First let me state to you that Barack is not Hillary enemy, they both ran extremly exhausting races and this country has never seen any Presidental race as this with BOTH candidates receiving over 17 million votes from the America people, regardless of who you support between the two at the end of the day they are both on the same team. Some of you forget that and threaten to cross party lines and vote for McCain. Let me say this we all are on the same team and if Hillary would have won the nomination Barack supporters would have supported her without hesitation. I am glad to here that all the Hillary supporters I speak with in my chat they will support Obama if he clinches the nomination, so to say all Hillary 17 million supporters will vote McCain is a complete lie, McCain has the same failed policies as Bush and to give him your vote is a terrible mistake, at the end of the day we can make history and Hillary will be apart of this administration some how, They will unite and make history together, I doubt that they will be on the same ticket but Hillary will have a cabinet position, So when this happens and you see the two unite, what will you do? I say get the democrats (Obama) in office and make some serious changes for our country

As far as Michigan and Florida Obama conceded delegates to Clinton, and even if he conceded everything to her she still would be trailing, you are blaming Obama for following the rules of the DNC, Mr. Ickes is a Hillary supporter and he voted to this penalty and advised both candidates not to campaign in these states, Obama followed the rules and thats the only reason he removed his name from the ballot and they knew that, that's why when it went up for a vote the other day the panel who had 13 CLINTON SUPPORTERS rejected this delegate seating at 15-12 vote. Just so you understand what I just said her supporters who were on the panel didn't even agree that Florida and Michigan should penalize Obama because he did only what they told both candidates, Let's stop bickering about this because Hillary is trailing and we know she will support Obama at the end of the day, we need to focus on beating the republicans they want to see us divided, Obama had over 17 million supporters and so does Hillary we need to join together and take a stand....... OBAMA 08'

Hey all ya'll Clinton supporters. Keep your chin up. Who knows what may happen involving this crook and fraud. Dual-citizen, mohammed messiah, whose core constituency....his friend...... not just someone he knows. Friends. The latest hell-bound "christian" Father Flamer. What is this Obama has for spiritual guidance. A Catholic Priest, A Nation of Islamothug Imam, and Rev. God Damn AmeriKKKa. Well, he is a Messiah, isn't he? NEWS FLASH!!!....Hussein Quits "Church" ....... That means he will get "re-baptised. Who knows. He might just drown.

I'm Republican, and many of you know this about HolyRoller. I have become quite a fan of Sen. Clinton. She is one tough lady. And I'm certain, she loves this country, and would take whatever means necessary to protect this Homeland. Hussein, I have NO DOUBT, has definite plans to weaken the U.S.. Militarily. Politically. And Economically. It will not happen.

But hang in there. And if worse comes to worse....McCain can make Hillary a part of his Cabinet. Talk about unifying and crossing the aisles. I have heard the rumour, and would not be at all surprised.

    Good Luck.....

Obama's entire family lives here. He loves this country totally.

This is the first reasonable posting I have seen from you. Now you sound like a decent person who has his or her act together. Nice to see you back down and it was nice to read your commentary

      • Posted By: fryman12 @ 06/02/2008 9:42:28 AM

Reasonable? Are you out of you mind! I really hope you are kidding. Perhaps it is because he said Senator Clinton is one "tough lady."

    • Posted By: ChrisLPNM @ 06/02/2008 12:00:41 AM

I find it strange that a fair number of Republicans seem to like Hillary Clinton. Perhaps it is because she would be easier to beat in the general election? My Republican friends seem to think so. They also seem to think that if she did get elected, she could be easily bought. I am not saying that I personally think that any of it is true, nor am I saying that the majority of Republicans think that way. I just find it odd that of the Republicans I know their views are pretty consistent on this subject. Are others finding this to be the case as well?

  • Posted By: rainbow68 @ 06/01/2008 10:37:22 PM

The Obama supporters need to take their cues from the Senator himself - polite, kind, and carrying oneself with dignity.

    • Posted By: TruthForward @ 06/02/2008 10:12:01 AM

      Trying very hard.

    • Posted By: ChrisLPNM @ 06/02/2008 12:01:24 AM

    • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 06/01/2008 10:40:38 PM

Thank you for posting. Many of us are trying to do just that.

  • Posted By: TruthForward @ 06/02/2008 10:08:50 AM

There is nothing more that Obama can give/concede to Clinton and her supporters.. Except give you a great country.

  • Posted By: ggourde @ 06/01/2008 11:34:08 PM

How can it ever be fair? People are convienently verlooking that Obama was not even on the ballots in Michigan and Florida.

    • Posted By: TruthForward @ 06/02/2008 9:37:17 AM

      It's fair because
      1. This is about the voters (not the candidates)... And the two states agreed (on behalf of the voters) to these terms;
      2. The candidates partially (90%) agreed to these terms;
      3. The rules allow for these terms and the rules are the law;
      4. The voters entrusted the DNC to make rules.

      • Posted By: TruthForward @ 06/02/2008 9:44:39 AM

        5. The candidates agreed that the DNC makes the rules.
        6. The candidates agreed that this is not about their own aspirations.. This is about the VOTERS.
        7. The candidates can represent their view, but not the view of the voters. The state rep represents the view of the voters.

No, Obama has destroyed the True Democratic party. I have watched his followers attack, insult, belittle , make fun of Senator Hillary Clinton,, a party member. Her supporters who are fellow members of the same Democratic party, as are they. There will be no healing , unity or a win for this new Democratic party, not now. My heart, my spirit , and my love and belief in a party I have always loved for its defending of what is right will never be whole again. You Obama supporters how no idea what you have done nor do I expect you ever will.

    • Posted By: summer1216 @ 06/01/2008 12:22:25 PM

Obama has rarely if ever belittled Clinton. It is not his style.

Welcome, brother, to the New Republican Party. Don't worry, we've changed since that nasty ole Bush guy was our leader. Now we have John McCain at the helm and things are going to get alot better. First of all, we're gonna quash them Iraqi terrorist guys even if it takes 100 years and another 5,000 casualties. Next, we're gonna fix the economy.................................if our new leader can find some staff that actually knows something about the economy.

As our newest member, you are entitled to a front row seat in Iraq and another $5,000 share of the national debt. WELCOME!

      • Posted By: TruthForward @ 06/01/2008 1:43:15 PM

McCain is only a clone of Bush. He has no ideas of his own. Not a good leader at all.

    • Posted By: jflash97 @ 06/01/2008 10:36:46 AM

Nobody has worked more towards creating divisiveness in the party than Clinton and her campaign. Her constant attacks have shown she's willing to do anything to win, even at the cost of weakening the party. She's taken the low road at every opportunity and yet, in the polls, Obama supporters have continually shown that they would support her in the general election in greater numbers than Clinton's supporters have said they would support him. So how is it that Obama supporters are the divisive ones?

    • Posted By: TruthForward @ 06/01/2008 9:48:14 AM

Clinton supporters have done the same. And Clinton have said some very very divisive things.. straight from the horses mouth. So stop making excuses Floridian.

White America and white women should be ashamed of themselves. How can they say that Hillary was being discriminated on. Do these women remember how hard it was for blacks to vote? They treated blacks badly at one point. Now they want to not only play the race card, but play the women rights role. This is really a sad day in America.

    • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 06/01/2008 2:24:15 PM

I want you to go to those American famillies who lost a loved one in Iraq and tell them, guess what, I voted for McCain. You are the sad one and people are ready for a change. You are still stuck in keeping blacks in there place. You are the pitiful one and should be ashamed of yourself. You need to open your eyes. Hillary has to get ready for her case soon and she really needs to be in he White House to get all of those cases off of her back. Bill has a new article in Vanity Fair and all of Bill's aids say that he has been fooling around with women while campaining for his wife. The Clintons. A poor choice for America.

Furthermore...it's not like he's winning by a landslide. They are very close. There are a LOT of us who love Hillary and who take personally the way he has run his campaign. I am a well educated college graduate, minivan driving mom of three, and my only vote cast will be for Senator Clinton. My voice counts, too! Nobody will take my vote away from me!

    • Posted By: yahooligan @ 06/01/2008 12:19:14 AM

the way he's run his campaign??? he's pretty much taken the high road in most instances. and he's also remained stable, constant, steadfast and gracious. his campaign has run so smoothly and efficiently..much like one would hope the country might be run. meanwhile, we've seen several sides to hillary, her campaign is a hot mess...mismanaged, bickering and malcontent within the campaign and 20 million bucks in debt. we've seen her misrember memorable events in her not so distant past, we've seen her flip on major issues...including initially saying the fl & mi votes would not count...but suddenly being the champion of those poor souls that have had their votes "hijacked" sadly, she only began to care when she needed them to count. i'd love to think that all the clinton supporters are noble fighters for justice and making sure everyone's vote be counted...i just have a sneaking idea in the back of my head those supporters might not be so eager to count those votes were their candidate the front runner. as far as you people that are willing to vote mccain if hillary is not the nom...all i can say is that you've definitely been inspired by her...sadly, you're inspired to support her in her blatant quest for power and you are ignorant to her self-absorbed ambition. the sad thing is, she banked on having this thing wrapped up by super tuesday...and didn't plan past that...another example of poor management/poor planning. why you are all so eager to have her run the country in the ground...i'm baffled.

      • Posted By: JenRN1012 @ 06/02/2008 6:12:46 AM

Thanks so much for your comments. I'm sure you don't mean to make such disparaging comments about a woman who has dedicated her life to children's issues even before anyone was looking. My vote was not hijacked...I've loved her since day one, and she made a killing in my state, and our votes were counted. She is not the champion of poor, uneducated white trash...I graduated from a Prep school and a private university, and she speaks to the issues that are important to me: healthcare, college tuition, education, and has a plan for these things. Obama does not do well in the face of adversity, he's not tough enough to handle criticism. Hillary stands up, dusts herself off, and keeps on marching. She does everything well, diplomatically. She deserves our respect and HE still needs to earn mine.

  • Posted By: rainbow68 @ 06/01/2008 6:42:07 PM

Hillary will never run as an Independent. She's flat broke and out of time. I respectfully disagree with BEly - the press and the DNC are not determined to "give" the nomination to Senator Obama. He earned it. If anyone gave him the nomination, it was the voters.

    • Posted By: the-commish @ 06/02/2008 1:03:55 AM

It was actually Hillary Clinton herself who did much to ensure that Obama would be nominated.

Her early campaign was a big state strategy, ignoring the small state caucuses. Her funding was primarily from deep-pocket donors. When she realized that the race was going to go on beyond Super Tuesday (when she expected to secure the nomination) she had to go back to the same donors again, many of whom were already tapped out.

David Axelrod and company have run a brilliant campaign, again aided in large part by the Clinton campaign's stupidity!

Did anyone really think he'd change his cheating ways? And why should he ? His own wife doesn't hold him accountable for what he does to his marriage. And neither did the American people when he was in the White House. Bill and Hillary are nothing but sad soap opera characters

The economy is killing the average American, and things really need to change. Let us think about our people, our kids, and also, our social security. It is time to unite deomocrats. I guess ultimately, the way to sum it up is to say that if you agree with the Democratic party's platform, then that is who you need to support. Otherwise, if the opponent wins and policies are put in place that you disagree with, you have no one to blame but yourself.

Your name suggests you are a follower of Christ. But your sarcasm and rudeness brings shame to your cause, both theologically and politically. Everyone deserves to be heard, but the offensive content of your posts are unnecessarily inflammatory.

Somebody tell me if this is correct: Guam delegates get votes, and Michigan delegates get half votes. Then answer this: Is the democratic party a joke?

    • Posted By: joe_mama @ 06/01/2008 7:32:15 AM

The only joke is the Demo party bosses in Michigan who forced their constituents into this fiasco. At least FL can say it was the Rep legislature. Michigan Demos were told not to do it....they saw FL get slapped for it...and now they want to play the victim.

What I find truly hilarious is the attitude that rules mean nothing...just keep complaining and you'll get what you want. Don't like the speed limit? No problem! Just tell thecops the law is unfair....Committed your 3rd strike? No sweat! Just tell the judge that the law is unjustly applied and that you shouldn't have to face 25-life....Don't like taxes? Easy! Just cheat and tell the IRS that other people do it too, so it's no big deal.

      Does that answer your question?

Anyone else see the latest sermon by yet another reverend at Trinity Church that prompted Obama to resign from the church yesterday? I find it really hard to listen to yet another member of Trinity Church stand in the pulpit and preach the exact same hate that Wright has from that church and believe that Obama has never heard the same sentiments expressed in that church. Right now we have video of yet another member of the same church preaching the same hate. Is this a new way to speak and think within this church or is this the norm and we are just now seeing it?

    • Posted By: summer1216 @ 06/01/2008 8:15:27 PM

It was a guest CATHOLIC Priest at Trinity who made the comments last week that led Obama to resign from the church. From the Dallas Morning News: The Rev. Michael Pfleger was a guest preacher last week at Trinity United Church of Christ -- the church Obama resigned from this weekend. During his sermon, Pfleger pretended to be Hillary Clinton crying over "a black man stealing my show."

Calling the past few days "the most painful" of his life, Pfleger on Sunday told his own southside Chicago parishioners: "I apologize for anyone who was offended and who thought it to be mockery. That was neither my intent nor was it my heart."

      • Posted By: mbailiff @ 06/01/2008 8:28:43 PM

and that makes it ok? I wonder why that preacher thought that sermon would go over well with that audience? Did you see the video with the other members of the church standing and applauding as he made the disgraceful comments. It sure looked like an accidental sermon to me too! Come on your smarter than that!

hi...woman here. while sexism is still rampant in america....i would like to point out a couple of differences between racism and sexism. a victim of sexism is more likely to feel dismissed or trivial. whereas a victim of racism is more likely to feel hated, despised, threatened, sub-human. historically, people were hung, beaten, burned etc. for their race. no one really ever hung women for their gender. present day...store owners don't watch women to make sure they don't steal something, women don't clutch their purses tighter to them when a woman gets on the elevator, people don't roll up their windows when at a stoplight next to a woman. i'm not dismissing the fact that women still deal with sexism constantly. but the last sentence of your statement is ridiculous...racism is so yesterday....good lord....there's so much racism against hispanics and blacks it's frightening. being white, i'm sadly privy to the unguarded racist remarks, beliefs that many white people still hold...and these are people who consider themselves enlightened, tolerant, down with the people...they don't even think they're being racists. i think it's really great that you haven't had to deal with racism on a firsthand basis...or maybe even known people that had...but i really think you are in the minority. and i think it's sad that your ignorance might keep you from seeing what is all around you.

Actually, rape is a hate crime, normally against women. There is also spousal abuse.

Don't believe her. That woman is not black. No black woman living anywhere on planet Earth is that out of touch with the harsh reality of racial hatred you so accurately and eloquently described in your post. She's trying to make some kind of lame point that sexism is worse than racism.

Indians support always establishment irrespective of how corrupt iy is. Particularly, females see Indiara Gandhi in Hillary, but she does not have even half of her leadership qualities. For example, HRC complains abour sexism in media instead of facing the scrutiny as a leader. Obams didn't complain about racism when he was bombarded by media with rev, Wright's episodes. He addressed them with speech and denunciations in a [residential manner. That shows the difference between a leader and a person who is not. BTW, I am an Indian male who always supported Indiara Gandhi, but I can't aupport HRC/

I'm sure you're for Hillary, but you're no black woman. Please just be yourself and don't try this again. You're embarrassing yourself.

By your logic, it is really the "turn" of a black man to be voted into the White House because black men gained the vote before women of any color. By your logic, it will be approxaimtely 50 years before it is a woman's turn since women didn't get suffrage until the 1920s and black men got suffrage in the 1860s. Black men have been waiting longer, in other words.

BUT, of course, this is all nonsense. No one in America is "owed" pubic office, least of all the presidency. We don't have any race, color, creed, gender or age requirements. There is no line. There are no "turns." In any given election, the office is earned by the person who convinces the most people to come out and vote for him or her. That's all there is to it.

Hillary didn't lose this election because she's a women. She lost it because she ran a terrible campaign loaded with mismanagement, missteps and mistakes. She lost because she expected a coronation, not a contest. She lost because she squandered her excessive war chest early in the process and had little money for later contest -- because she never believed that there would be later contests. She lost because she ignored the early caucuses and by the time she wised up, she was so behind in delegates that she never caught up.

But most of all, in my opinion, she lost because she voted for this misbegotten war in Iraq. She bought into the neocon war philosphy because she was afraid that, if she didn't, she would be called "weak" on defense. She underestimated the level of sentiment against this misbegotten war. And she HANDED to Obama on a silver platter the very issue that launched his campaign. There is no reason to believe that the Obama campaign would ever have taken off without that issue. It galvanized the college crowd and sent legions of young volunteers into Iowa to get out the vote for him. If he had not won Iowa, his campaign would have been dead by February.

Sexism had nothing to do with Hillary's defeat. She managed that little feat all by herself!

This is absolutely rediculous. I believe sexism is injected into the race by the Clinton campaign. I really don't believe that this is the case. You can easily argue that racism is a problem in some states. If the candidate were some other female who is not so divisive, I believe that more people will actually support her. I believe it's the Clinton's personality problem, NOT gender that could potentially cause her the nomination.

    The Post Turtle

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old Texas rancher, whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man.
Eventually the topic got around to Obama and his bid to be our President.
The old rancher said, "Well, ya know, Obama is a 'post turtle'."
Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a 'post turtle' was
    .
The old rancher said, "When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'.
"The old man saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain.

"You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he is up there, and you just want to help the dumb ass get down."

You can say what you want about the South, but you never hear of anyone retiring and moving north

    • Posted By: summer1216 @ 06/01/2008 8:13:17 PM

People tend not to retire and move north because of the WEATHER, which is under no one's control. Older people often tolerate cold poorly.
