNM @ 06/01/2008 8:57:02 PM

Try as you will, the Democrats will prevail in November. Then you will see the light!

daddy0159 - With all due respect, I think you need to back off on the booze a little bit. Your posts are becoming incoherent.

        • Posted By: ChrisLPNM @ 06/01/2008 9:13:52 PM

I am truly sorry that you feel that way - lucky for me I don't. For most Americans, the future is about more than just money. Do you have children? Do you ever wonder what kind of world they are going to inheret from us? What it is going to be like for their children? The Republican party has become the manifestation of greed and selfishness. They make short term decisions for short term gains - the price of which is the future of our children. The rest of the world sees it - especially our long time allies, the Europeans. Remember the headlines in the European papers after Bush's second term election "How Could 50 Million People Be So Stupid?" Personally, I thought that was a little harsh, but the point is the European's understand the long view. And now Americans are finally starting to see it too. At least some of us are.

if the party wins then the people lose how much more can you make if the dems get into office 0 nothing more however if this is your year to become wealthy then ask your self this how much will they take from you plenty so many folks are fooled by the parties saying i'll cut this and that but the truth is they'll just spend it where they want and we'll pay so i say stick with the party that will protect the people of the u.s and israel and screw all the other i'll fix this and that jargon i've been here too long to believe any of them any more !!!!

      • Posted By: loriw @ 06/01/2008 9:14:54 PM

No Hillary is doing that all by herself and needs no help from us.
She can't see the writing on the wall....her campaign is OVER.

They knew the rules going in. The elections were not going to count. They went forward anyway.

The Clinton camp is screaming to make every vote count. Well, what about the votes of the people who stayed home because they knew the state parties were breaking the rules and the election wouldn't count? What about their votes?

The only way to completely fix this mess is to do it over and make the state party pay for it.

  • Posted By: krigden @ 06/02/2008 3:55:02 PM

Who cares why anyone supports anyone? The issue here is whether the dems of two states deserve to have their "votes" counted. These people knew when they went to the polls that it was supposed to be moot. The party reps in FL and MI decided that for the voters when thet went against pary rules. Sorry folks, this is not about emotions; its about rules. You break the rules, you don't get to play.

  • Posted By: miltongalfas @ 06/02/2008 3:21:08 PM

I am a life long Dem but Dean's Clinton hatred for Bill not supporting him has ruined the party. I will be forced to vote for McCain rather than an unqualified, anti-American Balck liberationist. Obama just doesn't get it; it's not about color it is about his lack of qualifications and his lack of judgment. He is a joke and I wish that more americans respected the office of the president so that they would not put a 10 year cocaine user, (according to his own book) up as a candidate for a responsible job.

Here is a post I wrote when I first heard that the Clinton Campaign was SPONSORING the demonstration outside the hotel where the Rules Committee was meeting (the Clinton Committee withdrew its announcement of such sponsorship about the time of my post - cound someone have actually read it?):

"I???m an Obama supporter, but here are some words for the Hillary supporters who want to demonstrate in Washington on May 31 at the site of the Rules Committee meeting. Don???t do it.

"It???s a no win situation. The Rules Committee knows you are out there. But they can???t possibly change what they intend to do by your presence. Imagine if they did, and someone found out (it will be on TV!). At the next crucial juncture of the nomination process, Obama supporters who don???t care to be one-upped will certainly be there; you will be, too.

    "Picture that, if you will.

"I sincerely hope no organized group of Obama supporters show up for the Rules Committee hearing Saturday, out of fear that the Clinton supporters may gain some edge. The Obama campaign has this figured out - they are advising their supporters NOT to demonstrate at the Rules Committee Meeting, and instead to help with democratic voter registration. Apparently the Clinton campaign never figured this out.

I"f I???m Nancy Pelosi or Howard Dean, I would have given serious consideration to an announcement that any candidate or his/her campaign committee who encourages a demonstration that might interfere with the orderly deliberative processes of the Rules Committee will not be engaged in an activity that can possibly be helpful to the Rules Committee or the Party and may be subject to sanctions. But maybe it???s too late for that."

The sad part is if BO were white people would not vote for him for lack of knowledge and direction. This
is what is really making women mad. Race and gender aside, Hillary Clinton has more knowledge on how to straighten out the country, more experience in fighting off the Republicans and a definite plan of action in which to take the country to recover from the past 8 years. BO has hope and change. That is NOT tangible and is actually scary to me to look at 4 more years getting worse with someone who does not have a clue on how Washington works or how to get anything done. He gives great speaches but we need more to run the country. People please wake up!!!
